1 (LA VOCE DELLA CHIESA ELETTA DELLE GENTI) Nello letticciuolo mio per le notti cercai colui che la mia anima ama; cercai per lui, e non lo trovai.	1 In my bed by night I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, and found him not.
2 Leverommi, e attornierò la cittade; per li borghi e per le piazze cercheroe colui che ama l'anima mia; cercai per lui, e non lo trovai.	2 I will rise, and will go about the city: in the streets and the broad ways I will seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, and I found him not.
3 Le guardie che custodiscono la città mi trovorono.(PARLA LA CHIESA DI CRISTO)Io dissi loro: or vedeste voi colui che ama l'anima mia?	3 The watchmen who keep the city, found me: Have you seen him, whom my soul loveth?
4 E conciò fusse cosa che io un poco li avessi trapassati, trovai colui il quale l'anima mia ama; io il presi, e non lo lasciai, infino che io il menai nella casa della madre mia, e nella camera di colei che mi generò.(LA VOCE DI CRISTO)	4 When I had a little passed by them, I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him: and I will not let him go, till I bring him into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her that bore me.
5 Io vi scongiuro, figliuole di Ierusalem, per le capriole e per li cervi delli campi, che voi non sdormentiate nè risvegliate la diletta mia, insino ch' ella vuole dormire.(PARLA LA SINAGOGA DELLA CHIESA)	5 I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes and the harts of the fields, that you stir not up, nor awake my beloved, till she please.
6 Chi è costei che sale per lo deserto, sì come virgula di fumo delli odori della mirra, e dello incenso, e di ciascuna polvere di confezioni?(LA VOCE DELLA CHIESA)	6 Who is she that goeth up by the desert, as a pillar of smoke of aromatical spices, of myrrh, and frankincense, and of all the powders of the perfumer?
7 Ecco il letticciuolo di Salamone, che LX forti uomini lo cerchiano, de' più forti d' Israel.	7 Behold threescore valiant ones of the most valiant of Israel, surrounded the bed of Solomon?
8 Li quali tutti tengono le spade, e sono dottissimi a guerre; la spada di ciascuno sta sopra il fianco suo, per le paure della notte.(PARLASI DI CRISTO)	8 All holding swords, and most expert in war : every man's sword upon his thigh, because of fears in the night.
9 Mensa si fece Salomone del legno di Libano.	9 King Solomon hath made him a litter of the wood of Libanus:
10 E le colonne fece d'ariento, e il richinatoio d'oro; e lo ascenso ad essa fece di porpora; e nel mezzo ornolla di carità per le figliuole di Ierusalem.(PARLA LA CHIESA DI CRISTO)	10 The pillars thereof he made of silver, the seat of gold, the going up of purple : the midst he covered with charity for the daughters of Jerusalem.
11 Uscite fuori, figliuole di Sion, e vedete il re Salomone nella corona, che il coronoe la madre sua nel dì del suo sposamento, nel die della letizia del cuore suo.	11 Go forth, ye daughters of Sion, and see king Solomon in the diadem, wherewith his mother crowned him in the day of his espousals, and in the day of the joy of his heart.
