| 1 El Señor dijo a Moisés: | 1 And the LORD said to Moses, |
| 2 Habla en estos términos a los israelitas: Cuando una persona cometa inadvertidamente un pecado contra cualquiera de los mandamientos del Señor, haciendo lo que no está permitido: | 2 "Say to the people of Israel, If any one sins unwittingly in any of the things which the LORD has commanded not to be done, and does any one of them, |
| 3 Si el que peca es el sacerdote consagrado por la unción –de manera que la culpa recae también sobre el pueblo– él ofrecerá al Señor, por el pecado que ha cometido, un novillo sin defecto, en calidad de sacrificio por el pecado. | 3 if it is the anointed priest who sins, thus bringing guilt on the people, then let him offer for the sin which he has committed a young bull without blemish to the LORD for a sin offering. |
| 4 Llevará el novillo a la entrada de la Carpa del Encuentro, impondrá su mano sobre la cabeza del mismo, y lo inmolará delante del Señor. | 4 He shall bring the bull to the door of the tent of meeting before the LORD, and lay his hand on the head of the bull, and kill the bull before the LORD. |
| 5 Entonces el sacerdote consagrado por la unción tomará la sangre del novillo y la llevará a la Carpa del Encuentro. | 5 And the anointed priest shall take some of the blood of the bull and bring it to the tent of meeting; |
| 6 Luego mojará su dedo en la sangre y con ella hará siete aspersiones delante del Señor, frente al velo del Santuario. | 6 and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle part of the blood seven times before the LORD in front of the veil of the sanctuary. |
| 7 Después pondrá un poco de esa sangre sobre los cuernos del altar del incienso, que está delante del Señor, en la Carpa del Encuentro, y derramará toda la sangre sobre la base del altar de los holocaustos, que se encuentra a la entrada de la Carpa. | 7 And the priest shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense before the LORD which is in the tent of meeting, and the rest of the blood of the bull he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering which is at the door of the tent of meeting. |
| 8 Además extraerá toda la grasa del novillo ofrecido en sacrificio por el pecado: la grasa que recubre las entrañas y la que está adherida a ellas; | 8 And all the fat of the bull of the sin offering he shall take from it, the fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails, |
| 9 los dos riñones y la grasa que está sobre ellos –o sea, en los lomos– y la protuberancia del hígado, que deberá extraer junto con los riñones. | 9 and the two kidneys with the fat that is on them at the loins, and the appendage of the liver which he shall take away with the kidneys |
| 10 En una palabra, extraerá lo mismo que se saca del toro en los sacrificios de comunión. Finalmente, el sacerdote hará arder todo esto sobre el altar de los holocaustos. | 10 (just as these are taken from the ox of the sacrifice of the peace offerings), and the priest shall burn them upon the altar of burnt offering. |
| 11 Pero el cuerdo del novillo y toda su carne, lo mismo que su cabeza y sus patas, sus entrañas y excrementos | 11 But the skin of the bull and all its flesh, with its head, its legs, its entrails, and its dung, |
| 12 –es decir, todo el resto del novillo– los llevará a un lugar puro situado fuera del campamento, al sitio donde se echan las cenizas, y allí los quemará con leña. | 12 the whole bull he shall carry forth outside the camp to a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and shall burn it on a fire of wood; where the ashes are poured out it shall be burned. |
| 13 Si la que obra inadvertidamente es toda la comunidad de Israel –que sin darse cuenta se hace culpable, cometiendo una falta contra alguna de las prohibiciones contenidas en los mandamientos de Señor– | 13 "If the whole congregation of Israel commits a sin unwittingly and the thing is hidden from the eyes of the assembly, and they do any one of the things which the LORD has commanded not to be done and are guilty; |
| 14 apenas se conozca el pecado cometido, la asamblea ofrecerá un novillo sin defecto en calidad de sacrificio por el pecado. Lo llevarán ante la Carpa del Encuentro, | 14 when the sin which they have committed becomes known, the assembly shall offer a young bull for a sin offering and bring it before the tent of meeting; |
| 15 y los ancianos de la comunidad impondrán sus manos sobre la cabeza del novillo, delante del Señor. El novillo será inmolado en la presencia del Señor, | 15 and the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands upon the head of the bull before the LORD, and the bull shall be killed before the LORD. |
| 16 y el sacerdote consagrado por la unción llevará la sangre a la Carpa del Encuentro. | 16 Then the anointed priest shall bring some of the blood of the bull to the tent of meeting, |
| 17 Luego mojará su dedo en la sangre y con ella hará siete aspersiones delante del Señor, frente al velo del Santuario. | 17 and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle it seven times before the LORD in front of the veil. |
| 18 Después pondrá un poco de esa sangre sobre los cuernos del altar que está delante del Señor, en la Carpa del Encuentro, y derramará toda la sangre sobre la base del altar de los holocaustos, que está a la entrada de la Carpa. | 18 And he shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar which is in the tent of meeting before the LORD; and the rest of the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering which is at the door of the tent of meeting. |
| 19 Luego extraerá toda la grasa del novillo y la hará arder sobre el altar, | 19 And all its fat he shall take from it and burn upon the altar. |
| 20 haciendo con él lo mismo que hizo con el novillo del sacrificio por el pecado. De esta manera, el sacerdote practicará el rito de expiación en favor de la comunidad, y esta será perdonada. | 20 Thus shall he do with the bull; as he did with the bull of the sin offering, so shall he do with this; and the priest shall make atonement for them, and they shall be forgiven. |
| 21 Finalmente, llevará el novillo fuera del campamento y lo quemará como en el caso anterior: es un sacrificio por el pecado de la asamblea. | 21 And he shall carry forth the bull outside the camp, and burn it as he burned the first bull; it is the sin offering for the assembly. |
| 22 Si es un jefe de la comunidad el que peca y se hace culpable, cometiendo inadvertidamente una falta contra alguna de las prohibiciones contenidas en los mandamientos del Señor, su Dios, | 22 "When a ruler sins, doing unwittingly any one of all the things which the LORD his God has commanded not to be done, and is guilty, |
| 23 una vez que se le haga conocer el pecado que ha cometido, presentará como ofrenda un chivo sin ningún defecto. | 23 if the sin which he has committed is made known to him, he shall bring as his offering a goat, a male without blemish, |
| 24 Impondrá su mano sobre la cabeza del animal y lo inmolará en el lugar donde se inmolan las víctimas para el holocausto, delante del Señor: es un sacrificio por el pecado. | 24 and shall lay his hand upon the head of the goat, and kill it in the place where they kill the burnt offering before the LORD; it is a sin offering. |
| 25 Luego el sacerdote mojará su dedo en la sangre de la víctima, la pondrá sobre los cuernos del altar de los holocaustos y derramará toda la sangre sobre la base del altar de los holocaustos. | 25 Then the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour out the rest of its blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering. |
| 26 Finalmente, hará arder toda su grasa, como la grasa del sacrificio de comunión. De esta manera, el sacerdote practicará el rito de expiación en favor del culpable, y éste será perdonado. | 26 And all its fat he shall burn on the altar, like the fat of the sacrifice of peace offerings; so the priest shall make atonement for him for his sin, and he shall be forgiven. |
| 27 Si es una persona del pueblo la que peca inadvertidamente y se ha hecho culpable, cometiendo una falta contra alguna de las prohibiciones contenidas en los mandamientos del Señor, | 27 "If any one of the common people sins unwittingly in doing any one of the things which the LORD has commanded not to be done, and is guilty, |
| 28 una vez que se le haga conocer el pecado que ha cometido, presentará como ofrenda por la falta cometida, una cabra hembra y sin defecto. | 28 when the sin which he has committed is made known to him he shall bring for his offering a goat, a female without blemish, for his sin which he has committed. |
| 29 Impondrá su mano sobre la cabeza de la víctima y la inmolará en el lugar del holocausto. | 29 And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering, and kill the sin offering in the place of burnt offering. |
| 30 Después el sacerdote mojará su dedo en la sangre, la pondrá sobre los cuernos del altar de los holocaustos y derramará el resto de la sangre sobre la base del altar. | 30 And the priest shall take some of its blood with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour out the rest of its blood at the base of the altar. |
| 31 Luego quitará toda la grasa de la víctima, como se hace en los sacrificios de comunión, y la hará arder sobre el altar, como aroma agradable al Señor. De esta manera, el sacerdote practicará el rito de expiación en favor de esa persona, y así será perdonada. | 31 And all its fat he shall remove, as the fat is removed from the peace offerings, and the priest shall burn it upon the altar for a pleasing odor to the LORD; and the priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be forgiven. |
| 32 Si lo que trae como ofrenda por el pecado es un cordero, deberá ser hembra y sin defecto. | 32 "If he brings a lamb as his offering for a sin offering, he shall bring a female without blemish, |
| 33 Impondrá su mano sobre la cabeza de la víctima y la inmolará en el lugar donde se inmolan los holocaustos. | 33 and lay his hand upon the head of the sin offering, and kill it for a sin offering in the place where they kill the burnt offering. |
| 34 Luego el sacerdote mojará su dedo en la sangre de la víctima, la pondrá sobre los cuernos del altar de los holocaustos, y derramará toda la sangre sobre la base del altar. | 34 Then the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour out the rest of its blood at the base of the altar. |
| 35 Después quitará toda la grasa del animal, como se quita la grasa del cordero en los sacrificios de comunión, y la hará arder sobre el altar, junto con las ofrendas que se queman para el Señor. De esta manera, el sacerdote practicará el rito de expiación en favor de esa persona, por el pecado que cometió, y así será perdonada. | 35 And all its fat he shall remove as the fat of the lamb is removed from the sacrifice of peace offerings, and the priest shall burn it on the altar, upon the offerings by fire to the LORD; and the priest shall make atonement for him for the sin which he has committed, and he shall be forgiven. |
