1 Stoga, braćo sveta, sudionici nebeskoga poziva, promotrite Apostola i Velikoga svećenika naše vjere – Isusa:	1 That is why al you who are holy brothers and share the same heavenly cal should turn your minds toJesus, the apostle and the high priest of our profession of faith.
2 on je ovjerovljen kod Onoga koji ga postavi kao ono i Mojsije u svoj kući njegovoj.	2 He was trustworthy to the one who appointed him, just like Moses, who remained trustworthy in all hishousehold;
3 Dostojan je doista toliko veće slave od Mojsija koliko veću čast od kuće ima onaj tko ju je sagradio.	3 but he deserves a greater glory than Moses, just as the builder of a house is more honoured than thehouse itself.
4 Jer svaku kuću tkogod gradi, a sve je sagradio Bog.	4 Every house is built by someone, of course; but God built everything that exists.
5 Da, i Mojsije bijaše ovjerovljen u svoj kući njegovoj kao služnik da posvjedoči za ono što je imalo biti rečeno,	5 It is true that Moses was trustworthy in the household of God, as a servant is, acting as witness to thethings which were yet to be revealed,
6 ali Krist – kao Sin, nad kućom njegovom. Njegova smo kuća mi ako sačuvamo smjelost i ponos nade.	6 but Christ is trustworthy as a son is, over his household. And we are his household, as long as wefearlessly maintain the hope in which we glory.
7 Zato, kao što veli Duh Sveti: Danas ako glas mu čujete,	7 That is why, as the Holy Spirit says: If only you would listen to him today!
8 ne budite srca tvrda kao u Pobuni, kao u dan iskušenja u pustinji	8 Do not harden your hearts, as at the rebel ion, as at the time of testing in the desert,
9 gdje me kušnjom iskušavahu očevi vaši premda gledahu djela moja	9 when your ancestors chal enged me, and put me to the test, and saw what I could do
10 četrdeset godina. Zato mi dodija naraštaj onaj pa rekoh: Uvijek su nestalna srca i ne proniču moje putove.	10 for forty years. That was why that generation sickened me and I said, 'Always fickle hearts, thatcannot grasp my ways!'
11 Tako se zakleh u svom gnjevu: Nikad neće ući u moj počinak!	11 And then in my anger I swore that they would never enter my place of rest.
12 Pazite, braćo, da ne bi u koga od vas srce bilo opako, nevjerno, odmetnulo se od Boga živoga.	12 Take care, brothers, that none of you ever has a wicked heart, so unbelieving as to turn away from theliving God.
13 Pače hrabrite jedni druge dan za danom dok još odjekuje ono Danas da ne otvrdne tko od vas zaveden grijehom.	13 Every day, as long as this today lasts, keep encouraging one another so that none of you is hardenedby the lure of sin,
14 Doista, sudionici smo Kristovi postali ako, dakako, ono prvo imanje stalnim sačuvamo	14 because we have been granted a share with Christ only if we keep the grasp of our first confidencefirm to the end.
15 kad je rečeno: Danas ako glas mu čujete, ne budite srca tvrda kao u Pobuni!	15 In this saying: If only you would listen to him today; do not harden your hearts, as at the Rebel ion,
16 Jer, koji su to čuli pa se pobunili? Zar ne svi koji su pod Mojsijem izašli iz Egipta?	16 who was it who listened and then rebelled? Surely al those whom Moses led out of Egypt.
17 Koji li mu dodijavahu četrdeset godina? Zar ne oni koji sagriješiše, kojih mrtva tijela popadaše u pustinji?	17 And with whom was he angry for forty years? Surely with those who sinned and whose dead bodiesfel in the desert.
18 Kojima se zakle da neće ući u njegov počinak, ako li ne nepokornima?	18 To whom did he swear they would never enter his place of rest? Surely those who would not believe.
19 I vidimo da ne mogoše ući zbog nevjere.	19 So we see that it was their refusal to believe which prevented them from entering.
