1 The sons of Levi: Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.	1 The sons of Levi were Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
2 The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.	2 The sons of Gershon were named Libni and Shimei.
3 The sons of Amram: Aaron, Moses, and Miriam. The sons of Aaron: Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.	3 The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.
4 Eleazar conceived Phinehas, and Phinehas conceived Abishua.	4 The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi.The following were the clans of Levi, distributed according to their ancestors:
5 Truly, Abishua conceived Bukki, and Bukki conceived Uzzi.	5 of Gershon: his son Libni, whose son was Jahath, whose son was Zimmah,
6 Uzzi conceived Zerahiah, and Zerahiah conceived Meraioth.	6 whose son was Joah, whose son was Iddo, whose son was Zerah, whose son was Jetherai.
7 Then Meraioth conceived Amariah, and Amariah conceived Ahitub.	7 The descendants of Kohath were: his son Amminadab, whose son was Korah, whose son was Assir,
8 Ahitub conceived Zadok, and Zadok conceived Ahimaaz.	8 whose son was Elkanah, whose son was Ebiasaph, whose son was Assir,
9 Ahimaaz conceived Azariah; Azariah conceived Johanan.	9 whose son was Tahath, whose son was Uriel, whose son was Uzziah, whose son was Shaul.
10 Johanan conceived Azariah. He is the one who executed the priestly office in the house that Solomon built in Jerusalem.	10 The sons of Elkanah were Amasai and Ahimoth,
11 Now Azariah conceived Amariah, and Amariah conceived Ahitub.	11 whose son was Elkanah, whose son was Zophai, whose son was Nahath,
12 Ahitub conceived Zadok, and Zadok conceived Shallum.	12 whose son was Eliab, whose son was Jeroham, whose son was Elkanah, whose son was Samuel.
13 Shallum conceived Hilkiah, and Hilkiah conceived Azariah.	13 The sons of Samuel were Joel, the first-born, and Abijah, the second.
14 Azariah conceived Seraiah, and Seraiah conceived Jehozadak.	14 The descendants of Merari were Mahli, whose son was Libni, whose son was Shimei, whose son was Uzzah,
15 Now Jehozadak departed, when the Lord took away Judah and Jerusalem, by the hands of Nebuchadnezzar.	15 whose son was Shimea, whose son was Haggiah, whose son was Asaiah.
16 So the sons of Levi were Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.	16 The following were entrusted by David with the choir services in the LORD'S house from the time when the ark had obtained a permanent resting place.
17 And these are the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni and Shimei.	17 They served as singers before the Dwelling of the meeting tent until Solomon built the temple of the LORD in Jerusalem, and they performed their services in an order prescribed for them.
18 The sons of Kohath: Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.	18 Those who so performed are the following, together with their descendants. Among the Kohathites: Heman, the chanter, son of Joel, son of Samuel,
19 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. And so these are the kindred of Levi, according to their families.	19 son of Elkanah, son of Jeroham, son of Eliel, son of Toah,
20 Of Gershom: Libni his son, Jahath his son, Zimmah his son,	20 son of Zuth, son of Elkanah, son of Mahath, son of Amasi,

22 The sons of Kohath: Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,	22 son of Tahath, son of Assir, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah,
23 Elkanah his son, Ebiasaph his son, Assir his son,	23 son of Izhar, son of Kohath, son of Levi, son of Israel.
24 Tahath his son, Uriel his son, Uzziah his son, Shaul his son.	24 His brother Asaph stood at his right hand. Asaph was the son of Berechiah, son of Shimea,
25 The sons of Elkanah: Amasai and Ahimoth	25 son of Michael, son of Baaseiah, son of Malchijah,
26 and Elkanah. The sons of Elkanah: Zophai his son, Nahath his son,	26 son of Ethni, son of Zerah, son of Adaiah,

29 Now the sons of Merari were: Mahli, Libni his son, Shimei his son, Uzzah his son,	29 Their brothers, the Merarites, stood at the left: Ethan, son of Kishi, son of Abdi, son of Malluch,
30 Shimea his son, Haggiah his son, Asaiah his son.	30 son of Hashabiah, son of Amaziah, son of Hilkiah,
31 These are the ones whom David appointed over the singing men in the house of the Lord, in the place where the ark was located.	31 son of Amzi, son of Bani, son of Shemer,
32 And they ministered before the tabernacle of the testimony with singing, until Solomon built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem. And they would stand according to their order in the ministry.	32 son of Mahli, son of Mushi, son of Merari, son of Levi.
33 Truly, these are the ones who were assisting, with their sons, from the sons of Kohath: the singer Heman, the son of Joel, the son of Samuel,	33 Their brother Levites were appointed to all the other services of the Dwelling of the house of God.

39 And there was also his brother, Asaph, who was standing at his right, Asaph, the son of Berechiah, the son of Shimea,	39 The following were their dwelling places to which their encampment was limited. To the descendants of Aaron who belonged to clan of the Kohathites, since the first lot fell to them,
40 the son of Michael, the son of Baaseiah, the son of Malchijah,	40 was assigned Hebron with its adjacent pasture lands in the land of Judah,
41 the son of Ethni, the son of Zerah, the son of Adaiah,	41 although the open country and the villages belonging to the city had been given to Caleb, the son of Jephunneh.
42 the son of Ethan, the son of Zimmah, the son of Shimei,	42 There were assigned to the descendants of Aaron: Hebron a city of asylum, Libnah with its pasture lands, Jattir with its pasture lands, Eshtemoa with its pasture lands,
43 the son of Jahath, the son of Gershom, the son of Levi.	43 Holon with its pasture lands, Debir with its pasture lands,
44 Now the sons of Merari, their brothers, were on the left: Ethan, the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch,	44 Ashan with its pasture lands, Jetta with its pasture lands, and Beth-shemesh with its pasture lands.
45 the son of Hashabiah, the son of Amaziah, the son of Hilkiah,	45 Also from the tribe of Benjamin: Gibeon with its pasture lands, Geba with its pasture lands, Almon with its pasture lands, Anathoth with its pasture lands. In all, they had thirteen cities with their pasture lands.
46 the son of Amzi, the son of Boni, the son of Shemer,	46 The other Kohathites obtained ten cities by lot for their clans from the tribe of Ephraim, from the tribe of Dan, and from the half-tribe of Manasseh.
47 the son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.	47 The clans of the Gershonites obtained thirteen cities from the tribes of Issachar, Asher, and Naphtali, and from the half-tribe of Manasseh in Bashan.
48 There were also their brothers, Levites who were appointed for every ministry of the tabernacle of the house of the Lord.	48 The clans of the Merarites obtained twelve cities by lot from the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Zebulun.
49 Truly, Aaron and his sons were burning offerings upon the altar of holocausts and upon the altar of incense, for the entire work of the Holy of Holies, and to pray on behalf of Israel, in accord with all the things that Moses, the servant of God, had instructed.	49 The Israelites assigned these cities with their pasture lands to the Levites,
50 Now these are the sons of Aaron: Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son,	50 designating them by name and assigning them by lot from the tribes of the Judahites, Simeonites, and Benjaminites.
51 Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son,	51 The clans of the Kohathites obtained cities by lot from the tribe of Ephraim.
52 Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son,	52 They were assigned: Shechem in the mountain region of Ephraim, a city of asylum, with its pasture lands, Gezer with its pasture lands,
53 Zadok his son, Ahimaaz his son.	53 Kibzaim with its pasture lands, and Beth-horon with its pasture lands.
54 And these are their habitations according to the villages and confines, specifically of the sons of Aaron, according to the kindred of the Kohathites. For it fell to them by lot.	54 From the tribe of Dan: Elteke with its pasture lands, Gibbethon with its pasture lands, Aijalon with its pasture lands, and Gath-rimmon with its pasture lands.
55 And so, they gave Hebron, in the land of Judah, and its suburbs all around, to them,	55 From the half-tribe of Manasseh: Taanach with its pasture lands and Ibleam with its pasture lands. These belonged to the rest of the Kohathite clan.
56 but they gave the fields of the city, and the villages, to Caleb, the son of Jephunneh.	56 The clans of the Gershonites received from the half-tribe of Manasseh: Golan in Bashan with its pasture lands and Ashtaroth with its pasture lands.
57 Then, to the sons of Aaron, they gave the cities of refuge: Hebron, and Libnah with its suburbs,	57 From the tribe of Issachar: Kedesh with its pasture lands, Daberath with its pasture lands,
58 also Jattir and Eshtemoa with their suburbs, then also Hilen and Debir with their suburbs,	58 Ramoth with its pasture lands, and Engannim with its pasture lands.
59 as well as Ashan and Beth-shemesh with their suburbs.	59 From the tribe of Asher: Mashal with its pasture lands, Abdon with its pasture lands,
60 And from the tribe of Benjamin: Geba with its suburbs, and Alemeth with its suburbs, as well as Anathoth with its suburbs. All the cities throughout their kindred were thirteen.	60 Hilkath with its pasture lands, and Rehob with its pasture lands.
61 Now to the sons of Kohath, those remaining from their kindred, they gave ten cities, from the one half tribe of Manasseh, as a possession;	61 From the tribe of Naphtali: Kedesh in Galilee with its pasture lands, Hammon with its pasture lands, and Kiriathaim with its pasture lands.
62 and to the sons of Gershom, according to their families, from the tribe of Issachar, and from the tribe of Asher, and from the tribe of Naphtali, and from the tribe Manasseh in Bashan: thirteen cities.	62 The rest of the Merarites received from the tribe of Zebulun: Jokneam with its pasture lands, Kartah with its pasture lands, Rimmon with its pasture lands, and Tabor with its pasture lands.
63 Then to the sons of Merari, according to their families, from the tribe of Reuben, and from the tribe of Gad, and from the tribe of Zebulun, they gave by lot twelve cities.	63 Across the Jordan at Jericho (that is, east of the Jordan) they received from the tribe of Reuben: Bezer in the desert with its pasture lands, Jahzah with its pasture lands,
64 Also, the sons of Israel gave, to the Levites, cities and their suburbs,	64 Kedemoth with its pasture lands, and Mephaath with its pasture lands.
65 and they gave them by lot, out of the tribe of the sons of Judah, and out of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, these cities, which they called by their names.	65 From the tribe of Gad: Ramoth in Gilead with its pasture lands, Mahanaim with its pasture lands,
66 And for those who were from the kindred of the sons of Kohath, the cities with their borders were from the tribe of Ephraim.	66 Heshbon with its pasture lands, and Jazer with its pasture lands.
67 Then they gave to them the cities of refuge: Shechem with its suburbs on mount Ephraim, and Gezer with its suburbs,
68 as well as Jokmeam with its suburbs, and Beth-horon similarly,
69 and indeed Hilen with its suburbs, and Gath Rimmon in the same manner.
70 Then too, out of the one half tribe of Manasseh: Aner and its suburbs, Bileam and its suburbs; these in particular went to those who were remaining from the kindred of the sons of Kohath.
71 And to the sons of Gershom, from the kindred of the one half tribe of Manasseh: Golan, in Bashan, and its suburbs, and Ashtaroth with its suburbs;
72 from the tribe of Issachar: Kedesh and its suburbs, and Daberath with its suburbs,
73 as well as Ramoth and its suburbs, and Anem with its suburbs;
74 truly, from the tribe of Asher: Mashal with its suburbs, and Abdon similarly;
75 as well as Hukkok and its suburbs, and Rehob with its suburbs;
76 moreover, from the tribe of Naphtali: Kedesh in Galilee and its suburbs, Hammon with its suburbs, and Kiriathaim and its suburbs.
77 Then to the remaining sons of Merari, from the tribe of Zebulun: Rimmono and its suburbs, and Tabor with its suburbs;
78 and also, across the Jordan opposite Jericho, facing the east of the Jordan, from the tribe of Reuben: Bezer in the wilderness with its suburbs, and Jahzah with its suburbs;
79 as well as Kedemoth and its suburbs, and Mephaath with its suburbs;
80 indeed also, from the tribe of Gad: Ramoth in Gilead and its suburbs, and Mahanaim with its suburbs;
81 then too, Heshbon with its suburbs, and Jazer with its suburbs.
