But at daybreak on the first day of the week they took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.
Acharam a pedra removida longe da abertura do sepulcro.2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb;
Entraram, mas não encontraram o corpo do Senhor Jesus.3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
While they were puzzling over this, behold, two men in dazzling garments appeared to them.
They were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground. They said to them, "Why do you seek the living one among the dead?
He is not here, but he has been raised. Remember what he said to you while he was still in Galilee,
O Filho do Homem deve ser entregue nas mãos dos pecadores e crucificado, mas ressuscitará ao terceiro dia.7 that the Son of Man must be handed over to sinners and be crucified, and rise on the third day."
Então elas se lembraram das palavras de Jesus.8 And they remembered his words.
Then they returned from the tomb and announced all these things to the eleven and to all the others.
The women were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James; the others who accompanied them also told this to the apostles,
Mas essas notícias pareciam-lhes como um delírio, e não lhes deram crédito.11 but their story seemed like nonsense and they did not believe them.
Depois, retirou-se para a sua casa, admirado do que acontecera.12 But Peter got up and ran to the tomb, bent down, and saw the burial cloths alone; then he went home amazed at what had happened.
Now that very day two of them were going to a village seven miles from Jerusalem called Emmaus,
Iam falando um com o outro de tudo o que se tinha passado.14 and they were conversing about all the things that had occurred.
And it happened that while they were conversing and debating, Jesus himself drew near and walked with them,
Mas os olhos estavam-lhes como que vendados e não o reconheceram.16 but their eyes were prevented from recognizing him.
He asked them, "What are you discussing as you walk along?" They stopped, looking downcast.
Um deles, chamado Cléofas, respondeu-lhe: És tu acaso o único forasteiro em Jerusalém que não sabe o que nela aconteceu estes dias?18 One of them, named Cleopas, said to him in reply, "Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who does not know of the things that have taken place there in these days?"
Perguntou-lhes ele: Que foi? Disseram: A respeito de Jesus de Nazaré... Era um profeta poderoso em obras e palavras, diante de Deus e de todo o povo.19 And he replied to them, "What sort of things?" They said to him, "The things that happened to Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people,
Os nossos sumos sacerdotes e os nossos magistrados o entregaram para ser condenado à morte e o crucificaram.20 how our chief priests and rulers both handed him over to a sentence of death and crucified him.
But we were hoping that he would be the one to redeem Israel; and besides all this, it is now the third day since this took place.
Elas foram ao sepulcro, antes do nascer do sol;22 Some women from our group, however, have astounded us: they were at the tomb early in the morning
e não tendo achado o seu corpo, voltaram, dizendo que tiveram uma visão de anjos, os quais asseguravam que está vivo.23 and did not find his body; they came back and reported that they had indeed seen a vision of angels who announced that he was alive.
Then some of those with us went to the tomb and found things just as the women had described, but him they did not see."
Jesus lhes disse: Ó gente sem inteligência! Como sois tardos de coração para crerdes em tudo o que anunciaram os profetas!25 And he said to them, "Oh, how foolish you are! How slow of heart to believe all that the prophets spoke!
Porventura não era necessário que Cristo sofresse essas coisas e assim entrasse na sua glória?26 Was it not necessary that the Messiah should suffer these things and enter into his glory?"
Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them what referred to him in all the scriptures.
Aproximaram-se da aldeia para onde iam e ele fez como se quisesse passar adiante.28 As they approached the village to which they were going, he gave the impression that he was going on farther.
Entrou então com eles.29 But they urged him, "Stay with us, for it is nearly evening and the day is almost over." So he went in to stay with them.
Aconteceu que, estando sentado conjuntamente à mesa, ele tomou o pão, abençoou-o, partiu-o e serviu-lho.30 And it happened that, while he was with them at table, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them.
Então se lhes abriram os olhos e o reconheceram... mas ele desapareceu.31 With that their eyes were opened and they recognized him, but he vanished from their sight.
Then they said to each other, "Were not our hearts burning (within us) while he spoke to us on the way and opened the scriptures to us?"
So they set out at once and returned to Jerusalem where they found gathered together the eleven and those with them
Todos diziam: O Senhor ressuscitou verdadeiramente e apareceu a Simão.34 who were saying, "The Lord has truly been raised and has appeared to Simon!"
Then the two recounted what had taken place on the way and how he was made known to them in the breaking of the bread.
Enquanto ainda falavam dessas coisas, Jesus apresentou-se no meio deles e disse-lhes: A paz esteja convosco!36 While they were still speaking about this, he stood in their midst and said to them, "Peace be with you."
Perturbados e espantados, pensaram estar vendo um espírito.37 But they were startled and terrified and thought that they were seeing a ghost.
Then he said to them, "Why are you troubled? And why do questions arise in your hearts?
Vede minhas mãos e meus pés, sou eu mesmo; apalpai e vede: um espírito não tem carne nem ossos, como vedes que tenho.39 Look at my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you can see I have."
E, dizendo isso, mostrou-lhes as mãos e os pés.40 And as he said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.
Mas, vacilando eles ainda e estando transportados de alegria, perguntou: Tendes aqui alguma coisa para comer?41 While they were still incredulous for joy and were amazed, he asked them, "Have you anything here to eat?"
Então ofereceram-lhe um pedaço de peixe assado.42 They gave him a piece of baked fish;
Ele tomou e comeu à vista deles.43 he took it and ate it in front of them.
He said to them, "These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the law of Moses and in the prophets and psalms must be fulfilled."
Abriu-lhes então o espírito, para que compreendessem as Escrituras, dizendo:45 Then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures.
And he said to them, "Thus it is written that the Messiah would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day
E que em seu nome se pregasse a penitência e a remissão dos pecados a todas as nações, começando por Jerusalém.47 and that repentance, for the forgiveness of sins, would be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
Vós sois as testemunhas de tudo isso.48 You are witnesses of these things.
Eu vos mandarei o Prometido de meu Pai; entretanto, permanecei na cidade, até que sejais revestidos da força do alto.49 And (behold) I am sending the promise of my Father upon you; but stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high."
Depois os levou para Betânia e, levantando as mãos, os abençoou.50 Then he led them (out) as far as Bethany, raised his hands, and blessed them.
Enquanto os abençoava, separou-se deles e foi arrebatado ao céu.51 As he blessed them he parted from them and was taken up to heaven.
Depois de o terem adorado, voltaram para Jerusalém com grande júbilo.52 They did him homage and then returned to Jerusalem with great joy,
E permaneciam no templo, louvando e bendizendo a Deus.53 and they were continually in the temple praising God.
