| 1 Alors j’ai entendu dans le temple une voix forte qui appelait les sept anges: "Allez, versez sur la terre les sept coupes de la fureur de Dieu.” | 1 Then I heard a loud voice from the temple telling the seven angels, "Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God." |
| 2 Le premier sort et verse sa coupe sur la terre: de gros ulcères forts pénibles apparaissent sur tous ceux qui portent la marque de la bête et adorent son image. | 2 So the first angel went and poured his bowl on the earth, and foul and evil sores came upon the men who bore the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. |
| 3 Le deuxième verse sa coupe sur la mer: voilà du sang comme après un meurtre, et tout ce qui vit dans la mer en meurt. | 3 The second angel poured his bowl into the sea, and it became like the blood of a dead man, and every living thing died that was in the sea. |
| 4 Quand le troisième verse sa coupe sur les rivières et les sources d’eau douce, c’est du sang partout. | 4 The third angel poured his bowl into the rivers and the fountains of water, and they became blood. |
| 5 J’ai entendu cet ange des eaux potables qui disait: "Tu as pris une juste décision, toi qui Es et qui Étais, et tu es parfait en tout: | 5 And I heard the angel of water say, "Just art thou in these thy judgments, thou who art and wast, O Holy One. |
| 6 ils ont versé le sang des saints et des prophètes et tu leur donnes à boire le sang. Ils l’ont bien mérité.” | 6 For men have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink. It is their due!" |
| 7 Alors l’autel de l’encens a parlé, je l’ai entendu: "Oui, Seigneur Dieu, Maître de l’univers, tes décisions sont justes et vraies.” | 7 And I heard the altar cry, "Yea, Lord God the Almighty, true and just are thy judgments!" |
| 8 Quand le quatrième ange a versé sa coupe sur le soleil, il a commencé à brûler les humains. | 8 The fourth angel poured his bowl on the sun, and it was allowed to scorch men with fire; |
| 9 Les humains avaient de terribles coups de soleil et ils insultaient le nom de Dieu qui a pouvoir sur de tels fléaux, mais ils ne se sont par repentis et ils n’ont pas reconnu leurs fautes. | 9 men were scorched by the fierce heat, and they cursed the name of God who had power over these plagues, and they did not repent and give him glory. |
| 10 Quand le cinquième ange a versé sa coupe sur le trône de la bête, la nuit est venue sur tout son royaume. Les gens se mordaient la langue de douleur, | 10 The fifth angel poured his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was in darkness; men gnawed their tongues in anguish |
| 11 et ils insultaient le Dieu du ciel à cause de leurs douleurs et de leurs ulcères. Ils ne se sont pas repentis de leurs œuvres. | 11 and cursed the God of heaven for their pain and sores, and did not repent of their deeds. |
| 12 Quand le sixième ange a versé sa coupe sur le Grand Fleuve de l’Euphrate, les eaux ont tari, ouvrant ainsi un chemin aux rois qui viennent de l’orient. | 12 The sixth angel poured his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, to prepare the way for the kings from the east. |
| 13 Alors j’ai vu trois esprits impurs qui sortaient de la bouche du dragon, de la bouche de la bête et de celle du faux prophète: on aurait dit des grenouilles. | 13 And I saw, issuing from the mouth of the dragon and from the mouth of the beast and from the mouth of the false prophet, three foul spirits like frogs; |
| 14 Ces esprits démoniaques font des miracles, et ils vont ameuter les rois du monde entier pour le combat du grand jour de Dieu, Maître de l’univers. | 14 for they are demonic spirits, performing signs, who go abroad to the kings of the whole world, to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty. |
| 15 J’arrive comme un voleur. Heureux celui qui veille et qui reste habillé, il ne risquera pas de se lever tout nu et qu’on voie ce qu’on ne doit pas voir. | 15 ("Lo, I am coming like a thief! Blessed is he who is awake, keeping his garments that he may not go naked and be seen exposed!") |
| 16 Il a réuni les rois au lieu qu’on appelle en hébreu Har-Maguédon (ou montagne de Méguiddo). | 16 And they assembled them at the place which is called in Hebrew Armageddon. |
| 17 Alors le septième ange a déversé sa coupe dans l’atmosphère pendant qu’une voix puissante sortait du temple. Elle venait du trône et disait: "C’est fait.” | 17 The seventh angel poured his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple, from the throne, saying, "It is done!" |
| 18 Il y a eu des éclairs, du vacarme et du tonnerre, et un grand tremblement de terre. On n’avait jamais vu un tel séisme depuis que la terre est habitée. | 18 And there were flashes of lightning, voices, peals of thunder, and a great earthquake such as had never been since men were on the earth, so great was that earthquake. |
| 19 La Grande Ville s’est divisée en trois parties et les cités des païens se sont écroulées. Devant Dieu on venait de se souvenir de Babylone la Grande et on allait l’enivrer de la fureur et de la colère de Dieu. | 19 The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell, and God remembered great Babylon, to make her drain the cup of the fury of his wrath. |
| 20 Toutes les îles ont pris la fuite et les montagnes ont décampé. | 20 And every island fled away, and no mountains were to be found; |
| 21 Une grosse grêle avec des grêlons de plusieurs kilos s’est abattue sur les humains, et les humains ont insulté Dieu pour ce fléau de la grêle, car c’est un terrible fléau. | 21 and great hailstones, heavy as a hundred-weight, dropped on men from heaven, till men cursed God for the plague of the hail, so fearful was that plague. |
