1 These were the stages of the journey made by the Israelites when they left Egypt in their companiesunder the leadership of Moses and Aaron.	1 QUESTE son le mosse de’ figliuoli d’Israele, che uscirono fuor del paese di Egitto, distinti per le loro schiere, sotto la condotta di Mosè e d’Aaronne;
2 Moses recorded their starting-points in writing whenever they moved on at Yahweh's order. Thestages, from one starting-point to another, were as fol ows:	2 Or Mosè scrisse le lor partite secondo ch’essi si mossero per lo comandamento del Signore; queste, dico, son le lor mosse, secondo le lor partite:
3 They left Rameses in the first month. It was the fifteenth day of the first month, the day following thePassover, when the Israelites confidently set out, under the eyes of al Egypt.	3 Essi adunque si partirono di Rameses, nel primo mese, nel quintodecimo giorno del primo mese; i figliuoli d’Israele si partirono il giorno appresso la Pasqua, a mano alzata, alla vista di tutti gli Egizj,
4 The Egyptians were burying those of their own people whom Yahweh had struck down, all the first-born; Yahweh had carried out his judgement on their gods.	4 mentre gli Egizj seppellivano quelli che il Signore avea percossi fra loro, che erano tutti i primogeniti. Or il Signore avea fatti giudicii sopra i lor dii.
5 The Israelites left Rameses and camped at Succoth.	5 I figliuoli d’Israele adunque, partitisi di Rameses, si accamparono in Succot.
6 Then they left Succoth and encamped at Etham which is on the edge of the desert.	6 E, partitisi di Succot, si accamparono in Etam, ch’è nell’estremità del deserto.
7 They left Etham, turned back to Pi-Hahiroth, opposite Baal-Zephon, and encamped before Migdol.	7 E, partitisi di Etam, si rivolsero verso la foce di Hirot, ch’è dirincontro a Baal-sefon, e si accamparono dinanzi a Migdol.
8 They left Pi-Hahiroth, crossed the sea into the desert, and after marching for three days in the desertof Etham they encamped at Marah.	8 Poi, partitisi d’innanzi a Hirot, passarono per mezzo il mare, traendo verso il deserto; e, andati tre giornate di cammino per lo deserto di Etam, si accamparono in Mara.
9 They left Marah and reached Elim. At Elim there were twelve springs of water and seventy palmtrees; they encamped there.	9 E, partitisi di Mara, giunsero in Elim, ove erano dodici fonti d’acqua, e settanta palme; e si accamparono quivi.
10 They left Elim and encamped by the Sea of Reeds.	10 E, partitisi di Elim, si accamparono presso al mar rosso.
11 They left the Sea of Reeds and encamped in the desert of Sin.	11 E, partitisi dal mar rosso, si accamparono nel deserto di Sin.

37 They left Kadesh and encamped at Mount Hor, on the borders of the land of Edom.	37 E, partitisi di Cades, si accamparono nel monte di Hor, nell’estremità del paese di Edom.
38 The priest Aaron went up Mount Hor on Yahweh's orders and died there in the fortieth year of theexodus of the Israelites from Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month.	38 E il sacerdote Aaronne salì in sul monte di Hor, per comandamento del Signore, e morì quivi nell’anno quarantesimo da che i figliuoli d’Israele furono usciti fuor del paese di Egitto, nel quinto mese, alle calendi.
39 Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on Mount Hor.	39 Or Aaronne era d’età di cenventitrè anni, quando egli morì nel monte di Hor.
40 The king of Arad, the Canaanite who lived in the Negeb of Canaan, heard of the Israelites' arrival.	40 Allora il Cananeo, re di Arad, che abitava verso il mezzodì, nel paese di Canaan, intese la venuta de’ figliuoli di Israele.
41 They left Mount Hor and encamped at Zalmonah.	41 Poi, partitisi dal monte di Hor, si accamparono in Salmona.
42 They left Zalmonah and encamped at Punon.	42 E, partitisi di Salmona, si accamparono in Funon.
43 They left Punon and encamped at Oboth.	43 E, partitisi di Funon, si accamparono in Obot.
44 They left Oboth and encamped in Moabite territory at Iye-Abarim.	44 E, partitisi di Obot, si accamparono a’ poggi di Abarim, a’ confini di Moab.
45 They left Iyim and encamped at Dibon-Gad.	45 E, partitisi da’ Poggi, si accamparono in Dibon-Gad.
46 They left Dibon-Gad and encamped at Almon-Diblathaim.	46 E, partitisi di Dibon-Gad, si accamparono in Almon, verso Diblataim.
47 They left Almon-Diblathaim and encamped in the Abarim mountains facing Nebo.	47 E, partitisi d’Almon, verso Diblataim, si accamparono nei monti di Abarim, dirimpetto a Nebo.
48 They left the Abarim mountains and encamped on the Plains of Moab, near the Jordan oppositeJericho.	48 E, partitisi da’ monti di Abarim, si accamparono nelle campagne di Moab, presso al Giordano di Gerico.
49 They encamped near the Jordan between Beth-ha-Jeshimoth and Abel-ha-Shittim, on the Plains ofMoab.	49 E si accamparono presso al Giordano, da Betiesimot fino ad Abel-Sittim, nelle campagne di Moab
50 Yahweh spoke to Moses on the Plains of Moab, near the Jordan by Jericho, and said:	50 E il Signore parlò a Mosè nelle campagne di Moab, presso al Giordano di Gerico, dicendo:
51 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "When you have crossed the Jordan into Canaan,	51 Parla a’ figliuoli d’Israele, e di’ loro: Quando sarete passati il Giordano, e sarete entrati nel paese di Canaan,
52 you wil drive out al the local inhabitants before you. You wil destroy al their painted images, youwil destroy al their metal statues and you wil demolish al their high places.	52 cacciate d’innanzi a voi tutti gli abitanti del paese, e disfate tutte le loro immagini, e tutte le loro statue di getto, e distruggete tutti i loro alti luoghi.
53 You wil take possession of the country and settle in it, for I have given you the country as yourproperty.	53 E mettetevi in possession del paese, e abitate in esso; conciossiachè io vi abbia donato il paese, per possederlo.
54 You wil share it out by lot among your clans. To a large clan you wil give a larger heritage, and to asmal er clan you wil give a smal er heritage. Where the lot fal s for each, that wil be his. Your heritage wildepend on the size of your tribe.	54 E spartite la possessione del paese a sorte, secondo le vostre nazioni; a quelle che sono in maggior numero date maggior possessione, e minore a quelle che sono in minor numero; in qualunque luogo la sorte d’alcuna gli sarà scaduta quello sia suo; spartitevi la possessione del paese per le vostre tribù paterne.
55 If, however, you do not drive out the local inhabitants before you, the ones you al ow to remain wilbe thorns in your eyes and thistles in your sides and wil harass you in the country where you are living,	55 E se voi non iscacciate d’innanzi a voi gli abitanti del paese, que’ di loro che avrete lasciati di resto vi saranno stecchi agli occhi, e spine a’ fianchi, e vi nimicheranno nel paese nel quale abiterete.
56 and I shal treat you as I intended to treat them." '	56 E avverrà ch’io farò a voi, come io avea proposto di fare a loro
