EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Por eso, hermanos míos muy queridos, a quienes tanto deseo ver, ustedes que son mi alegría y mi corona, amados míos, perseveren firmemente en el Señor.	1 So then, my brothers and dear friends whom I miss so much, my joy and my crown, hold firm in theLord, dear friends.
2 Exhorto a Evodia y a Síntique que se pongan de acuerdo en el Señor.	2 I urge Euodia, and I urge Syntyche to come to agreement with each other in the Lord;
3 Y a ti, mi fiel compañero, te pido que las ayudes, porque ellas lucharon conmigo en la predicación del Evangelio, junto con Clemente y mis demás colaboradores, cuyos nombres están escritos en el Libro de la Vida.	3 and I ask you, Syzygus, real y to be a 'partner' and help them. These women have struggled hard for thegospel with me, along with Clement and al my other fel ow-workers, whose names are written in the book of life.
4 Alégrense siempre en el Señor. Vuelvo a insistir, alégrense.	4 Always be joyful, then, in the Lord; I repeat, be joyful.
5 Que la bondad de ustedes sea conocida por todos los hombres. El Señor está cerca.	5 Let your good sense be obvious to everybody. The Lord is near.
6 No se angustien por nada, y en cualquier circunstancia, recurran a la oración y a la súplica, acompañadas de acción de gracias, para presentar sus peticiones a Dios.	6 Never worry about anything; but tel God all your desires of every kind in prayer and petition shotthrough with gratitude,
7 Entonces la paz de Dios, que supera todo lo que podemos pensar, tomará bajo su cuidado los corazones y los pensamientos de ustedes en Cristo Jesús.	7 and the peace of God which is beyond our understanding wil guard your hearts and your thoughts inChrist Jesus.
8 En fin, mis hermanos, todo lo que es verdadero y noble, todo lo que es justo y puro, todo lo que es amable y digno de honra, todo lo que haya de virtuoso y merecedor de alabanza, debe ser el objeto de sus pensamientos.	8 Finally, brothers, let your minds be fil ed with everything that is true, everything that is honourable,everything that is upright and pure, everything that we love and admire -- with whatever is good andpraiseworthy.
9 Pongan en práctica lo que han aprendido y recibido, lo que han oído y visto en mí, y el Dios de la paz estará con ustedes.	9 Keep doing everything you learnt from me and were told by me and have heard or seen me doing. Thenthe God of peace will be with you.
10 Yo tuve una gran alegría en el Señor cuando vi florecer los buenos sentimientos de ustedes con respecto a mí; ciertamente los tenían, pero les faltaba la ocasión de demostrarlos.	10 As for me, I am full of joy in the Lord, now that at last your consideration for me has blossomed again;though I recognise that you really did have consideration before, but had no opportunity to show it.
11 No es la necesidad la que me hace hablar, porque he aprendido a hacer frente a cualquier situación.	11 I do not say this because I have lacked anything; I have learnt to manage with whatever I have.
12 Yo sé vivir tanto en las privaciones como en la abundancia; estoy hecho absolutamente a todo, a la saciedad como al hambre, a tener sobra como a no tener nada.	12 I know how to live modestly, and I know how to live luxuriously too: in every way now I have masteredthe secret of al conditions: ful stomach and empty stomach, plenty and poverty.
13 Yo lo puedo todo en aquel que me conforta.	13 There is nothing I cannot do in the One who strengthens me.
14 Sin embargo, ustedes hicieron bien en interesarse por mis necesidades.	14 Al the same, it was good of you to share with me in my hardships.
15 Y ya saben, filipenses, que al comienzo de la evangelización, cuando dejé Macedonia, ninguna otra iglesia me ayudó pecuniariamente. Ustedes fueron los únicos	15 In the early days of the gospel, as you of Philippi wel know, when I left Macedonia, no church otherthan yourselves made common account with me in the matter of expenditure and receipts. You were the onlyones;
16 que cuando estaba en Tesalónica, en dos ocasiones me enviaron medios para asistirme en mis necesidades.	16 and what is more, you have twice sent me what I needed in Thessalonica.
17 No es que yo busque regalos; solamente quiero darles la ocasión de que ustedes se enriquezcan cada vez más delante de Dios.	17 It is not the gift that I value most; what I value is the interest that is mounting up in your account.
18 Por el momento, tengo todo lo necesario y más todavía. Vivo en la abundancia desde que Epafrodito me entregó la ofrenda de ustedes, como perfume de aroma agradable, como sacrificio aceptable y grato a Dios.	18 I have al that I need and more: I am ful y provided, now that I have received from Epaphroditus theoffering that you sent, a pleasing smel , the sacrifice which is acceptable and pleasing to God.
19 Dios colmará con magnificencia todas las necesidades de ustedes, conforme a su riqueza, en Cristo Jesús.	19 And my God will fulfil al your needs out of the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
20 A Dios, nuestro Padre, sea la gloria por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.	20 And so glory be to God our Father, for ever and ever. Amen.
21 Saluden a cada uno de los santos en Cristo Jesús. Los hermanos que están conmigo los saludan a ustedes.	21 My greetings to every one of God's holy people in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me sendyou their greetings.
22 Reciban el saludo de todos los santos, especialmente los de la casa imperial.	22 Al God's holy people send you their greetings, especially those of Caesar's household.
23 La gracia del Señor Jesucristo esté con ustedes.	23 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
