1 These were the stages of the journey made by the Israelites when they left Egypt in their companiesunder the leadership of Moses and Aaron.	1 Queste sono le abitazioni che fecero i figliuoli d'Israel, i quali uscirono di Egitto con tutta la gente nella mano di Moisè e di Aaron.
2 Moses recorded their starting-points in writing whenever they moved on at Yahweh's order. Thestages, from one starting-point to another, were as fol ows:	2 Le quali scrisse Moisè secondo quelli luoghi i quali mutavano per lo comandamento di Dio.
3 They left Rameses in the first month. It was the fifteenth day of the first month, the day following thePassover, when the Israelites confidently set out, under the eyes of al Egypt.	3 E prima si partirono di Ramesse il primo mese, a dì quindeci; l'altro di fecero la pasca i figliuoli d'Israel nella mano di Dio, vedendogli tutto il popolo d'Egitto,
4 The Egyptians were burying those of their own people whom Yahweh had struck down, all the first-born; Yahweh had carried out his judgement on their gods.	4 e sotterrando loro tutti i primigeniti, i quali erano stati percossi da Dio; e chiamavano a'loro idii, che facessero vendetta.
5 The Israelites left Rameses and camped at Succoth.	5 Allora s'accasarono in Soccot.
6 Then they left Succoth and encamped at Etham which is on the edge of the desert.	6 E di Soccot vennero in Etam, la quale si è nella estrema parte della solitudine.
7 They left Etham, turned back to Pi-Hahiroth, opposite Baal-Zephon, and encamped before Migdol.	7 E d’indi vennero diricontra a Fiairot, il quale ragguarda Beelsefon, e accasaronsi dirin contra a Magdalo.
8 They left Pi-Hahiroth, crossed the sea into the desert, and after marching for three days in the desertof Etham they encamped at Marah.	8 E partironsi di Fiairot, e passarono per mezzo del mare nella solitudine; e andarono per tre dì per la solitudine di Etam, e abitarono in Mara.

50 Yahweh spoke to Moses on the Plains of Moab, near the Jordan by Jericho, and said:	50 Dove parlò Iddio a Moisè, e disse:
51 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "When you have crossed the Jordan into Canaan,	51 Comanda a' figliuoli d'Israel, e di'a loro: quando voi passerete il Giordano, entrando nella terra Canaan,
52 you wil drive out al the local inhabitants before you. You wil destroy al their painted images, youwil destroy al their metal statues and you wil demolish al their high places.	52 cacciate tutti gli abitatori di quella terra; e tutti i vitelli e altre statue romperete; e tutte le loro case guastate.
53 You wil take possession of the country and settle in it, for I have given you the country as yourproperty.	53 E nettatela (d'ogni cattività), e abitate in essa; io la vi diedi per possessione.
54 You wil share it out by lot among your clans. To a large clan you wil give a larger heritage, and to asmal er clan you wil give a smal er heritage. Where the lot fal s for each, that wil be his. Your heritage wildepend on the size of your tribe.	54 La qual dividetela fra voi come tocca; al più date la maggiore parte, e al minore la minore; e a tutti date come vengono le sorti; così sarà data la eredità; per le tribù e per le famiglie divi derete la possessione.
55 If, however, you do not drive out the local inhabitants before you, the ones you al ow to remain wilbe thorns in your eyes and thistles in your sides and wil harass you in the country where you are living,	55 Se voi non volete uccidere tutti gli abitatori di quella terra, coloro che rimaneranno saranno uno chiodo ne' vostri occhii, e come lancie ne' vostri cuori.
56 and I shal treat you as I intended to treat them." '	56 E ciò ch' io volea fare a loro, farò a voi.
