| 1 Un espíritu me levantó y me llevó a la puerta oriental de la Casa del Señor, la que da hacia el oriente, y vi que a la entrada de la puerta había veinticinco hombres. En medio de ellos divisé a Iazanías, hijo de Azur, y a Pelatías, hijo de Benaías, jefes del pueblo. | 1 The Spirit lifted me up, and brought me to the east gate of the house of the LORD, which faces east. And behold, at the door of the gateway there were twenty-five men; and I saw among them Ja-azaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people. |
| 2 El me dijo: Hijo de hombre, estos son los que hacen planes perversos y dan malos consejos en esta ciudad. | 2 And he said to me, "Son of man, these are the men who devise iniquity and who give wicked counsel in this city; |
| 3 Ellos dicen: «Aún no está cerca el momento de reconstruir las casas. La ciudad es la olla y nosotros somos la carne». | 3 who say, 'The time is not near to build houses; this city is the caldron, and we are the flesh.' |
| 4 Por eso, profetiza contra ellos, profetiza, hijo de hombre. | 4 Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man." |
| 5 El espíritu del Señor cayó sobre mí y me dijo: Di: Así habla el Señor: Ustedes han dicho esto, casa de Israel, y yo sé lo que están pensando. | 5 And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and he said to me, "Say, Thus says the LORD: So you think, O house of Israel; for I know the things that come into your mind. |
| 6 Ustedes han multiplicado las víctimas en esta ciudad, han llenado de cadáveres sus calles. | 6 You have multiplied your slain in this city, and have filled its streets with the slain. |
| 7 Por eso, así habla el Señor: Los cadáveres que ustedes han puesto en medio de la ciudad, esa es la carne, y la ciudad es la olla, de la que los haré salir a ustedes. | 7 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Your slain whom you have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this city is the caldron; but you shall be brought forth out of the midst of it. |
| 8 Ya que tienen miedo de la espada, ya atraeré la espada contra ustedes –oráculo del Señor–. | 8 You have feared the sword; and I will bring the sword upon you, says the Lord GOD. |
| 9 Los haré salir de en medio de la ciudad, los entregaré en manos de extranjeros y les infligiré justos castigos. | 9 And I will bring you forth out of the midst of it, and give you into the hands of foreigners, and execute judgments upon you. |
| 10 Ustedes caerán bajo la espada; los juzgaré en el territorio mismo de Israel, y así sabrán que yo soy el Señor. | 10 You shall fall by the sword; I will judge you at the border of Israel; and you shall know that I am the LORD. |
| 11 Ni esta ciudad será para ustedes una olla, ni ustedes serán la carne en medio de ella: yo los juzgaré en el territorio mismo de Israel. | 11 This city shall not be your caldron, nor shall you be the flesh in the midst of it; I will judge you at the border of Israel; |
| 12 Entonces sabrán que yo soy el Señor, cuyos preceptos ustedes no han seguido y cuyas leyes no han practicado, porque han imitado las costumbres de las naciones que están a su alrededor, | 12 and you shall know that I am the LORD; for you have not walked in my statutes, nor executed my ordinances, but have acted according to the ordinances of the nations that are round about you." |
| 13 Y mientras yo profetizaba, murió Pelatías, hijo de Benaías. Yo caí con el rostro en tierra y grité fuertemente: «¡Ah, Señor, tú estás exterminando al resto de Israel!». | 13 And it came to pass, while I was prophesying, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then I fell down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, "Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?" |
| 14 La palabra del Señor me llegó en estos términos: | 14 And the word of the LORD came to me: |
| 15 Hijo de hombre, los habitantes de Jerusalén dicen esto de tus hermanos, de tus parientes y de toda la casa de Israel: «Ellos están lejos del Señor ; a nosotros se nos ha dado esta tierra en posesión». | 15 "Son of man, your brethren, even your brethren, your fellow exiles, the whole house of Israel, all of them, are those of whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, 'They have gone far from the LORD; to us this land is given for a possession.' |
| 16 Por eso di: Así habla el Señor: Sí, yo los conduje a naciones lejanas sí, yo los dispersé entre los pueblos, pero soy momentáneamente un santuario para ellos, en los países adonde han ido. | 16 Therefore say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: Though I removed them far off among the nations, and though I scattered them among the countries, yet I have been a sanctuary to them for a while in the countries where they have gone.' |
| 17 Por eso di: Así habla el Señor: Yo los reuniré de entre los pueblos, los congregaré de entre los países donde han sido dispersados y les daré la tierra de Israel. | 17 Therefore say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: I will gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.' |
| 18 Ellos entrarán allí y exterminarán todos los ídolos y todas las abominaciones. | 18 And when they come there, they will remove from it all its detestable things and all its abominations. |
| 19 Yo les daré otro corazón y pondré dentro de ellos un espíritu nuevo: arrancaré de su cuerpo el corazón de piedra y les daré un corazón de carne, | 19 And I will give them one heart, and put a new spirit within them; I will take the stony heart out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh, |
| 20 a fin de que sigan mis preceptos y observen mis leyes, poniéndolas en práctica. Así ellos serán mi pueblo y yo seré su Dios. | 20 that they may walk in my statutes and keep my ordinances and obey them; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. |
| 21 En cuanto a aquellos cuyo corazón va detrás de sus ídolos y de sus abominaciones, yo haré recaer sobre sus cabezas su mala conducta –oráculo del Señor–. | 21 But as for those whose heart goes after their detestable things and their abominations, I will requite their deeds upon their own heads, says the Lord GOD." |
| 22 Entonces los querubines desplegaron sus alas, y las ruedas se movieron junto con ellos. La gloria del Dios de Israel estaba sobre ellos, en lo alto. | 22 Then the cherubim lifted up their wings, with the wheels beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them. |
| 23 La gloria del Señor se elevó de en medio de la ciudad y se detuvo sobre la montaña que está al oriente de la ciudad. | 23 And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city. |
| 24 El espíritu me elevó y me llevó a Caldea, donde estaban los deportados. Esto sucedió en mi visión, por obra del Espíritu de Dios. Luego se alejó de mí la visión que yo había contemplado, | 24 And the Spirit lifted me up and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to the exiles. Then the vision that I had seen went up from me. |
| 25 y conté a los deportados todas las cosas que el Señor me había hecho ver. | 25 And I told the exiles all the things that the LORD had showed me. |
