Leviticus 26

1 "Do not make false gods for yourselves. You shall not erect an idol or a sacred pillar for yourselves, nor shall you set up a stone figure for worship in your land; for I, the LORD, am your God.	1 "Ihr sollt euch keine Götzen anfertigen, Schnitzbilder und Steinmale nicht errichten, Steine mit Bildwerk in eurem Land nicht aufstellen, um davor niederzufallen; denn ich, der Herr, bin euer Gott!
2 Keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary. I am the LORD.	2 Meine Sabbate sollt ihr beobachten und vor meinem Heiligtum Ehrfurcht haben. Ich bin der Herr!
3 "If you live in accordance with my precepts and are careful to observe my commandments,	3 Wenn ihr in meinen Satzungen wandelt und meine Gebote beobachtet und sie erfüllt,
4 I will give you rain in due season, so that the land will bear its crops, and the trees their fruit;	4 gebe ich euch Regenfälle zur rechten Zeit; der Boden wird seinen Ertrag geben, und die Feldbäume geben ihre Frucht.
5 your threshing will last till vintage time, and your vintage till the time for sowing, and you will have food to eat in abundance, so that you may dwell securely in your land.	5 Das Dreschen soll sich dann bei euch hinziehen bis zur Weinlese, und die Weinlese soll dauern bis zur Aussaat; ihr habt euer Brot in Fülle zu essen und sollt sicher in eurem Lande wohnen!
6 I will establish peace in the land, that you may lie down to rest without anxiety. I will rid the country of ravenous beasts, and keep the sword of war from sweeping across your land.	6 Ich verleihe dem Land Frieden. Ihr könnt euch niederlegen, ohne daß euch jemand aufschreckt; die wilden Tiere vertilge ich aus dem Land; kein Schwert soll in eurem Land umgehen!
7 You will rout your enemies and lay them low with your sword.	7 Ihr werdet eure Feinde in die Flucht schlagen; sie werden vor euch durch das Schwert fallen!
8 Five of you will put a hundred of your foes to flight, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand of them, till they are cut down by your sword.	8 Fünf von euch werden hundert, hundert von euch werden zehntausend in die Flucht schlagen; eure Feinde fallen vor euch durch das Schwert!
9 I will look with favor upon you, and make you fruitful and numerous, as I carry out my covenant with you.	9 Ich wende mich euch zu, lasse euch fruchtbar und zahlreich werden und errichte meinen Bund mit euch!
10 So much of the old crops will you have stored up for food that you will have to discard them to make room for the new.	10 Ihr werdet altes, abgelagertes Getreide zu essen haben und müßt das alte hinausschaffen wegen der Fülle an neuem.
11 I will set my Dwelling among you, and will not disdain you.	11 Ich schlage meine Wohnstätte in eurer Mitte auf, und meine Seele empfindet vor euch keinen Abscheu!
12 Ever present in your midst, I will be your God, and you will be my people;	12 Mitten unter euch will ich wandeln, will euch Gott sein, und ihr sollt mein Volk sein!
13 for it is I, the LORD, your God, who brought you out of the land of the Egyptians and freed you from their slavery, breaking the yoke they had laid upon you and letting you walk erect.	13 Ich bin der Herr, euer Gott, der euch aus dem Land Ägypten herausgeführt hat, so daß ihr nicht länger ihre Sklaven sein mußtet. Ich zerbrach die Stäbe eures Joches und ließ euch in aufrechter Haltung einhergehen.
14 "But if you do not heed me and do not keep all these commandments,	14 Hört ihr aber nicht auf mich und erfüllt nicht alle diese Gebote,
15 if you reject my precepts and spurn my decrees, refusing to obey all my commandments and breaking my covenant,	15 mißachtet ihr meine Satzungen, und verabscheut euer Herz meine Vorschriften, so daß ihr nicht nach meinen Geboten handelt, sondern meinen Bund brecht,
16 then I, in turn, will give you your deserts. I will punish you with terrible woes--with wasting and fever to dim the eyes and sap the life. You will sow your seed in vain, for your enemies will consume the crop.	16 dann handle auch ich an euch entsprechend und lasse schreckliche Heimsuchungen über euch kommen: Schwindsucht und Fieber, welche die Augen zum Erlöschen und das Leben zum Schwinden bringen. Vergebens sät ihr den Samen aus; eure Feinde werden eure Ernte verzehren.
17 I will turn against you, till you are beaten down before your enemies and lorded over by your foes. You will take to flight though no one pursues you.	17 Ich kehre mein Antlitz wider euch; ihr werdet geschlagen von euren Feinden, eure Hasser werden euch unterjochen; ihr flieht, ohne daß euch jemand verfolgt.
18 "If even after this you do not obey me, I will increase the chastisement for your sins sevenfold,	18 Seid ihr mir auch dann noch ungehorsam, so will ich euch noch zusätzlich siebenfach für eure Sünden züchtigen!
19 to break your haughty confidence. I will make the sky above you as hard as iron, and your soil as hard as bronze,	19 Ich zerbreche eure Stärke, auf die ihr so stolz seid, und mache den Himmel über euch wie Eisen und euren Boden wie Erz.
20 so that your strength will be spent in vain; your land will bear no crops, and its trees no fruit.	20 Vergebens wird eure Kraft verbraucht, denn euer Land wird seinen Ertrag nicht mehr geben, und die Bäume auf dem Felde werden keine Früchte tragen.
21 "If then you become defiant in your unwillingness to obey me, I will multiply my blows another sevenfold, as your sins deserve.	21 Leistet ihr mir auch dann noch Widerstand und wollt mir nicht gehorchen, so schlage ich euch weiter siebenmal für eure Sünden.
22 I will unleash the wild beasts against you, to rob you of your children and wipe out your livestock, till your population dwindles away and your roads become deserted.	22 Ich sende euch wilde Tiere, die eure Kinder rauben, euer Vieh zerreißen und eure Zahl vermindern, so daß eure Straßen veröden.
23 "If, with all this, you still refuse to be chastened by me and continue to defy me,	23 Laßt ihr euch hierdurch nicht von mir warnen und widerstrebt ihr mir weiter,
24 I, too, will defy you and will smite you for your sins seven times harder than before.	24 dann widerstrebe auch ich euch und schlage euch für eure Sünden siebenfach.
25 I will make the sword, the avenger of my covenant, sweep over you. Though you then huddle together in your walled cities, I will send in pestilence among you, till you are forced to surrender to the enemy.	25 Ich bringe über euch das Schwert, das Rache nehmen soll für den Bundesbruch; zieht ihr euch dann in eure Städte zurück, schicke ich die Pest in eure Mitte und gebe euch in die Hand eurer Feinde.
26 And as I cut off your supply of bread, ten women will need but one oven for baking all the bread they dole out to you in rations--not enough food to still your hunger.	26 Wenn ich euch die Stütze des Brotes zerbreche, dann werden zehn Frauen euer Brot in einem einzigen Ofen backen und euch das Brot abgewogen zuteilen; ihr werdet es essen, ohne satt zu werden.
27 "If, despite all this, you still persist in disobeying and defying me,	27 Wenn ihr mir daraufhin immer noch nicht gehorcht und mir weiter zuwiderhandelt,
28 I, also, will meet you with fiery defiance and will chastise you with sevenfold fiercer punishment for your sins,	28 dann handle auch ich in meinem Grimm gegen euch und züchtige euch meinerseits siebenfach für eure Sünden.
29 till you begin to eat the flesh of your own sons and daughters.	29 Ihr werdet das Fleisch eurer Söhne essen und das Fleisch eurer. Töchter verzehren.
30 I will demolish your high places, overthrow your incense stands, and cast your corpses on those of your idols. In my abhorrence of you,	30 Ich zerstöre eure Opferhöhen und zermalme eure Sonnensäulen und werde eure Leichen auf die Leichen eurer Götzen werfen, und meine Seele wird vor euch Ekel empfinden.
31 I will lay waste your cities and devastate your sanctuaries, refusing to accept your sweet-smelling offerings.	31 Eure Städte will ich in Trümmer verwandeln, eure Heiligtümer verwüsten und euren lieblichen Opferduft nicht mehr riechen.
32 So devastated will I leave the land that your very enemies who come to live there will stand aghast at the sight of it.	32 Ich selbst verwüste das Land, so daß sich darüber sogar eure Feinde entsetzen, die es in Besitz nehmen.
33 You yourselves I will scatter among the nations at the point of my drawn sword, leaving your countryside desolate and your cities deserted.	33 Euch aber will ich unter die Heidenvölker zerstreuen und hinter euch her das Schwert zücken: euer Land soll zur Wüste werden und eure Städte zu Trümmerhaufen.
34 Then shall the land retrieve its lost sabbaths during all the time it lies waste, while you are in the land of your enemies; then shall the land have rest and make up for its sabbaths	34 Dann wird das Land seine Sabbatjahre ersetzt bekommen die ganze Zeit hindurch, die es wüst liegt und ihr im Land eurer Feinde seid; wahrlich, dann hält das Land seine Sabbatruhe und trägt seine Ruhezeiten ab.
35 during all the time that it lies desolate, enjoying the rest that you would not let it have on the sabbaths when you lived there.	35 In all den Tagen, da es verwüstet liegt, feiert es die Ruhezeit, die es nicht gefeiert hat an euren Sabbaten, als ihr noch darin wohntet.
36 "Those of you who survive in the lands of their enemies I will make so fainthearted that, if leaves rustle behind them, they will flee headlong, as if from the sword, though no one pursues them;	36 Denen, die von euch noch übrigbleiben, erfülle ich das Herz mit Angst in den Ländern ihrer Feinde, es jagt sie schon das Rascheln eines verwehten Blattes; sie fliehen, wie man vor dem Schwerte flieht, und stürzen hin, ohne daß jemand sie verfolgt.
37 stumbling over one another as if to escape a weapon, while no one is after them--so helpless will you be to take a stand against your foes!	37 Und sie straucheln einer über den anderen wie auf der Flucht vor dem Schwert, ohne daß einer sie verfolgt; vor dem Angesicht eurer Feinde wird es kein Standhalten geben.
38 You will be lost among the Gentiles, swallowed up in your enemies' country.	38 Ihr geht unter den Völkern zugrunde; das Land eurer Feinde wird euch verschlingen.
39 Those of you who survive in the lands of their enemies will waste away for their own and their fathers' guilt.	39 Die unter euch noch übrigbleiben, sollen wegen ihrer Sündenschuld in den Ländern eurer Feinde dahinschwinden; auch um der Verschuldungen eurer Väter willen werden sie dahinsiechen wie diese!
40 "Thus they will have to confess that they and their fathers were guilty of having rebelled against me and of having defied me,	40 Einst werden sie aber ihre Schuld und die Schuld ihrer Väter bekennen, die sie ob ihrer Treulosigkeit auf sich luden, und weil sie mir widerstrebten.
41 so that I, too, had to defy them and bring them into their enemies' land. Then, when their uncircumcised hearts are humbled and they make amends for their guilt,	41 Deshalb widerstrebte auch ich ihnen und brachte sie ins Land ihrer Feinde. Wenn sich dann ihr unbeschnittenes Herz beugt, und wenn sie ihre Sündenschuld büßen,
42 I will remember my covenant with Jacob, my covenant with Isaac, and my covenant with Abraham; and of the land, too, I will be mindful.	42 So gedenke ich meines Bundes mit Jakob, mit Isaak und mit Abraham und gedenke des Landes.
43 But the land must first be rid of them, that in its desolation it may make up its lost sabbaths, and that they, too, may make good the debt of their guilt for having spurned my precepts and abhorred my statutes.	43 Aber das Land muß von ihnen verlassen werden und seine Sabbatjahre ersetzen, solange es verödet daliegt; sie müssen ihre Sündenschuld büßen, weil sie meine Satzungen verwarfen und vor meinen Geboten Abscheu empfangen.
44 Yet even so, even while they are in their enemies' land, I will not reject or spurn them, lest, by wiping them out, I make void my covenant with them; for I, the LORD, am their God.	44 Aber auch dann, wenn sie im Land ihrer Feinde sind, verwerfe ich sie nicht, um sie zu vertilgen und meinen Bund mit ihnen zu brechen; denn ich bin der Herr, ihr Gott!
45 I will remember them because of the covenant I made with their forefathers, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt under the very eyes of the Gentiles, that I, the LORD, might be their God."	45 Ich will, ihnen zum Heil, des Bundes mit den Vorfahren gedenken, die ich aus dem Lande Ägypten unter den Augen der Heidenvölker fortgeführt habe, um ihr Gott zu sein, ich, der Herr!"
46 These are the precepts, decrees and laws which the LORD had Moses promulgate on Mount Sinai in the pact between himself and the Israelites.	46 Dies sind die Gesetze, die Gebote und Weisungen, die der Herr zwischen sich und den Israeliten auf dem Berge Sinai durch die Vermittlung des Moses aufgestellt hat.
