1 Concerning Moab, thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Woe to Nebo, it is laid waste; Kiriathaim is disgraced and captured, Disgraced and overthrown is the stronghold:	1 Sobre Moab. Así dice Yahveh Sebaot, el Dios de Israel: ¡Ay de Nebo, porque ha sido saqueada! Está confusa, ha sido tomada Quiryatáyim. Está confusa la acrópolis y anonadada.
2 Moab's glory is no more. Evil they plan against Heshbon: "Come, let us put an end to her as a people." You, too, Madmen, shall be reduced to silence; behind you stalks the sword.	2 Ya no existe la prez de Moab. En Jesbón han planeado su ruina: «Vamos y borrémosla de entre las naciones». También a ti, Madmén, se te hará callar. La espada te va a la zaga.
3 Listen! a cry from Horonaim of ruin and great destruction!	3 Gritos desde Joronáyim, devastación y quebranto grande.
4 Moab is crushed, their outcry is heard in Zoar.	4 Quebrantada fue Moab. Hácense oír los gritos de sus pequeños.

40 For thus says the LORD: Behold, like an eagle he soars, spreads his wings over Moab.	40 Porque así ha dicho Yahveh: (Ved cómo cual un águila se remonta y extiende sus alas sobre Moab.)
41 Cities are taken, strongholds seized: On that day the hearts of Moab's heroes are like the heart of a woman in travail.	41 Tomadas fueron las plazas, y las fortalezas ocupadas. (Vendrá a ser el corazón de los valientes de Moab en aquel día como corazón de mujer en parto.)
42 Moab shall be destroyed, no more a people, because he boasted against the LORD.	42 Devastado está Moab que ya no es pueblo, porque contra Yahveh se engrandeció.
43 Terror, pit, and trap be upon you, people of Moab, says the LORD.	43 Pánico, hoya y trampa contra ti, morador de Moab, - oráculo de Yahveh.
44 He who flees from the terror falls into the pit; He who climbs from the pit is caught in the trap; For I will bring these things upon Moab in the year of their punishment, says the LORD.	44 El que huya del pánico, caerá en la hoya y el que suba de la hoya será preso en la trampa, porque voy a hacer que se llegue a ella, a Moab, el año de su castigo - oráculo de Yahveh -.
