| 2 Parlez aux enfants d'Israël, et dites-leur: Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu. | 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the LORD your God. |
| 3 Vous n'agirez point selon les coutumes du pays d'Egypte, où vous avez habité; et vous ne vous conduirez point selon les moeurs du pays de Chanaan, dans lequel Je vous ferai entrer; vous ne suivrez point leurs règles. | 3 After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances. |
| 4 Vous exécuterez Mes ordonnances, vous observerez Mes préceptes, et vous marcherez selon ce qu'ils vous prescrivent. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu. | 4 Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God. |
| 5 Gardez Mes lois et Mes ordonnances. L'homme qui les gardera y trouvera la vie. Je suis le Seigneur. | 5 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD. |
| 6 Nul homme ne s'approchera de celle qui lui est unie par la proximité du sang, pour découvrir ce que la pudeur veut laisser caché. Je suis le Seigneur. | 6 None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am the LORD. |
| 7 Vous ne découvrirez point dans votre mère ce qui doit être caché, en violant le respect dû à votre père; elle est votre mère, vous ne découvrirez rien en elle contre la pudeur. | 7 The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. |
| 8 Vous ne découvrirez point dans la femme de votre père ce qui doit être caché, parce que vous blesseriez le respect dû à votre père. | 8 The nakedness of thy father's wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father's nakedness. |
| 9 Vous ne découvrirez point ce qui doit être caché dans celle qui est votre soeur de père ou votre soeur de mère, qu'elle soit née ou dans la maison ou hors de la maison. | 9 The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or daughter of thy mother, whether she be born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover. |
| 10 Vous ne découvrirez point ce qui doit être caché dans la fille de votre fils, ou dans la fille de votre fille, parce que ce serait votre propre confusion. | 10 The nakedness of thy son's daughter, or of thy daughter's daughter, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover: for theirs is thine own nakedness. |
| 11 Vous ne découvrirez point ce qui doit être caché dans la fille de la femme de votre père, et qu'elle a enfanté à votre père, car elle est votre soeur. | 11 The nakedness of thy father's wife's daughter, begotten of thy father, she is thy sister, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. |
| 12 Vous ne découvrirez point ce qui doit être caché dans la soeur de votre père, parce que c'est la chair de votre père. | 12 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's sister: she is thy father's near kinswoman. |
| 13 Vous ne découvrirez point ce qui doit être caché dans la soeur de votre mère, parce que c'est la chair de votre mère. | 13 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister: for she is thy mother's near kinswoman. |
| 14 Vous ne découvrirez point ce que le respect dû à votre oncle paternel veut laisser caché, et vous ne vous approcherez point de sa femme, parce qu'elle vous est unie par une étroite alliance. | 14 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's brother, thou shalt not approach to his wife: she is thine aunt. |
| 15 Vous ne découvrirez point ce qui doit être caché dans votre belle-fille, parce qu'elle est la femme de votre fils, et vous y laisserez couvert ce que le respect veut laisser caché. | 15 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter in law: she is thy son's wife; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. |
| 16 Vous ne découvrirez point ce qui doit être caché dans la femme de votre frère, parce que ce respect est dû à votre frère. | 16 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother's wife: it is thy brother's nakedness. |
| 17 Vous ne découvrirez point tout ensemble dans votre femme et dans sa fille ce qui doit être caché. Vous ne prendrez point la fille de son fils, ni la fille de sa fille, pour découvrir ce que l'honnêteté veut laisser caché, parce qu'elles sont la chair de votre femme, et qu'une telle alliance est un inceste. | 17 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, neither shalt thou take her son's daughter, or her daughter's daughter, to uncover her nakedness; for they are her near kinswomen: it is wickedness. |
| 18 Vous ne prendrez point la soeur de votre femme pour la rendre sa rivale, et vous ne découvrirez point en elle, du vivant de votre femme, ce que la pudeur veut laisser caché. | 18 Neither shalt thou take a wife to her sister, to vex her, to uncover her nakedness, beside the other in her life time. |
| 19 Vous ne vous approcherez point d'une femme qui souffre ce qui arrive tous les mois, et vous ne découvrirez point en elle ce qui n'est pas pur. | 19 Also thou shalt not approach unto a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is put apart for her uncleanness. |
| 20 Vous ne vous approcherez point de la femme de votre prochain, et vous ne vous souillerez point par cette union honteuse et illégitime. | 20 Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour's wife, to defile thyself with her. |
| 21 Vous ne donnerez point de vos enfants pour être consacrés à l'idole de Moloch, et vous ne souillerez point le nom de votre Dieu. Je suis le Seigneur. | 21 And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD. |
| 22 Vous ne commettrez point cette abomination où l'on se sert d'un homme comme si c'était une femme. | 22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. |
| 23 Vous ne vous approcherez d'aucune bête, et vous ne vous souillerez point avec elle. La femme ne se prostituera point aussi en cette manière à une bête, parce que c'est un crime abominable. | 23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion. |
| 24 Vous ne vous souillerez point par toutes ces infamies dont se sont souillés tous les peuples que Je chasserai devant vous, | 24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: |
| 25 Qui ont déshonoré ce pays-là; et Je punirai moi-même les crimes détestables de cette terre, afin qu'elle rejette avec horreur ses habitants hors de son sein. | 25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants. |
| 26 Gardez Mes lois et Mes ordonnances, et que ni les Israélites ni les étrangers qui sont venus d'ailleurs demeurer chez vous ne commettent aucune de toutes ces abominations. | 26 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you: |
| 27 Car ceux qui ont habité cette terre avant vous ont commis toutes ces infamies exécrables, et l'ont tout à fait souillée. | 27 (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;) |
| 28 Prenez donc garde que, si vous commettez les mêmes crimes qu'ils ont commis, cette terre ne vous rejette avec horreur hors de son sein, comme elle en a rejeté tous ces peuples qui l'ont habitée avant vous. | 28 That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you. |
| 29 Tout homme qui aura commis quelqu'une de ces abominations périra du milieu de son peuple. | 29 For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people. |
| 30 Gardez Mes commandements. Ne faites point ce qu'ont fait ceux qui étaient avant vous, et ne vous souillez point par ces infamies. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu. | 30 Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the LORD your God. |
