Zechariah 4

1 Then the angel who spoke with me returned and awakened me, like a man awakened from his sleep.	1 L'ange qui parlait en moi revint, et me réveilla comme un homme qu'on réveille de son sommeil.
2 "What do you see?" he asked me. "I see a lampstand all of gold, with a bowl at the top," I replied; "on it are seven lamps with their tubes,	2 Et il me dit : Que vois-tu ? Je répondis : Je vois un chandelier tout d'or, et il y a une lampe à son sommet, et sept lampes au-dessus de lui, et sept canaux pour les lampes qui sont à son sommet.
3 and beside it are two olive trees, one on the right and the other on the left."	3 Et il y avait deux oliviers au-dessus de lui : l'un à droite de la lampe, et l'autre à sa gauche.
4 Then I said to the angel who spoke with me, "What are these things, my lord?"	4 Je repris la parole, et je dis à l'ange qui parlait en moi : Qu'est-ce que cela, mon seigneur ?
5 And the angel who spoke with me replied, "Do you not know what these things are?" "No, my lord," I answered.	5 Et l'ange qui parlait en moi répondit et me dit : Ne sais-tu pas ce que c'est ? Et je dis : Non, mon seigneur.
6 Then he said to me, "This is the LORD'S message to Zerubbabel: Not by an army, nor by might, but by my spirit, says the LORD of hosts.	6 Il reprit et me dit : C'est ici la parole que le Seigneur adresse à Zorobabel : Ni par une armée, ni par la force (que tu achèveras le temple), mais par mon esprit, dit le Seigneur des armées.
7 What are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you are but a plain. He shall bring out the capstone amid exclamations of 'Hail, Hail' to it."	7 Qui es-tu, ô grande montagne, devant Zorobabel ? Tu seras aplanie ; et il posera la pierre principale, et il rendra la grâce (une beauté) égale à sa grâce (beauté).
8 This word of the LORD then came to me:	8 La parole du Seigneur me fut adressée en ces termes (disant, note) :
9 The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundations of this house, and his hands shall finish it; then you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you.	9 Les mains de Zorobabel ont fondé cette maison, et ses mains l'achèveront ; et vous saurez que c'est le Seigneur des armées qui m'a envoyé vers vous.
10 For even they who were scornful on that day of small beginnings shall rejoice to see the select stone in the hands of Zerubbabel. These seven facets are the eyes of the LORD that range over the whole earth.	10 Quel est celui qui méprise les jours humbles (courts) ? Ils se réjouiront lorsqu'ils verront le fil à plomb dans la main de Zorobabel. Ce sont là les sept yeux du Seigneur, qui parcourent toute la terre.
11 I then asked him, "What are these two olive trees at each side of the lampstand?"	11 Alors je pris la parole, et je lui dis : Que sont ces deux oliviers, à la droite et à la gauche du chandelier ?
12 And again I asked, "What are the two olive tufts which freely pour out fresh oil through the two golden channels?"	12 Je pris une seconde fois la parole, et je lui dis : Que sont les deux rameaux (branches) d'olivier qui sont auprès des deux becs d'or, où sont les canaux d'or (par où coule l'huile) ?
13 "Do you not know what these are?" he said to me. "No, my lord," I answered him.	13 Et il me dit : Ne sais-tu pas ce que cela signifie ? Je répondis : Non, mon Seigneur.
14 He said, "These are the two anointed who stand by the LORD of the whole earth."	14 Et il dit : Ce sont les deux oints (fils de l'huile sainte) qui se tiennent devant le Dominateur de toute la terre.
