| 1 Yahvé s’adressa à Moïse et lui dit: | 1 The LORD said to Moses, |
| 2 “Je viens d’appeler par son nom Bésaléel, fils d’Ouri, fils de Hour de la tribu de Juda. | 2 "See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: |
| 3 Je l’ai rempli de l’esprit de Dieu; je lui ai donné sagesse, intelligence et savoir-faire en toute spécialité | 3 and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship, |
| 4 pour faire des œuvres d’art, pour travailler l’or, l’argent et le bronze, | 4 to devise artistic designs, to work in gold, silver, and bronze, |
| 5 pour tailler les pierres à sertir et tailler le bois, en un mot, pour tout métier. | 5 in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, for work in every craft. |
| 6 J’ai choisi pour l’aider Oholiab, fils d’Akhisamac, de la tribu de Dan, et j’ai donné le savoir-faire à tous ceux qui en sont capables, de façon qu’ils puissent exécuter tout ce que je t’ai ordonné: | 6 And behold, I have appointed with him Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan; and I have given to all able men ability, that they may make all that I have commanded you: |
| 7 la Tente du Rendez-Vous, l’Arche du Témoignage, l’Instrument de l’Expiation qui la recouvre et tous les objets qui sont dans la Tente; | 7 the tent of meeting, and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy seat that is thereon, and all the furnishings of the tent, |
| 8 la table et ses accessoires, le chandelier pur et ses accessoires ainsi que l’autel de l’encens; | 8 the table and its utensils, and the pure lampstand with all its utensils, and the altar of incense, |
| 9 l’autel pour l’holocauste et tous ses accessoires, la cuve et son support; | 9 and the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils, and the laver and its base, |
| 10 les habits de cérémonie et les habits sacrés du prêtre Aaron, ainsi que les habits de ses fils pour accomplir leur ministère; | 10 and the finely worked garments, the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments of his sons, for their service as priests, |
| 11 l’huile pour l’onction et l’encens parfumé pour le Saint. Ils feront tout cela de la façon que je t’ai commandé.” | 11 and the anointing oil and the fragrant incense for the holy place. According to all that I have commanded you they shall do." |
| 12 Yahvé s’adressa à Moïse et lui dit: | 12 And the LORD said to Moses, |
| 13 “Voici ce que tu diras aux fils d’Israël: Ne manquez pas de garder mes Sabbats. Ils sont un signe entre moi et vous, de génération en génération, pour que vous sachiez que c’est moi, Yahvé, qui vous sanctifie. | 13 "Say to the people of Israel, 'You shall keep my sabbaths, for this is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I, the LORD, sanctify you. |
| 14 Vous observerez donc le Sabbat, ce sera un jour saint pour vous. Celui qui le profanera sera mis à mort; celui qui travaillera ce jour-là sera retranché du milieu de son peuple. | 14 You shall keep the sabbath, because it is holy for you; every one who profanes it shall be put to death; whoever does any work on it, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. |
| 15 Pendant six jours on travaillera, mais le septième jour sera un jour de repos complet, consacré à Yahvé. Celui qui travaillera le jour du Sabbat devra mourir. | 15 Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the LORD; whoever does any work on the sabbath day shall be put to death. |
| 16 Les Israélites observeront donc le Sabbat, ils pratiqueront le Sabbat de génération en génération: c’est là une alliance perpétuelle. | 16 Therefore the people of Israel shall keep the sabbath, observing the sabbath throughout their generations, as a perpetual covenant. |
| 17 Ce sera un signe à jamais entre moi et les Israélites, car en six jours Yahvé a fait le ciel et la terre, mais le septième jour il s’est arrêté pour souffler.” | 17 It is a sign for ever between me and the people of Israel that in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.'" |
| 18 Après cela, lorsque Dieu eut fini de parler à Moïse sur le mont Sinaï, il lui donna les deux tables du Témoignage, tables de pierre écrites de la main de Dieu. | 18 And he gave to Moses, when he had made an end of speaking with him upon Mount Sinai, the two tables of the testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God. |
