1 But you are to speak the things that befit sound doctrine.	1 Ma tu insegna conformemente alla sana dottrina:
2 Old men should be sober, chaste, prudent, sound in faith, in love, in patience.	2 Che i vecchi siano sobrj, pudichi, prudenti, sani nella fede, nella carità, nella pazienza:
3 Old women, similarly, should be in holy attire, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teaching well,	3 Similmente le donne di età in un contegno santo, non portate a dir male, non dedite al molto vino, maestre del ben fare:
4 so that they may teach prudence to the young women, so that they may love their husbands, love their children,	4 Affinchè alle più giovani insegnino ad esser morigerate, ad amare i loro mariti, a tener conto de' lor figliuoli,
5 be sensible, chaste, restrained, have concern for the household, be kind, be subordinate to their husbands: so that the Word of God may be not blasphemed.	5 Ad esser prudenti, caste, sobrie, attente alla cura della casa, buone, soggette a' loro mariti, affinchè non si dica male della parola di Dio:
6 Exhort young men similarly, so that they may show self-restraint.	6 I giovani parimente esortali alla temperanza.
7 In all things, present yourself as an example of good works: in doctrine, with integrity, with seriousness,	7 In tutte le cose fa' vedere te stesso modello del ben fare, nella dottrina, nella purità de' costumi, nella gravità,
8 with sound words, irreproachably, so that he who is an opponent may dread that he has nothing evil to say about us.	8 Il discorrere sano, irreprensibile talmente che chi ci sta di contro, abbia rossore, non avendo nulla, onde dir male di noi:
9 Exhort servants to be submissive to their masters, in all things pleasing, not contradicting,	9 Che i servi siano soggetti ai loro padroni, in lutto facciano a modo (di essi) non istiano a tu per tu,
10 not cheating, but in all things showing good fidelity, so that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.	10 Non rubino, ma in ogni cosa dimostrino perfetta fedeltà: talmente che in tutto facciano onore alla dottrina del salvatore nostro Dio.
11 For the grace of God our Savior has appeared to all men,	11 Imperocché apparve la grazia di Dio salvatore nostro a tatti gli uomini,
12 instructing us to reject impiety and worldly desires, so that we may live soberly and justly and piously in this age,	12 Insegnando a noi, che rinnegata l'empietà, e i desideri del secolo, con temperanza, con giustizia, e con pietà viviamo in questo secolo,
13 looking forward to the blessed hope and the advent of the glory of the great God and of our Savior Jesus Christ.	13 In espettazione di quella beata speranza, e di quella apparizione della gloria del grande Dio, e salvatore nostro Gesù Cristo:
14 He gave himself for our sake, so that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and might cleanse for himself an acceptable people, pursuers of good works.	14 Il quale diede se stesso per noi, affine di riscattarci da ogni iniquità, e per purificarsi un popolo accettevole, zelatore delle buone opere.
15 Speak and exhort and argue these things with all authority. Let no one despise you.	15 Cosi ragiona, ed esorta, e riprendi con ogni autorità. Nissuno faccia poco conto di te.
