Leviticus 19

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 Parlò Iddio a Moisè, e dissegli:
2 'Speak to the whole community of Israelites and say: "Be holy, for I, Yahweh your God, am holy.	2 Parla a tutti i figliuoli d'Israel, e dirai a loro: siate santi, per ch' io sono santo, e sono Iddio vostro.
3 "Each of you wil respect father and mother. "And you wil keep my Sabbaths; I am Yahweh your God.	3 Ogni uomo tema lo padre suo e la madre sua. Le feste mie guardate. Io sono Iddio vostro.
4 "Do not turn to idols and do not cast metal gods for yourselves. I am Yahweh your God.	4 Non vogliate adorare gl'idoli, nè farvi iddii di metallo. Io sono Iddio vostro.
5 "If you offer a communion sacrifice to Yahweh, make it in such a way as to be acceptable.	5 Farete sacrificio di pacifici a Dio, acciò che vi sia benigno.
6 It must be eaten the same day or the day after; whatever is left on the third day must be burnt.	6 In quello die che l'offerrete lo mangerete, e lo dì secondo; se lo terzo dì ne rimanesse alcuna cosa, arderetela al fuoco.
7 If eaten on the third day it would be rotten food and not be acceptable.	7 E se alcuno ne mangiasse al terzo die, sarà sacrilego (e immondo) e colpabile d'empietà.
8 Anyone who eats it must bear the consequences of this guilt, having profaned Yahweh's holiness; thatperson wil be outlawed from his people.	8 E porterà la sua iniquità, però che le cose sante di Dio hae corrotte, e perirà quell'anima del suo popolo.
9 "When you reap the harvest of your land, you wil not reap to the very edges of the field, nor wil yougather the gleanings of the harvest;	9 Quando seghera' le biade della terra tua, non andera' insino alla radice; le spighe che rimasero non ricogliera'.
10 nor wil you strip your vineyard bare, nor pick up the fal en grapes. You will leave them for the poorand the stranger. I am Yahweh your God.	10 E nella vigna non ricogliera' i grappoli nè li granelli che caderanno, acciò che i poveri e i peregrini ne possano trovare. E io sono lo Signore e lo Iddio vostro.
11 "You will not steal, nor deal deceitful y or fraudulently with your fel ow-citizen.	11 Non farete furto; non mentirete; non ingannerà alcuno lo prossimo suo.
12 You wil not swear by my name with intent to deceive and thus profane the name of your God. I amYahweh.	12 Non ispergiurerai il nome mio, e non bia stemerai il nome del tuo Iddio; però che io sono Iddio.
13 You wil not exploit or rob your fel ow. You wil not keep back the labourer's wage until next morning.	13 Non farai ingiuria al prossimo tuo; per forza non lo sottomettere; non tenere il prezzo a chi t'avrà servito dall'uno dì all'altro.
14 You wil not curse the dumb or put an obstacle in the way of the blind, but will fear your God. I amYahweh.	14 Non maledicere lo sordo, e non porre cosa che offenda innanzi al cieco; ma temerai il nome del tuo Iddio; però che io son Signore.
15 "You will not be unjust in administering justice. You wil neither be partial to the poor nor overawed bythe great, but will administer justice to your fel ow-citizen justly.	15 Non fare cosa iniqua; nè non giudicherai ingiustamente. Non considerare la persona del povero; nel viso dello ricco non riguardare; ma giu stamente giudica lo prossimo tuo.
16 You wil not go about slandering your own family, nor will you put your neighbour's life in jeopardy. Iam Yahweh.	16 Non essere peccatore, nè rapportatore nel popolo; non istare contro al sangue del prossimo tuo. Io son Signore.
17 You wil not harbour hatred for your brother. You will reprove your fel ow-countryman firmly and thusavoid burdening yourself with a sin.	17 Non odiare nel cuore tuo il prossimo tuo, ma in manifesto lo riprendi, acciò che non abbii peccato inverso lui.
18 You wil not exact vengeance on, or bear any sort of grudge against, the members of your race, butwil love your neighbour as yourself. I am Yahweh.	18 Non addimandare vendetta; e non ti ricordi delle ingiurie del prossimo tuo. L'amico tuo amerai come te medesimo. Io son Signore.
19 "You will keep my laws. "You will not mate your cattle with those of another kind; you wil not sow twokinds of grain in your field; you wil not wear a garment made from two kinds of fabric.	19 E le mie leggi osserverete. Li tuoi animali non farai congiugnere con altre generazioni di animali. E nel tuo campo non seminare diversi semi. Di vesti, che siano di diversi colori, non ti vestire.
20 "If someone has intercourse with a woman who is the concubine slave of a man from whom she hasnot been redeemed and she has not been given her freedom, he wil be liable for a fine, but they will not incurdeath, since she was not a free woman.	20 E se l'uomo dormirà colla femina congiu gnendosi con lei, se è serva ovvero donna nubile, e per prezzo non sia stata redenta, nè per propria volontade donata, sì siano battuti amenduoi, e non siano morti, perciò che non fue libera.
21 He wil bring a sacrifice of reparation for Yahweh to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. This wil be aram of reparation,	21 Per lo peccato suo offerrà a Dio alla porta del tabernacolo della testimonianza uno montone.
22 and with the ram of reparation the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for him before Yahweh forthe sin committed; and the sin he has committed wil be forgiven.	22 E lo sacerdote pregherà per lui e per lo peccato suo dinnanzi al Signore, e Iddio gli perdo nerà, e saragli propizio.
23 "Once you have entered the country and planted any kind of fruit tree, you will regard its fruit asuncircumcised. For three years you wil count it as uncircumcised and it wil not be eaten;	23 E quando anderete alli vostri campi per piantare arbori, torrete li primi pomi, perciò che sono immondi, e di quelli non mangerete.
24 in the fourth year, al its fruit wil be consecrated to Yahweh in a feast of praise;	24 Nello quarto anno ogni frutto che faranno sì sarà santificato nel cospetto di Dio.
25 and in the fifth year you may eat its fruit, so that it may yield you even more. I am Yahweh your God.	25 Nel quinto anno mangerete ogni frutto che faranno. E io sono lo vostro Signore Iddio.
26 "You will eat nothing with blood in it. You wil not practise divination or magic.	26 Non mangerete (la carne) col sangue. Non farete [augurii], e non crederete alli sogni.
27 "You will not round off your hair at the edges or trim the edges of your beard.	27 Non vi tondate il capo, non vi radete la barba.
28 You wil not gash your bodies when someone dies, and you will not tattoo yourselves. I am Yahweh.	28 E sopra lo morto non vi tagliate la carne; (non intagliate); e non farete figure; e non vi fate segni (nella carne con fuoco ovver altra materia); perciò ch' io sono Iddio.
29 "Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the country itself will become prostitutedand fil ed with incest.	29 Non porre la tua figliuola al postribolo, acciò che la terra non si contamini ed empiasi di peccato.
30 "You will keep my Sabbaths and revere my sanctuary. I am Yahweh.	30 Le mie feste guarderete, e lo santuario mio abbiate in reverenza; e io sono Iddio vostro.
31 "Do not have recourse to the spirits of the dead or to magicians; they wil defile you. I, Yahweh, amyour God.	31 Non andate agli maghi nè aglindovini, e non credete a loro, acciò che vi facciano peccare. Io sono Iddio vostro.
32 "You will stand up in the presence of grey hair, you wil honour the person of the aged and fear yourGod. I am Yahweh.	32 Lièvati su dinnanzi a quello che è canuto, e onora la persona del vecchio; e temi il tuo Signore Iddio. Io sono lo Signore.
33 "If you have resident aliens in your country, you wil not molest them.	33 E se lo forestiere viene fra voi è istavvi, non lo cacciate.
34 You wil treat resident aliens as though they were native-born and love them as yourself -- for youyourselves were once aliens in Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.	34 Ma istia fra voi siccome uno di voi, e da voi sia amato come voi istessi; perciò che voi foste forestieri in Egitto, e io sono Iddio vostro.
35 "You will not be unjust in administering justice as regards measures of length, weight or capacity.	35 Non fate iniquità nè ingiustizia; ma fate in mesura, in regola e in peso tutte le cose vostre.
36 You wil have just scales, just weights, a just ephah and a just hin. I am Yahweh your God whobrought you out of Egypt;	36 La statera sia giusta e li pesi eguali. Giusto sia il moggio e lo staio eguale. Io sono lo vostro Iddio, lo quale vi trassi d'Egitto.
37 hence you are to keep al my laws and all my customs and put them into practice. I am Yahweh." '	37 Osservate tutti li miei comandamenti, e tutti li miei giudicii; però ch' io sono Iddio vostro Signore.
