CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAINLXX
A Psalm of David, before he was sealed. The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the protector of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?1 του δαυιδ προ του χρισθηναι κυριος φωτισμος μου και σωτηρ μου τινα φοβηθησομαι κυριος υπερασπιστης της ζωης μου απο τινος δειλιασω
Meanwhile, the guilty draw near to me, so as to eat my flesh. Those who trouble me, my enemies, have themselves been weakened and have fallen.2 εν τω εγγιζειν επ' εμε κακουντας του φαγειν τας σαρκας μου οι θλιβοντες με και οι εχθροι μου αυτοι ησθενησαν και επεσαν
If entrenched armies were to stand together against me, my heart would not fear. If a battle were to rise up against me, I would have hope in this.3 εαν παραταξηται επ' εμε παρεμβολη ου φοβηθησεται η καρδια μου εαν επαναστη επ' εμε πολεμος εν ταυτη εγω ελπιζω
One thing I have asked of the Lord, this I will seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, so that I may behold the delight of the Lord, and may visit his temple.4 μιαν ητησαμην παρα κυριου ταυτην εκζητησω του κατοικειν με εν οικω κυριου πασας τας ημερας της ζωης μου του θεωρειν με την τερπνοτητα του κυριου και επισκεπτεσθαι τον ναον αυτου
For he has hidden me in his tabernacle. In the day of evils, he has protected me in the hidden place of his tabernacle.5 οτι εκρυψεν με εν σκηνη εν ημερα κακων μου εσκεπασεν με εν αποκρυφω της σκηνης αυτου εν πετρα υψωσεν με
He has exalted me upon the rock, and now he has exalted my head above my enemies. I have circled around and offered a sacrifice of loud exclamation in his tabernacle. I will sing, and I will compose a psalm, to the Lord.6 και νυν ιδου υψωσεν την κεφαλην μου επ' εχθρους μου εκυκλωσα και εθυσα εν τη σκηνη αυτου θυσιαν αλαλαγμου ασομαι και ψαλω τω κυριω
Hear my voice, O Lord, with which I have cried out to you. Have mercy on me, and hear me.7 εισακουσον κυριε της φωνης μου ης εκεκραξα ελεησον με και εισακουσον μου
My heart has spoken to you; my face has sought you. I yearn for your face, O Lord.8 σοι ειπεν η καρδια μου εζητησεν το προσωπον μου το προσωπον σου κυριε ζητησω
Do not turn your face away from me. In your wrath, do not turn aside from your servant. Be my helper. Do not abandon me, and do not despise me, O God, my Saviour.9 μη αποστρεψης το προσωπον σου απ' εμου μη εκκλινης εν οργη απο του δουλου σου βοηθος μου γενου μη αποσκορακισης με και μη εγκαταλιπης με ο θεος ο σωτηρ μου
For my father and my mother have left me behind, but the Lord has taken me up.10 οτι ο πατηρ μου και η μητηρ μου εγκατελιπον με ο δε κυριος προσελαβετο με
O Lord, establish a law for me in your way, and direct me in the right path, because of my enemies.11 νομοθετησον με κυριε τη οδω σου και οδηγησον με εν τριβω ευθεια ενεκα των εχθρων μου
Do not surrender me to the souls of those who trouble me. For unjust witnesses have risen up against me, and iniquity has lied to itself.12 μη παραδως με εις ψυχας θλιβοντων με οτι επανεστησαν μοι μαρτυρες αδικοι και εψευσατο η αδικια εαυτη
I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living.13 πιστευω του ιδειν τα αγαθα κυριου εν γη ζωντων
Wait for the Lord, act manfully; and let your heart be strengthened, and remain with the Lord.14 υπομεινον τον κυριον ανδριζου και κραταιουσθω η καρδια σου και υπομεινον τον κυριον
