| 1 Malheur aux pasteurs qui font périr et qui déchirent les brebis de Mon pâturage, dit le Seigneur. | 1 Woe to the pastors, that destroy and tear the sheep of my pasture, saith the Lord. |
| 2 C'est pourquoi voici ce que dit le Seigneur, le Dieu d'Israël, aux pasteurs qui paissent Mon peuple : Vous avez dispersé Mes brebis, vous les avez chassées, et vous ne les avez pas visitées; et Moi Je vous visiterai pour punir le dérèglement de vos penchants, dit le Seigneur. | 2 Therefore thus saith the Lord the God of Israel to the pastors that feed my people: You have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold I will visit upon you for the evil of your doings, saith the Lord. |
| 3 Je rassemblerai le reste de Mes brebis, de tous les pays où Je les aurai chassées; Je les ramènerai à leurs champs, et elles croîtront et se multiplieront. | 3 And I will gather together the remnant of my flock, out of all the lands into which I have cast them out: and I will make them return to their own fields, and they shall increase and be multiplied. |
| 4 Et J'établirai sur elles des pasteurs qui les feront paître; elles ne seront plus dans la crainte et l'épouvante, et il ne s'en perdra pas une seule, dit le Seigneur. | 4 And I will set up pastors over them, and they shall feed them: they shall fear no more, and they shall not be dismayed: and none shall be wanting of their number, saith the Lord. |
| 5 Voici, les jours viennent, dit le Seigneur, et Je susciterai un Germe juste; un Roi régnera et sera sage, et Il pratiquera l'équité et la justice dans le pays. | 5 Behold the days come, saith the Lord, and I will raise up to David a just branch: and a king shall reign, and shall be wise, and shall execute judgement and justice in the earth. |
| 6 En ces jours-là Juda sera sauvé, et Israël habitera en sécurité; et voici le nom dont on L'appellera : Le Seigneur notre Juste. | 6 In those days shall Juda be saved, and Israel shall dwell confidently: and this is the name that they shall call him: the Lord our just one. |
| 7 C'est pourquoi les jours viennent, dit le Seigneur, où on ne dira plus : Vive le Seigneur qui a tiré les enfants d'Israël du pays d'Egypte, | 7 Therefore behold the days to come, saith the Lord, and they shall say no more: The Lord liveth, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt: |
| 8 mais : Vive le Seigneur qui a tiré et ramené la race de la maison d'Israël de la terre de l'aquilon, et de tous les pays où Je les avais chassés, et ils habiteront dans leur pays. | 8 But the Lord liveth, who hath brought out, and brought hither the seed of the house of Israel from the land of the north, and out of all the lands, to which I had cast them forth: and they shall dwell in their own land. |
| 9 Aux prophètes. Mon coeur s'est brisé au dedans de moi, tous mes os ont tremblé; je suis devenus comme un homme ivre, et comme un homme rempli de vin, en face du Seigneur et en face de Ses paroles saintes. | 9 To the prophets: My heart is broken within me, all my bones tremble: I am become as a drunken man, and as a man full of wine, at the presence of the Lord, and at the presence of his holy words. |
| 10 Car le pays est rempli d'adultères, le pays pleure à cause de la malédiction, les champs du désert se sont desséchés; ils s'élancent vers le mal, et leur force n'est plus la même. | 10 Because the land is full of adulterers, because the land hath mourned by reason of cursing, the fields of the desert are dried up: and their course is become evil, and their strength unlike. |
| 11 Car le prophète et le prêtre sont corrompus, et dans Ma maison J'ai trouvé leur malice, dit le Seigneur. | 11 For the prophet and the priest are defiled: and in my house I have found their wickedness, saith the Lord. |
| 12 C'est pourquoi leur voie sera comme un chemin glissant dans les ténèbres; on les poussera, et ils y tomberont; car Je ferai venir des maux sur eux, l'année où Je les visiterai, dit le Seigneur. | 12 Therefore their way shall be as a slippery way in the dark: for they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evils upon them, the year of their visitation, saith the Lord. |
| 13 J'ai vu de l'extravagance dans les prophètes de Samarie; ils prophétisaient par Baal, et ils égaraient Mon peuple d'Israël. | 13 And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria: they prophesied in Baal, and deceived my people Israel. |
| 14 Et dans les prophètes de Jérusalem J'ai vu la ressemblance de l'adultère et la voie du mensonge; ils ont fortifié les mains des méchants, afin qu'aucun ne se convertît de sa méchanceté; ils sont tous devenus pour Moi comme Sodome, et les habitants de Jérusalem comme Gomorrhe. | 14 And I have seen the likeness of adulterers, and the way of lying in the peophets of Jerusalem: and they strengthened the hand of the wicked, that no man should return from his evil doings: that are all become unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gamorrha. |
| 15 C'est pourquoi voici ce que le Seigneur des armées dit aux prophètes : Je les nourrirai d'absinthe, et Je les abreuverai de fiel, car c'est par les prophètes de Jérusalem que la corruption s'est répandue sur toute la terre. | 15 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts to the prophets: Behold I will feed them with wormwood, and I will give them gall to drink: for from the prophets of Jerusalem corruption has gone forth into all the land. |
| 16 Ainsi parle le Seigneur des armées : N'écoutez point les paroles des prophètes qui vous prophétisent et qui vous trompent; ils profèrent les visions de leur coeur, et non ce qui vient de la bouche du Seigneur. | 16 Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Hearken not to the words of the prophets that prophesy to you, and deceive you: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the Lord. |
| 17 Ils disent à ceux qui Me blasphèment : Le Seigneur a dit : Vous aurez la paix; et ils disent à tous ceux qui marchent dans la corruption de leur coeur : Il ne vous arrivera aucun mal. | 17 They say tothem that blaspheme me: The Lord hath said: You shall have peace: and to every one that walketh in the perverseness of his own heart, they have said: No evil shall come to you. |
| 18 Mais qui d'entre eux a assisté au conseil du Seigneur? qui L'a vu et qui a entendu Sa parole? qui a considéré Sa parole et l'a entendue? | 18 For who hath stood in the counsel of the Lord, and hath seen and heard his word? Who hath considered his word and heard it? |
| 19 Voici que le tourbillon de la colère du Seigneur va venir, et la tempête déchaînée tombera sur la tête des impies, | 19 Behold the whirlwind of the Lord's indignation shall come forth, and a tempest shall break out and come upon the head of the wicked. |
| 20 La fureur du Seigneur ne se relâchera pas, jusqu'à ce qu'elle exécute et qu'elle accomplisse la pensée de Son coeur; aux derniers jours vous comprendrez Son dessein. | 20 The wrath of the Lord shall not return till he execute it, and till he accomplish the thought of his heart: in the latter days you shall understand his counsel. |
| 21 Je n'envoyais pas ces prophètes, et ils couraient d'eux-mêmes; Je ne leur parlais pas, et ils prophétisaient. | 21 I did not send prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. |
| 22 S'ils s'étaient conformés à Mes desseins, et s'ils avaient fait connaître Mes paroles à Mon peuple, Je les aurais retirés de leur voie mauvaise et de leurs pensées perverses. | 22 If they stood in my counsel, and had made my words known to my people, I should have turned them from their evil way and from their wicked doings. |
| 23 Ne suis-Je Dieu que de près, dit le Seigneur, et ne suis-Je pas Dieu de loin? | 23 Am I, think ye, a God at hand, saith the Lord, and not a God afar off? |
| 24 Si quelqu'un se cache dans des lieux secrets, ne le verrai-Je pas? dit le Seigneur. Est-ce que Je ne remplis pas le ciel et la terre? dit le Seigneur. | 24 Shall a man be hid in secret places, and I not see him, saith the Lord? do not I fill heaven and earth, saith the Lord? |
| 25 J'ai entendu ce qu'ont dit les prophètes qui prédisent le mensonge en Mon nom, et qui disent : J'ai eu un songe, J'ai eu un songe. | 25 I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesylies in my name, and say: I have dreamed, I have dreamed. |
| 26 Jusques à quand cette imagination sera-t-elle dans le coeur des prophètes qui prédisent le mensonge, et qui prophétisent les séductions de leur coeur; | 26 How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies, and that prophesy the delusions of their own heart? |
| 27 qui veulent faire que Mon peuple oublie Mon nom, à cause de leurs songes que chacun d'eux raconte à son prochain, comme leurs pères ont oublié Mon nom à cause de Baal? | 27 Who seek to make my people forget my name through their dreams, which they tell every man to his neighbor: as their fathers forgot my name for Baal. |
| 28 Que le prophète qui a eu un songe raconte ce songe, et que celui qui a entendu Ma parole rapporte fidèlement Ma parole. Qu'y a-t-il de commun entre la paille et le blé? dit le Seigneur. | 28 The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream: and he that hath my word, let him speak my word with truth: what hath the chaff to do with the wheat, saith the Lord? |
| 29 Mes paroles ne sont-elles pas comme du feu, dit le Seigneur, et comme un marteau qui brise la pierre? | 29 Are not my words as a fire, saith the Lord: and as a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? |
| 30 C'est pourquoi voici que Je viens aux prophètes, dit le Seigneur, qui dérobent Mes paroles chacun à son prochain. | 30 Therefore behold I am against the prophets, saith the Lord: who steal my words every one from his neighbor. |
| 31 Voici que Je viens aux prophètes, dit le Seigneur, qui se servent de leur langue, et qui disent : Ainsi parle le Seigneur. | 31 Behold I am against the prophets, saith the Lord: who use their tongues, and say: The Lord saith it. |
| 32 Voici que Je viens aux prophètes qui ont des visions de mensonge, dit le Seigneur, qui les racontent et qui séduisent Mon peuple par leurs mensonges et par leurs miracles, quoique Je ne les aie pas envoyés, et que Je ne leur aie donné aucun ordre, et qu'ils ne servent de rien à ce peuple, dit le Seigneur. | 32 Behold I am against the prophets that have lying dreams, saith the Lord: and tell them, and cause my people to err by their lying, and by their wonders: when I sent them not, nor commanded them, who have not profited this people at all, saith the Lord. |
| 33 Si donc ce peuple, ou un prophète, ou un prêtre t'interroge et te dit : Quel est le fardeau du Seigneur? tu leur diras : C'est vous qui êtes le fardeau, car Je vous jetterai, dit le Seigneur. | 33 If therefore this people, or the prophet, or the priest shall ask thee, saying: What is the burden of the Lord? thou shalt say to them: You are the burden: for I will cast you away, saith the Lord. |
| 34 Et si un prophète, ou un prêtre, ou le peuple dit : Fardeau du Seigneur, Je visiterai cet homme-là et sa maison. | 34 And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people that shall say: The burden of the Lord: I will visit upon that man, and upon his house. |
| 35 Vous direz chacun à son prochain et à son frère : Qu'a répondu le Seigneur? et qu'a dit le Seigneur? | 35 Thus shall you say every one to his neighbor, and to his brother: What hath the Lord answered? and what hath the Lord spoken? |
| 36 Et on ne mentionnera plus le fardeau du Seigneur; car la parole de chacun sera son propre fardeau, parce que vous avez perverti les paroles du Dieu vivant, du Seigneur des armées, notre Dieu. | 36 And the burden of the Lord shall be mentioned no more, for every man's word shall be his burden: for you have perverted the words of the living God, of the Lord of hosts our God. |
| 37 Tu diras au prophète : Que t'a répndu le Seigneur? et qu'est-ce que le Seigneur a dit? | 37 Thus shalt thou say to the prophet: What hath the Lord answered thee? and what hath the Lord spoken? |
| 38 Si vous dites encore : Le fardeau du Seigneur, alors ainsi parle le Seigneur : Parce que vous avez dit ce mot : Le fardeau du Seigneur, quoique Je vous eusse envoyé dire : Ne dites pas : Le fardeau du Seigneur, | 38 But if you shall say: The burden of the Lord: therefore thus saith the Lord: Because you have said this word: The burden of the Lord: and I have sent to you saying: Say not, Tne burden of the Lord: |
| 39 à cause de cela, voici que Je vous prendrai Moi-même, et Je vous emporterai, et Je vous abandonnerai loin de Ma face, vous et la ville que J'ai donnée à vous et à vos pères; | 39 Therefore behold I will take you away carrying you, and will forsake you, and the city which I gave to you, and to your fathers, out of my presence. |
| 40 et Je vous couvrirai d'un opprobre éternel et d'une ignominie éternelle, dont la mémoire ne s'effacera jamais. | 40 And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame which shall never be forgotten. |
