Job 32

1 But these three men ceased to answer Job, because he considered himself justified.	1 - Ma quei tre uomini cessarono di rispondere a Giobbe, perchè si riteneva per giusto.
2 And Eliu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram, was angry and indignant. But he was angry against Job because he described himself to be just in the presence of God.	2 Senonchè Eliu figlio di Barachel, il Buzita, della famiglia di Ram, s'adirò e si sdegnò; contro Giobbe s'adirò egli, perchè affermava d'essere giusto dinanzi a Dio;
3 Moreover, he was indignant with his friends because they had not found a reasonable response, except in so far as they condemned Job.	3 si sdegnò inoltre contro gli amici di lui, perchè non avevano trovato una risposta ragionevole, ma soltanto avevano dato torto a Giobbe.
4 Therefore, Eliu waited while Job was talking, for these were his elders that were speaking.	4 Perciò Eliu aveva aspettato che Giobbe avesse parlato, giacchè coloro che discorrevano erano più anziani;
5 But when he saw that these three were not able to respond, he was extremely angry.	5 ma quando vide che i tre non potevano rispondere, s'adirò grandemente.
6 And so Eliu the son of Barachel the Buzite responded by saying: I am younger in years, and you are more ancient; therefore, I kept my head low, for I was afraid to reveal to you my opinion.	6 Prendendo dunque a parlare Eliu figlio di Barachel, il Buzita, disse: «Più giovane sono io per età, mentre voi siete più vecchi: perciò a capo dimesso avevo timoredi manifestarvi il mio parere.
7 For I had hoped that greater age would speak, and that a multitude of years would teach wisdom.	7 Poichè speravo che l'età più matura avrebbe parlato, e che i molti anni avrebbero insegnato la sapienza;
8 But I see now that there is only breath in men, and that it is the inspiration of the Almighty that gives understanding.	8 ma - a quanto vedo - il soffio [di vita] è negli uomini, ma l'ispirazione dell'Onnipotente dà l'intelligenza;
9 The wise are not the aged, nor do the elders understand judgment.	9 non i longevi [perchè tali] sono sapienti, nè gli anziani intendono il diritto.
10 Therefore, I will speak. Listen to me, and so I will show you my wisdom.	10 Perciò io dico: - Ascoltatemi, vi mostrerò anch'io la mia sapienza! -
11 For I have endured your words; I have paid attention to your deliberations, while you were being argumentative with words.	11 Ho infatti aspettato i vostri discorsi, e udito le vostre indagini, mentre discutevate nella disputa;
12 And as long as I supposed that you were saying something, I considered; but now I see that there is none of you that is able to argue with Job and to respond to his words.	12 e mentre stimavo che avreste detto alcunchè, riflettevo: ma - a quanto vedo - non c'è chi confuti Giobbe e risponda ai suoi discorsi fra voialtri.
13 So that you will not say, “We have found wisdom,” God has thrown him down, not man.	13 Non state a dire: - Abbiamo trovato la sapienza -;Dio l'ha rigettato, non un uomo!
14 He has said nothing to me, and I will not respond to him according to your words.	14 Con me egli ancora non ha parlato mai, nè io gli risponderò con i vostri discorsi.
15 Then they were filled with dread, and so they no longer responded, and they withdrew from their speechmaking.	15 Costoro sono sgomenti, più non rispondono, si dipartirono da loro le parole.
16 Therefore, because I have waited and they have not been speaking, for they stood firm and did not respond at all,	16 Perchè dunque ho aspettato, ed essi non parlano, se ne ristanno senza più rispondere,
17 I also will answer in my turn, and I will reveal my knowledge.	17 risponderò anch'io la mia parte, e mostrerò il mio sapere.
18 For I am full of words, and the feeling in my gut inspires me.	18 Io infatti di parole sono ripieno, e mi travaglia l'ansimar del mio seno:
19 Yes, my stomach is like fermenting wine without a vent, which bursts the new containers.	19 ecco, il mio seno è come mosto che non ha sfogoe spezza gli otri novelli;
20 I should speak, but I will also breathe a little; I will open my lips, and I will answer.	20 parlando mi sentirò sollevato, aprirò le mie labbra e risponderò;
21 I will not esteem the reputation of a man, and I will not equate God with man.	21 non porterò riguardo ad alcuno, e non eguaglierò Dio all'uomo:
22 For I do not know how long I will continue, and whether, after a while, my Maker might take me away.	22 non so infatti quanto ancora io esisterò, e se di qui a poco il mio Fattore mi toglierà di mezzo.
