JERUSALEM	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 Yotam avait 25 ans à son avènement et il régna seize ans à Jérusalem; sa mère s'appelaitYerusha, fille de Sadoq.	1 Jotham was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother was named Jerusa, daughter of Zadok.
2 Il fit ce qui est agréable à Yahvé, imitant en tout la conduite de son père Ozias. Seulement iln'entra pas dans le sanctuaire de Yahvé. Mais le peuple continua à se perdre.	2 He pleased the LORD just as his father Uzziah had done, though he did not enter the temple of the LORD; the people, however, continued to act sinfully.
3 C'est lui qui construisit la Porte Supérieure du Temple de Yahvé, et fit de nombreux travauxau mur de l'Ophel.	3 He built the upper gate of the LORD'S house and had much construction done on the wall of Ophel.
4 Il construisit des villes dans la montagne de Juda ainsi que des citadelles et des tours dans lesterres labourables.	4 Moreover, he built cities in the hill country of Judah, and in the forest land he set up fortresses and towers.
5 Il combattit le roi des Ammonites. Il l'emporta sur eux et les Ammonites lui livrèrent cetteannée-là cent talents d'argent, 10.000 muids de froment et 10.000 d'orge. C'est cela que les Ammonites durent luirendre; il en fut de même la seconde et la troisième année.	5 He fought with the king of the Ammonites and conquered them. That year the Ammonites paid him one hundred talents of silver, together with ten thousand kors of wheat and ten thousand of barley. They brought the same to him also in the second and in the third year.
6 Yotam devint puissant, car il se conduisait avec fermeté en présence de Yahvé son Dieu.	6 Thus Jotham continued to grow strong because he lived resolutely in the presence of the LORD, his God.
7 Le reste de l'histoire de Yotam, toutes ses guerres et sa politique, est écrit dans le livre desrois d'Israël et de Juda.	7 The rest of the acts of Jotham, his wars and his activities, can be found written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.
8 Il avait 25 ans à son avènement et il régna seize ans à Jérusalem.	8 He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem.
9 Puis Yotam se coucha avec ses pères, on l'enterra dans la Cité de David, et son fils Achazdevint roi à sa place.	9 Jotham rested with his ancestors and was buried in the City of David, and his son Ahaz succeeded him as king.
