EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Perseveren en el amor fraternal.	1 Continue to love each other like brothers,
2 No se olviden de practicar la hospitalidad, ya que gracias a ella, algunos, sin saberlo, hospedaron a los ángeles.	2 and remember always to welcome strangers, for by doing this, some people have entertained angelswithout knowing it.
3 Acuérdense de los que están presos, como si ustedes lo estuvieran con ellos, y de los que son maltratados, como si ustedes estuvieran en su mismo cuerpo.	3 Keep in mind those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them; and those who arebeing badly treated, since you too are in the body.
4 Respeten el matrimonio y no deshonren el lecho conyugal, porque Dios condenará a los lujuriosos y a los adúlteros.	4 Marriage must be honoured by al , and marriages must be kept undefiled, because the sexuallyimmoral and adulterers wil come under God's judgement.
5 No se dejen llevar de la avaricia, y conténtense con lo que tienen, porque el mismo Dios ha dicho: No te dejaré ni te abandonaré.	5 Put avarice out of your lives and be content with whatever you have; God himself has said: I shal notfail you or desert you,
6 De manera que podemos decir con plena confianza: El Señor es mi protector: no temeré. ¿Qué podrán hacerme los hombres?	6 and so we can say with confidence: With the Lord on my side, I fear nothing: what can human beingsdo to me?
7 Acuérdense de quienes los dirigían, porque ellos les anunciaron la Palabra de Dios: consideren cómo terminó su vida e imiten su fe.	7 Remember your leaders, who preached the word of God to you, and as you reflect on the outcome oftheir lives, take their faith as your model.
8 Jesucristo es el mismo ayer y hoy, y lo será para siempre.	8 Jesus Christ is the same today as he was yesterday and as he wil be for ever.
9 No se dejen extraviar por cualquier clase de doctrinas extrañas. Lo mejor es fortalecer el corazón con la gracia, no con alimentos que de nada aprovechan a quienes los comen.	9 Do not be led astray by al sorts of strange doctrines: it is better to rely on grace for inner strength thanon food, which has done no good to those who concentrate on it.
10 Nosotros tenemos un altar del que no tienen derecho a comer los ministros de la Antigua Alianza.	10 We have our own altar from which those who serve the Tent have no right to eat.
11 Los animales sacrificados, cuya sangre es llevada al Santuario por el Sumo Sacerdote para la expiación del pecado, son quemados fuera del campamento.	11 The bodies of the animals whose blood is taken into the sanctuary by the high priest for the rite ofexpiation are burnt outside the camp,
12 Por eso Jesús, para santificar al pueblo con su sangre, padeció fuera de las puertas de la ciudad.	12 and so Jesus too suffered outside the gate to sanctify the people with his own blood.
13 Salgamos nosotros también del campamento, para ir hacia él, cargando su deshonra.	13 Let us go to him, then, outside the camp, and bear his humiliation.
14 Porque no tenemos aquí abajo una ciudad permanente, sino que buscamos la futura.	14 There is no permanent city for us here; we are looking for the one which is yet to be.
15 Y por medio de él, ofrezcamos sin cesar a Dios un sacrificio de alabanza, es decir, el fruto de los labios que confiesan su Nombre.	15 Through him, let us offer God an unending sacrifice of praise, the fruit of the lips of those whoacknowledge his name.
16 Hagan siempre el bien y compartan lo que poseen, porque esos son sacrificios agradables a Dios.	16 Keep doing good works and sharing your resources, for these are the kinds of sacrifice that pleaseGod.
17 Obedezcan con docilidad a quienes los dirigen, porque ellos se desvelan por ustedes, como quien tiene que dar cuenta. Así ellos podrán cumplir su deber con alegría y no penosamente, lo cual no les reportaría a ustedes ningún provecho.	17 Obey your leaders and give way to them; they watch over your souls because they must give anaccount of them; make this a joy for them to do, and not a grief -- you yourselves would be the losers.
18 Rueguen por nosotros. En realidad, estamos convencidos de tener buena conciencia, ya que nuestra intención es proceder correctamente en todo.	18 Pray for us; we are sure that our own conscience is clear and we are certainly determined to behavehonourably in everything we do.
19 Además, les pido insistentemente que oren, para que yo pueda encontrarme con ustedes lo antes posible.	19 I ask you very particularly to pray that I may come back to you all the sooner.
20 Que el Dios de la paz –el mismo que resucitó de entre los muertos a nuestro Señor Jesús, el gran Pastor de las ovejas, por la sangre de una Alianza eterna–	20 I pray that the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd ofthe sheep, by the blood that sealed an eternal covenant,
21 los capacite para cumplir su voluntad, practicando toda clase de bien. Que él haga en nosotros lo que es agradable a sus ojos, por Jesucristo, a quien sea la gloria por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.	21 may prepare you to do his wil in every kind of good action; effecting in us al whatever is acceptableto himself through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
22 Les ruego, hermanos, que acepten con paciencia estas palabras de exhortación, teniendo en cuenta que les he escrito brevemente.	22 I urge you, brothers, to take these words of encouragement kindly; that is why I have written to youbriefly.
23 Sepan que nuestro hermano Timoteo ha sido puesto en libertad; si llega a tiempo, iré a verlos con él.	23 I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been set free. If he arrives in time, he will be with mewhen I see you.
24 Saluden a todos sus dirigentes y a todos los hermanos. Los hermanos de Italia les envían saludos.	24 Greetings to al your leaders and to al God's holy people. God's holy people in Italy send yougreetings.
