Psalmen 1

1 Wohl dem Mann, der nicht dem Rat der Frevler folgt, nicht auf dem Weg der Sünder geht, nicht im Kreis der Spötter sitzt,	1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
2 sondern Freude hat an der Weisung des Herrn, über seine Weisung nachsinnt bei Tag und bei Nacht.	2 but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 Er ist wie ein Baum, der an Wasserbächen gepflanzt ist, der zur rechten Zeit seine Frucht bringt und dessen Blätter nicht welken. Alles, was er tut, wird ihm gut gelingen.	3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.
4 Nicht so die Frevler: Sie sind wie Spreu, die der Wind verweht.	4 The wicked are not so, but are like chaff which the wind drives away.
5 Darum werden die Frevler im Gericht nicht bestehen noch die Sünder in der Gemeinde der Gerechten.	5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
6 Denn der Herr kennt den Weg der Gerechten, der Weg der Frevler aber führt in den Abgrund.	6 for the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
