| 1 Jesús se puso a hablarles en parábolas: «Un hombre plantó una viña, la cercó, cavó un lugar y construyó una torre de vigilancia. Después la arrendó a unos viñadores y se fue al extranjero. | 1 And he began to speak to them in parables. "A man planted a vineyard, and set a hedge around it, and dug a pit for the wine press, and built a tower, and let it out to tenants, and went into another country. |
| 2 A su debido tiempo, envió a un servidor para percibir de los viñadores la parte de los frutos que le correspondía. | 2 When the time came, he sent a servant to the tenants, to get from them some of the fruit of the vineyard. |
| 3 Pero ellos lo tomaron, lo golpearon y lo echaron con las manos vacías. | 3 And they took him and beat him, and sent him away empty-handed. |

| 5 Envió a un tercero, y a este lo mataron. Y también golpearon o mataron a muchos otros. | 5 And he sent another, and him they killed; and so with many others, some they beat and some they killed. |
| 6 Todavía le quedaba alguien, su hijo, a quien quería mucho, y lo mandó en último término, pensando: "Respetarán a mi hijo". | 6 He had still one other, a beloved son; finally he sent him to them, saying, 'They will respect my son.' |
| 7 Pero los viñadores se dijeron: "Este es el heredero: vamos a matarlo y la herencia será nuestra". | 7 But those tenants said to one another, 'This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.' |
| 8 Y apoderándose de él, lo mataron y lo arrojaron fuera de la viña. | 8 And they took him and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard. |
| 9 ¿Qué hará el dueño de la viña? Vendrá, acabará con los viñadores y entregará la viña a otros. | 9 What will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the tenants, and give the vineyard to others. |
| 10 ¿No han leído este pasaje de la Escritura: "La piedra que los constructores rechazaron ha llegado a ser la piedra angular: | 10 Have you not read this scripture: 'The very stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner; |
| 11 esta es la obra del Señor, admirable a nuestros ojos"?». | 11 this was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes'?" |
| 12 Entonces buscaban la manera de detener a Jesús, porque comprendían que esta parábola la había dicho por ellos, pero tenían miedo de la multitud. Y dejándolo, se fueron. | 12 And they tried to arrest him, but feared the multitude, for they perceived that he had told the parable against them; so they left him and went away. |

| 14 Ellos fueron y le dijeron: «Maestro, sabemos que eres sincero y no tienes en cuenta la condición de las personas, porque no te fijas en la categoría de nadie, sino que enseñas con toda fidelidad el camino de Dios. ¿Está permitido pagar el impuesto al César o no? ¿Debemos pagarla o no?». | 14 And they came and said to him, "Teacher, we know that you are true, and care for no man; for you do not regard the position of men, but truly teach the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not? |

| 21 El segundo se casó con la viuda y también murió sin tener hijos; lo mismo ocurrió con el tercero; | 21 and the second took her, and died, leaving no children; and the third likewise; |
| 22 y así ninguno de los siete dejó descendencia. Después de todos ellos, murió la mujer. | 22 and the seven left no children. Last of all the woman also died. |
| 23 Cuando resuciten los muertos, ¿de quién será esposa, ya que los siete la tuvieron por mujer?». | 23 In the resurrection whose wife will she be? For the seven had her as wife." |
| 24 Jesús les dijo: «¿No será que ustedes están equivocados por no comprender las Escrituras ni el poder de Dios? | 24 Jesus said to them, "Is not this why you are wrong, that you know neither the scriptures nor the power of God? |
| 25 Cuando resuciten los muertos, ni los hombres ni las mujeres se casarán, sino que serán como ángeles en el cielo. | 25 For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. |
| 26 Y con respecto a la resurrección de los muertos, ¿no han leído en el Libro de Moisés, en el pasaje de la zarza, lo que Dios le dijo: Yo soy el Dios de Abraham, el Dios de Isaac y el Dios de Jacob? | 26 And as for the dead being raised, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the bush, how God said to him, 'I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? |

| 31 El segundo es: Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo. No hay otro mandamiento más grande que estos». | 31 The second is this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these." |

| 35 Jesús se puso a enseñar en el Templo y preguntaba: «¿Cómo pueden decir los escribas que el Mesías es hijo de David? | 35 And as Jesus taught in the temple, he said, "How can the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David? |
| 36 El mismo David ha dicho, movido por el Espíritu Santo: Dijo el Señor a mi Señor: Siéntate a mi derecha, hasta que ponga a tus enemigos debajo de tus pies. | 36 David himself, inspired by the Holy Spirit, declared, 'The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, till I put thy enemies under thy feet.' |

| 38 Y él les enseñaba: «Cuídense de los escribas, a quienes les gusta pasearse con largas vestiduras, ser saludados en las plazas | 38 And in his teaching he said, "Beware of the scribes, who like to go about in long robes, and to have salutations in the market places |
| 39 y ocupar los primeros asientos en las sinagogas y los banquetes; | 39 and the best seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at feasts, |
| 40 que devoran los bienes de las viudas y fingen hacer largas oraciones. Estos serán juzgados con más severidad». | 40 who devour widows' houses and for a pretense make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation." |
