1 E Tobi disse:	1 And so, the elder Tobit, opening his mouth, blessed the Lord, and he said: “O Lord, you are great in eternity and your kingdom is with all ages.
2 "Benedetto sia Dio che vive in eterno, il suo regno dura per tutti i secoli. Egli castiga e usa misericordia, fa scendere fino all'abisso più profondo della terra e fa risalire dalla grande perdizione, non c'è nulla che sfugga alla sua mano.	2 For you scourge, and you save. You lead down to the grave, and you bring up again. And there is no one who can escape from your hand.
3 Celebratelo, Israeliti, davanti alle nazioni, perché egli vi ha dispersi in mezzo ad esse,	3 Confess to the Lord, O sons of Israel, and praise him in the sight of the nations.
4 e qui vi ha fatto vedere la sua grandezza. Esaltatelo davanti ad ogni vivente, perché egli è il nostro Signore, il nostro Dio, egli è il nostro Padre, il Dio per tutti i secoli.	4 For, indeed, he has dispersed you among the Gentiles, who are ignorant of him, that you may proclaim his wonders, and that you may cause them to know that there is no other almighty God, except him.
5 Vi castiga a causa delle vostre iniquità, ma avrà pietà di tutti voi in mezzo a tutte le nazioni, fra le quali siete stati dispersi.	5 He has chastised us because of our iniquities, and he will save us because of his mercy.
6 Quando vi sarete convertiti a lui, con tutto il vostro cuore e con tutta l'anima per essere sinceri con lui, allora egli si volgerà verso di voi e non vi nasconderà più il volto.	6 Therefore, look upon what he has done for us, and, with fear and trembling, confess to him. And extol the King of all ages with your works.
7 Ora considerate ciò che ha operato per voi e celebratelo a piena voce. Benedite il Signore della giustizia ed esaltate il Re dei secoli.	7 But as for me, I will confess him in the land of my captivity. For he has revealed his majesty within a sinful nation.
8 Io lo celebro nel mio paese di esilio e annuncio la sua potenza e grandezza a un popolo di peccatori. Convertitevi, o peccatori, e operate rettamente in sua presenza. Chissà che non torni ad amarvi e a farvi misericordia.	8 And so, be converted, you sinners, and do justice in the presence of God, believing that he will act in his mercy toward you.
9 Esalto il mio Dio e celebro il Re del cielo ed esulto per la sua grandezza.	9 But I and my soul will rejoice in him.
10 Che tutti lo lodino e gli rendano grazie in Gerusalemme. Gerusalemme, città santa, Dio ti castigò a causa delle opere dei tuoi figli, ma avrà di nuovo pietà dei figli dei giusti.	10 Bless the Lord, all you his elect. Keep days of rejoicing, and confess to him.
11 Da' lode al Signore degnamente e benedici il Re dei secoli; il tuo tempio ti sia ricostruito con gioia,	11 O Jerusalem, the city of God, the Lord has chastised you for the works of your hands.
12 così che si allietino in te tutti i deportati, e siano amati in te tutti gli sventurati per tutte le generazioni dei secoli.	12 Confess to the Lord with your good things, and bless the God of all ages, so that he may rebuild his tabernacle in you, and he may recall all the captives to you, and you may be glad in all ages and forever.
13 Una luce risplendente brillerà in tutte le regioni della terra. Nazioni numerose verranno a te da lontano, e gli abitanti di tutti i confini della terra verranno verso la dimora del tuo santo nome, portando in mano i doni per il Re del cielo. Generazioni senza fine esprimeranno in te l'esultanza e il nome della città eletta durerà per sempre.	13 You will shine with a splendid light, and all the ends of the earth will adore by you.
14 Maledetti coloro che ti insultano, maledetti saranno quanti ti distruggono, demoliscono le tue mura, rovinano le tue torri e incendiano le tue abitazioni. Ma benedetti per sempre coloro che ti temono.	14 Nations from far away will come to you, bringing gifts. And in you, they shall adore the Lord, and they will hold your land in sanctification.
15 Sorgi, allora, ed esulta a causa dei figli dei giusti, perché tutti si raduneranno e benediranno il Signore dei secoli. Beati coloro che ti amano! Beati coloro che gioiscono per la tua prosperità!	15 For they will invoke the Great Name in you.
16 Beati tutti quelli che avranno fatto lutto per te a causa di tutte le tue prove, perché gioiranno per te, vedendo tutta la tua gioia per sempre. Anima mia, benedici il Signore, il gran Re,	16 Those who despise you will be cursed, and all those who blaspheme by you will be condemned, and those who build you up will be blessed.
17 perché Gerusalemme sarà ricostruita e nella città il suo tempio durerà per sempre. Beato sarò io, se rimane qualcuno della mia discendenza per vedere la tua gloria e celebrare il Re del cielo. Le porte di Gerusalemme saranno ricostruite con zaffiro e smeraldo, e tutte le sue mura con pietre preziose. Le torri di Gerusalemme saranno costruite con oro e i suoi baluardi con oro finissimo. Le piazze di Gerusalemme saranno lastricate con turchese e pietre di Ofir.	17 But you will rejoice in your sons, because they will all be blessed, and they will be gathered together for the Lord.
18 Le porte di Gerusalemme risuoneranno di canti di giubilo e tutte le sue case acclameranno: "Alleluia, benedetto il Dio d'Israele". Coloro che sono da lui benedetti benediranno il suo santo nome nei secoli, per sempre".	18 Blessed are all those who love you and who rejoice in your peace.
	19 Bless the Lord, O my soul, for the Lord our God has freed Jerusalem, his city, from every one of her tribulations.
	20 Happy will I be, if any of my offspring will be left to see the brightness of Jerusalem.
	21 The gates of Jerusalem will be built from sapphire and emerald, and all its walls will be surrounded with precious stones.
	22 All its streets will be paved with stones, white and clean. And ‘Alleluia’ will be sung throughout its neighborhoods.
	23 Blessed be the Lord, who has exalted it, and may he reign over it, forever and ever. Amen.”
