KING JAMES BIBLENEW AMERICAN BIBLE
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.1 For the leader. Of David. Fools say in their hearts, "There is no God." Their deeds are loathsome and corrupt; not one does what is right.
The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.2 The LORD looks down from heaven upon the human race, To see if even one is wise, if even one seeks God.
They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.3 All have gone astray; all alike are perverse. Not one does what is right, not even one.
Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.4 Will these evildoers never learn? They devour my people as they devour bread; they do not call upon the LORD.
There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.5 They have good reason, then, to fear; God is with the company of the just.
Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge.6 They would crush the hopes of the poor, but the poor have the LORD as their refuge.
Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.7 Oh, that from Zion might come the deliverance of Israel, That Jacob may rejoice, and Israel be glad when the LORD restores his people!
