| 2 Fils d’homme, tourne ton regard vers Gog, du pays de Magog, le grand chef de Méchek et de Toubal; tu prophétiseras contre lui. | 2 "Son of man, set your face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him |
| 3 Tu diras: Voici ce que dit Yahvé: Je viens te chercher, Gog, grand chef de Méchek et de Toubal. | 3 and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal; |
| 4 Je te mettrai en marche avec toute ton armée, tes chevaux et tes cavaliers, tous magnifiquement vêtus, tes troupes nombreuses armées d’épées, de lances et de boucliers. | 4 and I will turn you about, and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you forth, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in full armor, a great company, all of them with buckler and shield, wielding swords; |
| 5 Là sont les Perses, les Kouchites et les gens de Pout, tous avec leurs armes et leurs casques; | 5 Persia, Cush, and Put are with them, all of them with shield and helmet; |
| 6 Gomer également avec toutes ses troupes, et Beth-Togorma venu des pays lointains du nord avec toutes ses troupes. Que de peuples avec toi! | 6 Gomer and all his hordes; Beth-togarmah from the uttermost parts of the north with all his hordes--many peoples are with you. |
| 7 Prépare-toi et soyez prêts, toi et toute l’armée que tu as rassemblée autour de toi, tiens-toi à ma disposition. | 7 "Be ready and keep ready, you and all the hosts that are assembled about you, and be a guard for them. |
| 8 Dans très longtemps tu recevras des ordres, après bien des années tu te mettras en route pour le pays dont les habitants ont échappé à l’épée; ils ont été rassemblés du milieu de nombreux peuples sur les montagnes d’Israël qui furent longtemps à l’abandon. Depuis qu’ils ont été séparés des autres peuples, ils habitent tous en paix. | 8 After many days you will be mustered; in the latter years you will go against the land that is restored from war, the land where people were gathered from many nations upon the mountains of Israel, which had been a continual waste; its people were brought out from the nations and now dwell securely, all of them. |
| 9 C’est alors que tu arriveras comme l’ouragan, que tu couvriras le pays comme font les nuages, toi et toute ton armée avec les nombreux peuples qui t’accompagnent. | 9 You will advance, coming on like a storm, you will be like a cloud covering the land you and all your hordes, and many peoples with you. |
| 10 Voici ce que dit Yahvé: En ce jour-là, des pensées te viendront à l’esprit et tu auras en tête de mauvais projets. | 10 "Thus says the Lord GOD: On that day thoughts will come into your mind, and you will devise an evil scheme |
| 11 Tu te diras: Je vais monter contre un pays sans défense, j’attaquerai des gens tranquilles qui habitent en paix dans des villes sans remparts, sans portes ni verrous. | 11 and say, 'I will go up against the land of unwalled villages; I will fall upon the quiet people who dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having no bars or gates'; |
| 12 J’emporterai leurs dépouilles et je ramasserai du butin, j’étendrai la main sur ces ruines qui se sont repeuplées, sur ce peuple revenu d’entre les nations, qui vit de l’élevage et du commerce et qui habite le nombril de la terre. | 12 to seize spoil and carry off plunder; to assail the waste places which are now inhabited, and the people who were gathered from the nations, who have gotten cattle and goods, who dwell at the center of the earth. |
| 13 Alors Chéba, Dédan, les commerçants de Tarsis et tous les autres te diront: “Est-ce pour ramasser des dépouilles que tu es venu? Est-ce pour emporter un butin que tu as rassemblé ton armée? Est-ce pour emporter de l’or et de l’argent, pour enlever des troupeaux et des trésors, pour ramasser des dépouilles en quantité?” | 13 Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish and all its villages will say to you, 'Have you come to seize spoil? Have you assembled your hosts to carry off plunder, to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to seize great spoil?' |
| 14 C’est pourquoi, fils d’homme, prophétise et dis à Gog de ma part: Ce jour viendra lorsque mon peuple Israël habitera en sécurité, c’est alors que tu tomberas sur lui. | 14 "Therefore, son of man, prophesy, and say to Gog, Thus says the Lord GOD: On that day when my people Israel are dwelling securely, you will bestir yourself |
| 15 Tu viendras de ton pays, aux extrémités du nord, avec des peuples nombreux, tous montés sur des chevaux, une grande, une immense armée. | 15 and come from your place out of the uttermost parts of the north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great host, a mighty army; |
| 16 Tu arriveras sur mon peuple Israël comme les nuages qui viennent couvrir le pays; cela se passera dans la suite des jours. Je veux te faire venir contre mon pays, Gog, pour que les nations me connaissent, car grâce à toi je manifesterai aux yeux de tous ma sainteté. | 16 you will come up against my people Israel, like a cloud covering the land. In the latter days I will bring you against my land, that the nations may know me, when through you, O Gog, I vindicate my holiness before their eyes. |
| 17 Voici ce que dit Yahvé: N’es-tu pas celui dont j’ai parlé dans les jours anciens par la bouche de mes serviteurs les prophètes d’Israël? En ces jours-là, au long des années, ils ont prophétisé que je te ferais venir contre eux. | 17 "Thus says the Lord GOD: Are you he of whom I spoke in former days by my servants the prophets of Israel, who in those days prophesied for years that I would bring you against them? |
| 18 Or en ce jour-là, en ce jour où Gog envahira la terre d’Israël, dit Yahvé, la colère me montera au nez. | 18 But on that day, when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, says the Lord GOD, my wrath will be roused. |
| 19 Dans ma jalousie et dans le feu de ma colère, je le dis: Oui, en ce jour-là, ce sera un tremblement de terre en Israël. | 19 For in my jealousy and in my blazing wrath I declare, On that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; |
| 20 Devant moi trembleront les poissons de la mer, les oiseaux du ciel, les bêtes des champs, tous les reptiles qui rampent à la surface du sol et tous les hommes qui sont sur la terre. Les montagnes s’effondreront, les falaises s’écrouleront et tous les remparts tomberont.” | 20 the fish of the sea, and the birds of the air, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep on the ground, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall quake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the cliffs shall fall, and every wall shall tumble to the ground. |
| 21 C’est alors que j’appellerai contre lui l’épouvante, dit Yahvé: ils tourneront leur épée les uns contre les autres. | 21 I will summon every kind of terror against Gog, says the Lord GOD; every man's sword will be against his brother. |
| 22 Je ferai justice de lui par la peste et le sang, je ferai pleuvoir sur lui, sur son armée et sur les nombreux peuples qui l’accompagnent, une pluie torrentielle, des grêlons, du feu et du soufre. | 22 With pestilence and bloodshed I will enter into judgment with him; and I will rain upon him and his hordes and the many peoples that are with him, torrential rains and hailstones, fire and brimstone. |
| 23 Je montrerai ma grandeur et ma sainteté, et je me ferai connaître aux yeux de nombreuses nations: elles sauront que je suis Yahvé. | 23 So I will show my greatness and my holiness and make myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then they will know that I am the LORD. |
