1 Quand ils approchent de Jérusalem, en vue de Bethphagé et de Béthanie, près du mont des Oliviers, ilenvoie deux de ses disciples,	1 And as they were approaching Jerusalem and Bethania, toward the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,
2 en leur disant: "Allez au village qui est en face de vous, et aussitôt, en y pénétrant, vous trouverez, àl'attache, un ânon que personne au monde n'a encore monté. Détachez-le et amenez-le.	2 and he said to them: “Go into the village that is opposite you, and immediately upon entering there, you will find a colt tied, on which no man has yet sat. Release him and bring him.
3 Et si quelqu'un vous dit: Que faites-vous là? Dites: Le Seigneur en a besoin et aussitôt il va lerenvoyer ici."	3 And if anyone will say to you: ‘What are you doing?’ Say that the Lord has need of him. And he will immediately send him here.”
4 Ils partirent et trouvèrent un ânon à l'attache près d'une porte, dehors, sur la rue, et ils le détachent.	4 And going out, they found the colt tied before the outer gate, at the meeting of two ways. And they untied him.
5 Quelques-uns de ceux qui se tenaient là leur dirent: "Qu'avez-vous à détacher cet ânon?"	5 And some of those who were standing there said to them, “What are you doing by releasing the colt?”
6 Ils dirent comme Jésus leur avait dit, et on les laissa faire.	6 And they spoke to them just as Jesus had instructed them. And they permitted them.
7 Ils amènent l'ânon à Jésus et ils mettent sur lui leurs manteaux et il s'assit dessus.	7 And they led the colt to Jesus. And they placed their garments on it; and he sat upon it.
8 Et beaucoup de gens étendirent leurs manteaux sur le chemin; d'autres, des jonchées de verdure qu'ilscoupaient dans les champs.	8 Then many spread their garments along the way; but others cut down leafy branches from trees and scattered them on the way.
9 Et ceux qui marchaient devant et ceux qui suivaient criaient: "Hosanna! Béni soit celui qui vient aunom du Seigneur!	9 And those who went ahead, and those who followed, cried out saying: “Hosanna! Blessed is he who has arrived in the name of the Lord.
10 Béni soit le Royaume qui vient, de notre père David! Hosanna au plus haut des cieux!"	10 Blessed is the advent of the kingdom of our father David. Hosanna in the highest!”
11 Il entra à Jérusalem dans le Temple et, après avoir tout regardé autour de lui, comme il était déjàtard, il sortit pour aller à Béthanie avec les Douze.	11 And he entered into Jerusalem, into the temple. And having looked around at everything, since it was now the evening hour, he went out to Bethania with the twelve.
12 Le lendemain, comme ils étaient sortis de Béthanie, il eut faim.	12 And the next day, as they were departing from Bethania, he was hungry.
13 Voyant de loin un figuier qui avait des feuilles, il alla voir s'il y trouverait quelque fruit, mais s'enétant approché, il ne trouva rien que des feuilles: car ce n'était pas la saison des figues.	13 And when he had seen a fig tree with leaves in the distance, he went to it, in case he might find something on it. And when he had gone to it, he found nothing but leaves. For it was not the season for figs.
14 S'adressant au figuier, il lui dit: "Que jamais plus personne ne mange de tes fruits!" Et ses disciplesl'entendaient.	14 And in response, he said to it, “From now on and forever, may no one eat fruit from you again!” And his disciples heard this.
15 Ils arrivent à Jérusalem. Etant entré dans le Temple, il se mit à chasser les vendeurs et les acheteursqui s'y trouvaient: il culbuta les tables des changeurs et les sièges des marchands de colombes,	15 And they went to Jerusalem. And when he had entered into the temple, he began to cast out the sellers and the buyers in the temple. And he overturned the tables of the moneychangers and the chairs of the vendors of doves.
16 et il ne laissait personne transporter d'objet à travers le Temple.	16 And he would not permit anyone to carry goods through the temple.
17 Et il les enseignait et leur disait: "N'est-il pas écrit: Ma maison sera appelée une maison de prièrepour toutes les nations? Mais vous, vous en avez fait un repaire de brigands!"	17 And he taught them, saying: “Is it not written: ‘For my house shall be called the house of prayer for all nations?’ But you have made it into a den of robbers.”
18 Cela vint aux oreilles des grands prêtres et des scribes et ils cherchaient comment le faire périr; carils le craignaient, parce que tout le peuple était ravi de son enseignement.	18 And when the leaders of the priests, and the scribes, had heard this, they sought a means by which they might destroy him. For they feared him, because the entire multitude was in admiration over his doctrine.
19 Le soir venu, il s'en allait hors de la ville.	19 And when evening had arrived, he departed from the city.
20 Passant au matin, ils virent le figuier desséché jusqu'aux racines.	20 And when they passed by in the morning, they saw that the fig tree had dried up from the roots.
21 Et Pierre, se ressouvenant, lui dit: "Rabbi, regarde: le figuier que tu as maudit est desséché."	21 And Peter, remembering, said to him, “Master, behold, the fig tree that you cursed has withered.”
22 En réponse, Jésus leur dit: "Ayez foi en Dieu.	22 And in response, Jesus said to them: “Have the faith of God.
23 En vérité je vous le dis, si quelqu'un dit à cette montagne: Soulève-toi et jette-toi dans la mer, et s'iln'hésite pas dans son coeur, mais croit que ce qu'il dit va arriver, cela lui sera accordé.	23 Amen I say to you, that whoever will say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and who will not have hesitated in his heart, but will have believed: then whatever he has said be done, it shall be done for him.
24 C'est pourquoi je vous dis: tout ce que vous demandez en priant, croyez que vous l'avez déjà reçu, etcela vous sera accordé.	24 For this reason, I say to you, all things whatsoever that you ask for when praying: believe that you will receive them, and they will happen for you.
25 Et quand vous êtes debout en prière, si vous avez quelque chose contre quelqu'un, remettez-lui, afinque votre Père qui est aux cieux vous remette aussi vos offenses.	25 And when you stand to pray, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your sins.
	26 But if you will not forgive, neither will your Father, who is in heaven, forgive you your sins.”
27 Ils viennent de nouveau à Jérusalem. Et tandis qu'il circule dans le Temple, les grands prêtres, lesscribes et les anciens viennent à lui	27 And they went again to Jerusalem. And when he was walking in the temple, the leaders of the priests, and the scribes, and the elders approached him.
28 et ils lui disaient: "Par quelle autorité fais-tu cela? Ou qui t'a donné cette autorité pour le faire?"	28 And they said to him: “By what authority do you do these things? And who has given you this authority, so that you would do these things?”
29 Jésus leur dit: "Je vous poserai une seule question. Répondez-moi et je vous dirai par quelle autoritéje fais cela.	29 But in response, Jesus said to them: “I also will ask you one word, and if you answer me, I will tell you by what authority I do these things.
30 Le baptême de Jean était-il du Ciel ou des hommes? Répondez-moi."	30 The baptism of John: was it from heaven or from men? Answer me.”
31 Or ils se faisaient par-devers eux ce raisonnement: "Si nous disons: Du Ciel, il dira: Pourquoi doncn'avez-vous pas cru en lui?	31 But they discussed it among themselves, saying: “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’
32 Mais allons-nous dire: Des hommes?" Ils craignaient la foule car tous tenaient que Jean avait étéréellement un prophète.	32 If we say, ‘From men,’ we fear the people. For they all hold that John was a true prophet.”
33 Et ils font à Jésus cette réponse: "Nous ne savons pas." Et Jésus leur dit: "Moi non plus, je ne vousdis pas par quelle autorité je fais cela."	33 And answering, they said to Jesus, “We do not know.” And in response, Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”
