Isaia 14

BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Egli è presso che verrà lo suo tempo, e li suoi dì non si allungheranno. E Iddio averà misericordia di Iacob, e anche ne eleggerà di quelli di Israel, e faragli riposare sopra la sua terra; e lo forestiere sarà giunto a loro, e accosterassi alla casa [di] Iacob.	1 Yahweh wil have pity on Jacob, he wil choose Israel once more and resettle them on their native soil.Foreigners will join them, attaching themselves to the House of Jacob.
2 E li populi gli terranno, e menerannoli al suo luogo; e la casa d' Israel li possederà sopra la terra di Dio per servi e per ischiave; e piglieranno quelli che avevano preso loro, e sottometteranno li loro procuratori.	2 Peoples wil take them and escort them home, and the House of Israel wil take them as slaves, menand women on Yahweh's soil. They wil enslave those who enslaved them and wil master their oppressors.
3 E sarà in quello dì, che Iddio t'averà dato riposo per la tua fatica, e dalla tua confusione e dalla tua servitudine dura, per la quale tu servisti inanzi,	3 When that day comes, and Yahweh gives you rest from your suffering and torment and the grimservitude to which you have been subjected,
4 piglierai questa parola contro lo re di Babilonia, e dirai: o come sì cessò lo riscuotitore, e lo tributo è rimaso?	4 you wil recite this satire on the king of Babylon and say: 'How did the tyrant end? How did hisarrogance end?
5 Lo Signore hae spezzato lo bastone de' malvagi, e la verga de' signoreggianti,	5 Yahweh has broken the staff of the wicked, the sceptre of rulers,
6 che tagliavano li populi con indignazione e con piaga insanabile, sottomettendosi nel furore le genti, perseguitando crudelmente.	6 furiously lashing peoples with continual blows, angrily hammering nations, pursuing without respite.
7 Riposossi e stette cheta la terra, rallegrossi e fece festa.	7 The whole world is at rest and calm, shouts of joy resounding,
8 E li abeti si sono rellegrati sopra di te, e li cedri del Libano; poichè tu dormisti, non salirà alcuno che noi tagli.	8 the cypresses, the cedars of Lebanon, rejoice aloud at your fate, "Now that you have been laid low, noone comes up to fell us."
9 L'inferno di sotto è conturbato contro al tuo avvenimento, e risusciterà a te li giganti. Tutti i principi della terra si leveranno delle loro sedie, e tutti li principi delle nazioni.	9 'On your account, Sheol below is astir to greet your arrival. He has roused the ghosts to greet you, althe rulers of the world. He has made al the kings of the nations get up from their thrones.
10 Tutti risponderanno, e diranno a te: tu sei ferito come noi, e sei fatto a noi simile.	10 They will all greet you with the words, "So, you too are now as weak as we are! You, too, havebecome like us.
11 La tua superbia è tirata allo inferno, e lo tuo corpo morto è caduto; la tignuola sì si addosserà sotto a te, e lo tuo coprimento saranno li vermini.	11 Your pride has been flung down to Sheol with the music of your lyres; under you a mattress ofmaggots, over you a blanket of worms.
12 O tu, Lucifero, come cadesti di cielo, che ti levavi così bello la mattina? tu cadesti in terra, che ferivi la gente?	12 How did you come to fal from the heavens, Daystar, son of Dawn? How did you come to be thrown tothe ground, conqueror of nations?
13 Che dicevi nel tuo cuore: io salirò sopra le stelle del cielo, ed esalterò (cioè farò alta) la mia sedia; io sederò nel monte del testamento, nelli lati d' aquilone.	13 You who used to think to yourself: I shal scale the heavens; higher than the stars of God I shall setmy throne. I shal sit on the Mount of Assembly far away to the north.
14 Io sarò sopra l'altitudine delli nuvoli, e sarò simile allo Altissimo.	14 I shal climb high above the clouds, I shal rival the Most High."
15 Nientedimeno tu sarai tirato nello inferno, e nel profondo del lago.	15 Now you have been flung down to Sheol, into the depths of the abyss!
16 E quelli che ti averanno veduto, inchineransi e ragguarderanno te: or non è egli costui quello che conturbò la terra, lo quale pose i regni in grande spavento?	16 'When they see you, they will scrutinise you and consider what you have become, "Is this the manwho made the world tremble, who overthrew kingdoms?
17 lo quale pose lo mondo deserto, e guastò le sue città, e non volse liberare quelli ch' egli avea in prigione?	17 He made the world a desert, he level ed cities and never freed his prisoners to go home."
18 Tutti i re delle genti dormirono in gloria, e tutti nella casa loro.	18 Al other kings of nations, al of them, lie honourably, each in his own tomb;
19 Ma tu se' gittato dello tuo sepolcro, quasi come schiatta senza utilitade, sì come corpo ch' è involto nella feccia con quelli che sono morti di coltello, e discesono a fondamento del lago (dello inferno).	19 but you have been thrown away, unburied, like a loathsome branch, covered with heaps of the slainpierced by the sword who fal on the rocks of the abyss like trampled carrion.
20 Tu non averai compagnia, (sì come corpo puzzolente che tu sei), e non starai con loro nelli sepolcri; tu hai dispersa la tua terra, tu hai (morto e) ucciso il tuo popolo: or non sarai tu chiamato in sempiterno, sì come seme pessimo.	20 'You wil not rejoin them in the grave, for you have brought your country to ruin and destroyed yourpeople. The offspring of the wicked leave no name behind them.
21 Apparecchia li suoi figliuoli a morire per la iniquità delli loro padri; non si leveranno, e non erediteranno la terra, e non empieranno la faccia del mondo..	21 Make ready to slaughter his sons for the guilt of their father! Never again must they rise to conquer theworld and cover the face of the earth with their cities.
22 E io mi leverò sopra loro (di cielo), dice lo Signore delli eserciti; e ucciderò lo nome di Babilonia, e lo rimanente e la schiatta e lo germoglio, dice Iddio.	22 'I wil rise against them, declares Yahweh Sabaoth, and deprive Babylon of name, remnant, offspringand posterity, declares Yahweh.
23 E darollo in possessione allo riccio nelle padule dell' acque, e spazzerollo con la scopa che triterà, dice lo Signore delli eserciti.	23 I shal turn it into the haunt of hedgehogs, a swamp. I shal sweep it with the broom of destruction,declares Yahweh Sabaoth.'
24 E lo Signore delli eserciti giurò, e disse: se non sarà come io pensai, e come io trattai colla mente,	24 Yahweh Sabaoth has sworn it, 'Yes, what I have planned wil take place, what I have decided will beso:
25 così verrà, acciò ch' io spezzi quelli di Siria nella mia terra, e conculchili nelli miei monti; e lo suo giogo sarà levato da loro, e sarà tolto lo carico dallo loro umero.	25 'I shal break Assyria in my country, I shal trample on him on my mountains. Then his yoke wil slip offthem, his burden wil slip from their shoulders.'
26 Questo è lo consiglio ch' io pensai sopra ogni terra, e questa è la mano distesa sopra ogni gente.	26 This is the decision taken in defiance of the whole world; this, the hand outstretched in defiance of alnations.
27 Lo Signore delli eserciti ha (così giudicato e) così ordinato; e chi sarà, ch' ello faccia questo non fermo? E la sua mano è distesa; e chi la torrà via?	27 Once Yahweh Sabaoth has decided, who wil stop him? Once he stretches out his hand, who canwithdraw it?
28 Nell'anno che morì lo re Acaz; fu fatto questo cruciato.	28 In the year Ahaz died came this proclamation:
29 O tu, gente Filistea, non ti rallegrare, però che la verga del tuo percussore sia mancata; però che della radice della biscia uscirà lo re (delli serpenti), e lo suo seme inghiottirà li uccelli.	29 Al Philistia, do not rejoice because the rod which used to beat you is now broken, for the serpentstock wil produce a viper, its offspring wil be a flying dragon.
30 E li primi geniti de' poveri si pasceranno, e li poveri si poseranno fidatamente; e la tua radice farò morire di fame, e ucciderò chi rimarrà di te.	30 While the first-born of the poor are grazing and the destitute are resting in safety, I shall make yourstock die of hunger and then slaughter what remains of you.
31 O porta, urla; e tu`, città, grida; tutta la gente Filistea è stramazzata; e lo fumo verrà d'aquilone, e non è chi fugga lo suo adiutorio.	31 Howl, gate! Shriek, city! Totter, all Philistia! For a smoke is coming from the north, and there are nodeserters in those battalions.
32 E che si risponderà a' messaggeri delle genti? però che lo Signore Iddio fondoe Sion, e in quello spereranno li poveri del suo popolo.	32 What reply wil be given then to the messengers of that nation? - That Yahweh founded Zion andthere the poor of his people will find refuge.
