1 O LORD God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before thee:	1 Ein Lied, ein Psalm von den Korahiten; dem Musikmeister, nach (der Singweise = Melodie) »die Krankheit«; ein Lehrgedicht (vgl. 32,1) von Heman, dem Esrahiten.
2 Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry;	2 O HERR, du Gott meines Heils,ich rufe bei Tage und schreie nachts vor dir:
3 For my soul is full of troubles: and my life draweth nigh unto the grave.	3 o laß mein Gebet vor dich kommen,neige dein Ohr meinem Flehen zu!
4 I am counted with them that go down into the pit: I am as a man that hath no strength:	4 Denn meine Seele ist mit Leiden gesättigt,und mein Leben naht sich dem Totenreich.
5 Free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom thou rememberest no more: and they are cut off from thy hand.	5 Schon zählt man mich zu den ins Grab Gesunknen,ich bin wie ein Mann ohne Lebenskraft.
6 Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, in darkness, in the deeps.	6 Unter den Toten hab’ ich mein Lagergleichwie Erschlagne, die im Grabe liegen,deren du nicht mehr gedenkst:sie sind ja deiner Hand entrückt.
7 Thy wrath lieth hard upon me, and thou hast afflicted me with all thy waves. Selah.	7 Du hast mich in die Grube der Unterwelt versetzt,in finstre Nacht, in die Tiefe;
8 Thou hast put away mine acquaintance far from me; thou hast made me an abomination unto them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.	8 auf mir lastet schwer dein Grimm,und mit all deinen Wogen drückst du mich nieder. SELA.
9 Mine eye mourneth by reason of affliction: LORD, I have called daily upon thee, I have stretched out my hands unto thee.	9 Meine Bekannten hast du mir entfremdet,hast mich ihnen zum Abscheu gemacht; eingeschlossen bin ich und kann nicht hinaus:
10 Wilt thou shew wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise and praise thee? Selah.	10 mein Auge erlischt vor Elend.Ich rufe zu dir, o HERR, jeden Tag,ich breite zu dir meine Hände aus:
11 Shall thy lovingkindness be declared in the grave? or thy faithfulness in destruction?	11 »Kannst an den Toten du Wunder tun,oder werden Schatten aufstehn, um dich zu preisen? SELA.
12 Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?	12 Wird man im Grabe von deiner Gnade erzählen,von deiner Treue im Abgrund?
13 But unto thee have I cried, O LORD; and in the morning shall my prayer prevent thee.	13 Verkündet man dein Wunderwalten in der Finsternisund deine Gerechtigkeit im Lande des Vergessens?«
14 LORD, why castest thou off my soul? why hidest thou thy face from me?	14 Ich dagegen rufe laut zu dir, o HERR,schon am Morgen tritt mein Gebet vor dich:
15 I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up: while I suffer thy terrors I am distracted.	15 »Warum, o HERR, verwirfst du mich,verbirgst du dein Antlitz vor mir?«
16 Thy fierce wrath goeth over me; thy terrors have cut me off.	16 Elend bin ich und siech von Jugend auf,ich trage deine Schrecken und verzweifle.
17 They came round about me daily like water; they compassed me about together.	17 Deine Zornesgluten sind über mich hingegangen,deine Schrecknisse haben mich vernichtet;
18 Lover and friend hast thou put far from me, and mine acquaintance into darkness.	18 sie umgeben mich immerdar wie Wasserfluten,umringen mich allzumal.
	19 Freunde und Gefährten hast du mir entfremdet:nur die Finsternis ist mir vertraut (geblieben).
