Deuxième épître aux Corinthiens 5

JERUSALEM	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 Nous savons en effet que si cette tente - notre maison terrestre - vient à être détruite, nousavons un édifice qui est l'oeuvre de Dieu, une maison éternelle qui n'est pas faite de main d'homme, dans lescieux.	1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 Aussi gémissons-nous dans cet état, ardemment désireux de revêtir par-dessus l'autre notrehabitation céleste,	2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
3 si toutefois nous devons être trouvés vêtus, et non pas nus.	3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
4 Oui, nous qui sommes dans cette tente, nous gémissons, accablés; nous ne voudrions pas eneffet nous dévêtir, mais nous revêtir par-dessus, afin que ce qui est mortel soit englouti par la vie.	4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
5 Et Celui qui nous a faits pour cela même, c'est Dieu, qui nous a donné les arrhes de l'Esprit.	5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
6 Ainsi donc, toujours pleins de hardiesse, et sachant que demeurer dans ce corps, c'est vivre enexil loin du Seigneur,	6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7 car nous cheminons dans la foi, non dans la claire vision...	7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
8 Nous sommes donc pleins de hardiesse et préférons quitter ce corps pour aller demeurerauprès du Seigneur.	8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
9 Aussi bien, que nous demeurions en ce corps ou que nous le quittions, avons-nous à coeur delui plaire.	9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
10 Car il faut que tous nous soyons mis à découvert devant le tribunal du Christ, pour quechacun recouvre ce qu'il aura fait pendant qu'il était dans son corps, soit en bien, soit en mal.	10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
11 Connaissant donc la crainte du Seigneur, nous cherchons à persuader les hommes. Quant àDieu, nous sommes à découvert devant lui, et j'espère que, dans vos consciences aussi, nous sommes àdécouvert.	11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
12 Nous ne recommençons pas à nous recommander nous-mêmes devant vous; nous vousdonnons seulement occasion de vous glorifier à notre sujet, pour que vous puissiez répondre à ceux qui seglorifient de ce qui se voit et non de ce qui est dans le coeur.	12 For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart.
13 En effet, si nous avons été hors de sens, c'était pour Dieu; si nous sommes raisonnables, c'estpour vous.	13 For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.
14 Car l'amour du Christ nous presse, à la pensée que, si un seul est mort pour tous, alors toussont morts.	14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
15 Et il est mort pour tous, afin que les vivants ne vivent plus pour eux-mêmes, mais pour celuiqui est mort et ressuscité pour eux.	15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
16 Ainsi donc, désormais nous ne connaissons personne selon la chair. Même si nous avonsconnu le Christ selon la chair, maintenant ce n'est plus ainsi que nous le connaissons.	16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
17 Si donc quelqu'un est dans le Christ, c'est une création nouvelle: l'être ancien a disparu, unêtre nouveau est là.	17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 Et le tout vient de Dieu, qui nous a réconciliés avec Lui par le Christ et nous a confié leministère de la réconciliation.	18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 Car c'était Dieu qui dans le Christ se réconciliait le monde, ne tenant plus compte des fautesdes hommes, et mettant en nous la parole de la réconciliation.	19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Nous sommes donc en ambassade pour le Christ; c'est comme si Dieu exhortait par nous.Nous vous en supplions au nom du Christ: laissez-vous réconcilier avec Dieu.	20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 Celui qui n'avait pas connu le péché, Il l'a fait péché pour nous, afin qu'en lui nous devenionsjustice de Dieu.	21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
