And in the right hand of the One sitting upon the throne, I saw a book, written inside and out, sealed with seven seals.1 Et je vis dans la main droite de Celui qui siège sur le trône un livre roulé, écrit au recto et auverso, et scellé de sept sceaux.
And I saw a strong Angel, proclaiming with a great voice, “Who is worthy to open the book and to break its seals?”2 Et je vis un Ange puissant proclamant à pleine voix: "Qui est digne d'ouvrir le livre et d'enbriser les sceaux?"
And no one was able, neither in heaven, nor on earth, nor under the earth, to open the book, nor to gaze upon it.3 Mais nul n'était capable, ni dans le ciel, ni sur la terre, ni sous la terre, d'ouvrir le livre et de lelire.
And I wept greatly because no one was found worthy to open the book, nor to see it.4 Et je pleurais fort de ce que nul ne s'était trouvé digne d'ouvrir le livre et de le lire.
And one of the elders said to me: “Weep not. Behold, the lion from the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has prevailed to open the book and to break its seven seals.”5 L'un des Vieillards me dit alors: "Ne pleure pas. Voici: il a remporté la victoire, le Lion de latribu de Juda, le Rejeton de David; il ouvrira donc le livre aux sept sceaux."
And I saw, and behold, in the midst of the throne and the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, a Lamb was standing, as if it were slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God, sent forth to all the earth.6 Alors je vis, debout entre le trône aux quatre Vivants et les Vieillards, un Agneau, commeégorgé, portant sept cornes et sept yeux, qui sont les sept Esprits de Dieu en mission par toute la terre.
And he approached and received the book from the right hand of the One sitting upon the throne.7 Il s'en vint prendre le livre dans la main droite de Celui qui siège sur le trône.
And when he had opened the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having stringed instruments, as well as golden bowls full of fragrances, which are the prayers of the saints.8 Quand il l'eut pris, les quatre Vivants et les 24 Vieillards se prosternèrent devant l'Agneau,tenant chacun une harpe et des coupes d'or pleines de parfums, les prières des saints;
And they were singing a new canticle, saying: “O Lord, you are worthy to receive the book and to open its seals, because you were slain and have redeemed us for God, by your blood, from every tribe and language and people and nation.9 ils chantaient un cantique nouveau: "Tu es digne de prendre le livre et d'en ouvrir les sceaux, cartu fus égorgé et tu rachetas pour Dieu, au prix de ton sang, des hommes de toute race, langue, peuple et nation;
And you have made us into a kingdom and into priests for our God, and we shall reign over the earth.”10 tu as fait d'eux pour notre Dieu une Royauté de Prêtres régnant sur la terre."
And I saw, and I heard the voice of many Angels surrounding the throne and the living creatures and the elders, (and their number was thousands of thousands)11 Et ma vision se poursuivit. J'entendis la voix d'une multitude d'Anges rassemblés autour dutrône, des Vivants et des Vieillards - ils se comptaient par myriades de myriades et par milliers de milliers! --
saying with a great voice: “The Lamb who was slain is worthy to receive power, and divinity, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing.”12 et criant à pleine voix: "Digne est l'Agneau égorgé de recevoir la puissance, la richesse, lasagesse, la force, l'honneur, la gloire et la louange."
And every creature that is in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and all that is within the sea: I heard them all saying: “To the One sitting upon the throne and to the Lamb be blessing, and honor, and glory, and authority, forever and ever.”13 Et toute créature, dans le ciel, et sur la terre, et sous la terre, et sur la mer, l'univers entier, jel'entendis s'écrier: "A Celui qui siège sur le trône, ainsi qu'à l'Agneau, la louange, l'honneur, la gloire et lapuissance dans les siècles des siècles!"
And the four living creatures were saying, “Amen.” And the twenty-four elders fell down on their faces, and they adored the One who lives forever and ever.14 Et les quatre Vivants disaient: "Amen!;" et les Vieillards se prosternèrent pour adorer.
