| 2 Yo lo arrasaré todo de la superficie de la tierra –oráculo del Señor–. | 2 "I will utterly sweep away everything from the face of the earth," says the LORD. |
| 3 Arrasaré a los hombres y a las bestias, arrasaré a los pájaros del cielo y a los peces del mar; haré caer a los malvados y extirparé a los hombres de la superficie de la tierra –oráculo del Señor–. | 3 "I will sweep away man and beast; I will sweep away the birds of the air and the fish of the sea. I will overthrow the wicked; I will cut off mankind from the face of the earth," says the LORD. |
| 4 Extenderé mi mano contra Judá y contra todos los habitantes de Jerusalén; extirparé de este lugar todo lo que queda de Baal, el nombre de sus ministros y a los sacerdotes junto con ellos. | 4 "I will stretch out my hand against Judah, and against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off from this place the remnant of Baal and the name of the idolatrous priests; |
| 5 Exterminaré a los que se postran en las terrazas ante el Ejército de los cielos, a lo que se postran delante del Señor y juran por Milcóm, | 5 those who bow down on the roofs to the host of the heavens; those who bow down and swear to the LORD and yet swear by Milcom; |
| 6 a los que se apartan del Señor, a los que no lo buscan ni lo consultan. | 6 those who have turned back from following the LORD, who do not seek the LORD or inquire of him." |
| 7 ¡Silencio delante del Señor, porque el Día del Señor está cerca! Sí, el Señor ha preparado un sacrificio y ha consagrado a sus invitados. | 7 Be silent before the Lord GOD! For the day of the LORD is at hand; the LORD has prepared a sacrifice and consecrated his guests. |
| 8 El día del sacrificio del Señor, yo pediré cuenta a los jefes y a los hijos del rey, y a todos los que se visten a la moda extranjera. | 8 And on the day of the LORD's sacrifice--"I will punish the officials and the king's sons and all who array themselves in foreign attire. |
| 9 Aquel día pediré cuenta a todos los que saltan por encima del umbral, a los que llenan de violencia y de fraude la casa de su señor. | 9 On that day I will punish every one who leaps over the threshold, and those who fill their master's house with violence and fraud." |
| 10 Aquel día –oráculo del Señor– se oirá un clamor desde la puerta de los Peces, un alarido desde la Ciudad nueva y un gran estruendo desde las colinas. | 10 "On that day," says the LORD, "a cry will be heard from the Fish Gate, a wail from the Second Quarter, a loud crash from the hills. |
| 11 Giman, habitantes del Mortero, porque todos los mercaderes han sido aniquilados, y han sido extirpados todos los que pesan la plata. | 11 Wail, O inhabitants of the Mortar! For all the traders are no more; all who weigh out silver are cut off. |
| 12 En aquel tiempo yo escudriñaré con lámparas a Jerusalén y pediré cuenta a los hombres que se sientan sobre sus heces, los que dicen en su corazón: «El Señor no hace ni bien ni mal». | 12 At that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps, and I will punish the men who are thickening upon their lees, those who say in their hearts, 'The LORD will not do good, nor will he do ill.' |
| 13 Entonces, su riqueza será entregada al saqueo y sus casas, a la desolación; construirán casas y no las habitarán, plantarán viñas y no beberán su vino. | 13 Their goods shall be plundered, and their houses laid waste. Though they build houses, they shall not inhabit them; though they plant vineyards, they shall not drink wine from them." |
| 14 ¡Está cerca el gran Día del Señor! ¡Está cerca y llega rápidamente! ¡Qué amargo es el clamor del Día del Señor! ¡Hasta el valeroso lanza un grito estridente! | 14 The great day of the LORD is near, near and hastening fast; the sound of the day of the LORD is bitter, the mighty man cries aloud there. |

| 16 día de sonidos de trompeta y de gritos de guerra contra las ciudades fortificadas y contra las almenas elevadas! | 16 a day of trumpet blast and battle cry against the fortified cities and against the lofty battlements. |
| 17 Yo llenaré a los hombres de angustia, y ellos caminarán como ciegos, porque han pecado contra el Señor ; su sangre será derramada como polvo y sus entrañas, como estiércol: | 17 I will bring distress on men, so that they shall walk like the blind, because they have sinned against the LORD; their blood shall be poured out like dust, and their flesh like dung. |
| 18 ni su plata ni su oro podrán librarlos. En el Día de la ira del Señor y por el fuego de sus celos, será devorada toda la tierra; porque él hará un terrible exterminio de todos los habitantes de la tierra. | 18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them on the day of the wrath of the LORD. In the fire of his jealous wrath, all the earth shall be consumed; for a full, yea, sudden end he will make of all the inhabitants of the earth. |
