1 Canto delle ascensioni. Al Signore gridai nell'angustia ed egli mi rispose:	1 A song of ascents. The LORD answered me when I called in my distress:
2 "Signore, libera l'anima mia da labbra di menzogna, da lingua ingannatrice".	2 LORD, deliver me from lying lips, from treacherous tongues.
3 Che cosa ti dovrà dare, o che cosa aggiungere, lingua menzognera?	3 What will the Lord inflict on you, O treacherous tongue, and what more besides?
4 Frecce acute di un prode con carboni di ginepro!	4 A warrior's sharpened arrows and fiery coals of brush wood!
5 Me infelice! Poiché ero straniero in Mosoch, dimoravo fra le tende di Kedar.	5 Alas, I was an alien in Meshech, I lived near the tents of Kedar!
6 Troppo a lungo se n'è stata l'anima mia con gente nemica della pace!	6 Too long did I live among those who hated peace.
7 Mentre io parlavo di pace, essi invece erano per la guerra.	7 When I spoke of peace, they were for war.
