| 2 Le Seigneur a été très irrité contre vos pères. | 2 "The LORD was very angry with your fathers. |
| 3 Tu leur diras: Ainsi parle le Seigneur des armées: Revenez à Moi, dit le Seigneur des armées, et Je reviendrai à vous, dit le Seigneur des armées. | 3 Therefore say to them, Thus says the LORD of hosts: Return to me, says the LORD of hosts, and I will return to you, says the LORD of hosts. |
| 4 Ne soyez pas comme vos pères, auxquels les premiers prophètes criaient en disant: Ainsi parle le Seigneur des armées: Revenez de vos voies mauvaises et de vos pensées infâmes; et cependant ils n'ont pas écouté, et ils n'ont pas fait attention à Moi, dit le Seigneur. | 4 Be not like your fathers, to whom the former prophets cried out, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts, Return from your evil ways and from your evil deeds.' But they did not hear or heed me, says the LORD. |
| 5 Vos pères, où sont-ils? et les prophètes vivront-ils éternellement? | 5 Your fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live for ever? |
| 6 Cependant Mes paroles et les ordres que J'avais donnés à Mes serviteurs les prophètes n'ont-ils pas atteint vos pères, et ne se sont-ils pas convertis, en disant: Le Seigneur des armées a exécuté Sa résolution de nous traiter selon nos voies et selon nos oeuvres? | 6 But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not overtake your fathers? So they repented and said, As the LORD of hosts purposed to deal with us for our ways and deeds, so has he dealt with us." |
| 7 Le vingt-quatrième jour du onzième mois, appelé sabath, la seconde année de Darius, la parole du Seigneur fut adressée au prophète Zacharie, fils de Barachie, fils d'Addo, en ces termes: | 7 On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month which is the month of Shebat, in the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, son of Iddo, the prophet; and Zechariah said, |
| 8 J'eus une vision pendant la nuit, et voici, il y avait un homme monté sur un cheval roux, et il se tenait parmi des myrtes plantés dans un lieu profond, et il y avait derrière lui des chevaux roux, marquetés et blancs. | 8 "I saw in the night, and behold, a man riding upon a red horse! He was standing among the myrtle trees in the glen; and behind him were red, sorrel, and white horses. |
| 9 Et je dis: Qui sont ceux-ci, mon seigneur? Et l'Ange qui parlait en moi me dit: Je te montrerai ce que sont ces choses. | 9 Then I said, 'What are these, my lord?' The angel who talked with me said to me, 'I will show you what they are.' |
| 10 Alors l'homme qui se tenait parmi les myrtes prit la parole et dit: Ce sont ceux que le Seigneur a envoyés pour parcourir la terre. | 10 So the man who was standing among the myrtle trees answered, 'These are they whom the LORD has sent to patrol the earth.' |
| 11 Et ils s'adressèrent à l'Ange du Seigneur qui se tenait parmi les myrtes, et ils dirent: Nous avons parcouru la terre, et voici, toute la terre est habitée, et elle est en repos. | 11 And they answered the angel of the LORD who was standing among the myrtle trees, 'We have patrolled the earth, and behold, all the earth remains at rest.' |
| 12 L'Ange du Seigneur prit la parole, et dit: Seigneur des armées, jusques à quand n'aurez-Vous pas pitié de Jérusalem et des villes de Juda, contre lesquelles Vous êtes irrité? Voici déjà la soixante-dixième année. | 12 Then the angel of the LORD said, 'O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou have no mercy on Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these seventy years?' |
| 13 Alors le Seigneur répondit à l'Ange qui parlait en moi de bonnes paroles, des paroles de consolation. | 13 And the LORD answered gracious and comforting words to the angel who talked with me. |
| 14 Et l'Ange qui parlait en moi me dit: Crie, et dis: Ainsi parle le Seigneur des armées: Je ressens une grande jalousie pour Jérusalem et pour Sion. | 14 So the angel who talked with me said to me, 'Cry out, Thus says the LORD of hosts: I am exceedingly jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion. |
| 15 Et J'éprouve une grande colère contre les nations puissantes; car Je n'étais qu'un peu irrité, mais elles ont contribué au mal. | 15 And I am very angry with the nations that are at ease; for while I was angry but a little they furthered the disaster. |
| 16 C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur: Je reviendrai à Jérusalem avec miséricorde; Ma maison y sera bâtie, dit le Seigneur des armées, et le cordeau sera étendu sur Jérusalem. | 16 Therefore, thus says the LORD, I have returned to Jerusalem with compassion; my house shall be built in it, says the LORD of hosts, and the measuring line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem. |
| 17 Crie encore, et dis: Ainsi parle le Seigneur des armées: Mes villes auront encore des biens en abondance; le Seigneur consolera encore Sion et choisira encore Jérusalem. | 17 Cry again, Thus says the LORD of hosts: My cities shall again overflow with prosperity, and the LORD will again comfort Zion and again choose Jerusalem.'" |
| 18 Je levai les yeux, et je regardai; et voici, il y avait quatre cornes. | 18 And I lifted my eyes and saw, and behold, four horns! |
| 19 Et je dis à l'Ange qui parlait en moi: Qu'est-ce que cela? Il me répondit: Ce sont les cornes qui ont dispersé Juda, Israël et Jérusalem. | 19 And I said to the angel who talked with me, "What are these?" And he answered me, "These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem." |
| 20 Le Seigneur me fit voir ensuite quatre forgerons. | 20 Then the LORD showed me four smiths. |
| 21 Et je dis: Que viennent faire ceux-ci? Il répondit: Ce sont les cornes qui ont dispersé tous les hommes de Juda, et aucun d'eux ne lève la tête; et ceux-ci sont venus pour les effrayer, et pour abattre les cornes des nations, qui ont élevé la corne contre le pays de Juda, pour en disperser les habitants. | 21 And I said, "What are these coming to do?" He answered, "These are the horns which scattered Judah, so that no man raised his head; and these have come to terrify them, to cast down the horns of the nations who lifted up their horns against the land of Judah to scatter it." |
