1 And the princes of the families of Galaad, the son of Machir, the son of Manasses, of the stock Of the children of Joseph, came and spoke to Moses before the princes of Israel, and said:	1 I capicasata della famiglia dei figli di Galaad, figlio di Machir, figlio di Manasse, una delle famiglie dei figli di Giuseppe, si accostarono per parlare innanzi a Mosè, al sacerdote Eleazaro e ai principi capicasata dei figli di Israele
2 The Lord hath commanded thee, my lord, that thou shouldst divide the land by lot to the children of Israel, and that thou shouldst give to the daughters of Salphaad our brother the possession due to their father:	2 e dissero: «Jahvè ha ordinato al mio signore di assegnare la terra in eredità ai figli di Israele mediante il sorteggio; il mio signore ha ricevuto l’ordine da Jahvè di dare l’eredità di Zelofekhad nostro fratello alle sue figlie.
3 Now if men of another tribe take them to wives, their possession will follow them, and being transferred to another tribe, will be a diminishing of our inheritance.	3 Ora, se esse sposano membri di altre tribù dei figli di Israele, la loro eredità sarà sottratta dall’eredità dei nostri padri, sarà aggiunta all’eredità della tribù a cui apparterranno, così sarà sottratta dalla sorte della nostra eredità.
4 And so it shall come to pass, that when the jubilee, that is, the fiftieth year of remission, is come, the distribution made by the lots shall be confounded, and the possession of the one shall pass to the others.	4 Quando verrà il giubileo per i figli di Israele, la loro eredità sarà aggiunta all’eredità delle tribù a cui apparterranno dall’eredità della tribù dei nostri padri sarà così sottratta la loro eredità».
5 Moses answered the children of Israel, and said by the command of the Lord: The tribe of the children of Joseph hath spoken rightly.	5 Per comando di Jahvè, Mosè ordinò ai figli di Israele: «La tribù dei figli di Giuseppe ha parlato bene.
6 And this is the law promulgated by the Lord touching the daughters of Salphaad: Let them marry to whom they will, only so that it be to men of their own tribe.	6 Ecco: quanto Jahvè ordina per le glie di Zelofekhad: Sposeranno chi piacerà loro, purché si sposino in una famiglia della tribù paterna.
7 Lest the possession of the children of Israel be mingled from tribe to tribe. For all men shall marry wives of their own tribe and kindred:	7 L’eredità dei figli di Israele non passerà: da tribù a tribù poiché ognuno dei figli di Israele resterà unito all’eredità della tribù dei suoi padri.
8 And all women shall take husbands of the same tribe: that the inheritance may remain in the families,	8 Ogni figlia che possiede una eredità in una delle tribù di Israele si dovrà sposare in una famiglia della tribù paterna, affinché ognuno dei figli di Israele possieda l’eredità di suo padre
9 And that the tribes be not mingled one with another, but remain so	9 e una eredità non passi da tribù a tribù: ognuna delle tribù dei figli di Israele resterà unita alla propria eredità».
10 As they were separated by the Lord. And the daughters of Salphaad did as was commanded:	10 Le figlie di Zelofekhad fecero: come Jahvè aveva ordinato a Mosè,
11 And Maala, and Thersa, and Hegla, and Melcha, and Noa were married to the sons of their uncle by their father	11 Makhla, Tirza, Khogla, Milcha e Noa sposarono i figli dei loro zii paterni.
12 Of the family of Manasses, who was the son of Joseph: and the possession that had been allotted to them, remained in the tribe and family of their father.	12 Si sposarono entro e famiglie dei del di Manasse figlio di Giuseppe e la loro eredità rimase nella tribù della famiglia paterna.
13 These are the commandments and judgments, which the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses to the children of Israel, in the plains of Moab upon the Jordan over against Jericho.	13 Questi sono i comandamenti e le leggi che Jahvè prescrisse ai figli di Israele per mezzo di Mosè: nelle steppe di Moab, presso il Giordano di Gerico.
