Psalms 115

1 Not to us, Yahweh, not to us, but to your name give the glory, for your faithful love and yourconstancy!	1 Non a noi, o Jahvè, non a noi ma al tuo nome dà gloria! Per la tua misericordia e la tua bontà!
2 Why should the nations ask, 'Where is their God?'	2 Perché debbono dire le genti: «Dov’è il loro Dio?»
3 Our God is in heaven, he creates whatever he chooses.	3 E il nostro Dio è nei cieli, tutto ciò che volle creò,
4 They have idols of silver and gold, made by human hands.	4 I loro idoli sono argento e oro, fattura di mani d’uomo.
5 These have mouths but say nothing, have eyes but see nothing,	5 Hanno bocca ma non parlano, hanno occhi ma non vedono.
6 have ears but hear nothing, have noses but smel nothing.	6 Hanno orecchi ma non odono, hanno naso ma non fiutano.
7 They have hands but cannot feel, have feet but cannot walk, no sound comes from their throats.	7 Hanno mani ma non palpano, piedi ma non possono marciare; non padano con le loro gole.
8 Their makers wil end up like them, and al who rely on them.	8 Come loro, siano coloro che li fecero, ognuno che confida in essi.
9 House of Israel, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.	9 Israele, confida in Jahvè, loro aiuto e loro scudo è lui.
10 House of Aaron, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.	10 Casa di Aronne, confida in Jahvè, loro scudo e loro aiuto è lui.
11 You who fear Yahweh, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.	11 Voi che temete Jahvè, confidate in Jahvè, loro aiuto e loro scudo è lui.
12 Yahweh wil keep us in mind, he will bless, he wil bless the House of Israel, he wil bless the Houseof Aaron,	12 Jahvè si ricorda di noi, benedice; benedice la casa di Israele, benedice la casa di Aronne.
13 he wil bless those who fear Yahweh, small and great alike.	13 Benedice coloro che temono Jahvè, piccoli e grandi.
14 May Yahweh add to your numbers, yours and your children's too!	14 Vi faccia prosperare assai Jahvè, voi e i vostri figli.
15 May you be blessed by Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.	15 Benedetti voi per Jahvè, creatore del cielo e della terra:
16 Heaven belongs to Yahweh, but earth he has given to the children of Adam.	16 i cieli sono i cieli di Jahvè, ma diede la terra ai figli dell’uomo.
17 The dead cannot praise Yahweh, those who sink into silence,	17 Non i morti loderanno Jahvè né quanti discendono nel silenzio.
18 but we, the living, shal bless Yahweh, henceforth and for ever.	18 Ma noi benediciamo Jahvè; da ora in eterno. Alleluia!
