LA SACRA BIBBIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Mi condusse poi nel santo e misurò i pilastri: sei cubiti di larghezza da una parte e sei dall'altra; tale lo spessore dei pilastri.	1 He took me to the Hekal and measured its piers: six cubits wide on the one side, six cubits wide on theother.
2 La porta d'ingresso era larga dieci cubiti e i lati di essa cinque cubiti da una parte e cinque cubiti dall'altra. Misurò quindi la lunghezza del santo: quaranta cubiti; la sua larghezza: venti cubiti.	2 The width of the entrance was ten cubits, and the returns of the entrance were five cubits on the oneside and five cubits on the other. He measured its length: forty cubits; and its width: twenty cubits.
3 Poi egli, entrato dentro, misurò il pilastro della porta: due cubiti. La porta era di sei cubiti e i lati della porta di sette cubiti.	3 He then went inside and measured the pier at the entrance: two cubits; then the entrance; six cubits;and the returns of the entrance: seven cubits.
4 Misurò la lunghezza: venti cubiti; la larghezza: venti cubiti, dirimpetto al santo. Poi mi disse: "Questo è il santo dei santi".	4 He measured its length; twenty cubits; and its width against the Hekal: twenty cubits. He then said tome, 'This is the Holy of Holies.'
5 Misurò le pareti del santuario: sei cubiti; lo spessore delle celle laterali, tutt'attorno al santuario: quattro cubiti.	5 He then measured the wal of the Temple: six cubits. The width of the lateral structure was four cubits,al round the Temple.
6 Le celle laterali erano una sull'altra, a tre piani, con trenta celle per piano. Sul muro del santuario, vi erano rientranze come loro appoggi, senza però che gli appoggi fossero nel muro stesso del santuario.	6 The cel s were one above the other in three tiers of thirty cells each. The cells were recessed into thewal , the wal of the structure comprising the cel s, all round, forming offsets; but there were no offsets in the walof the Temple itself.
7 L'ampiezza delle celle aumentava salendo da un piano all'altro, perché la sporgenza sul muro del tempio andava restringendosi, lasciando alle celle un'ampiezza maggiore. Si saliva al piano superiore dal basso, passando attraverso quello medio.	7 The width of the cel s increased, storey by storey, corresponding to the amount taken in from the wallfrom one storey to the next, all round the Temple.
8 Il basamento a ridosso del santuario era un rialzo tutt'intorno, come fondamento per le celle, alto una canna, cioè sei cubiti.	8 Then I saw that there was a paved terrace all round the Temple. The height of this, which formed thebase of the side cells, was one complete rod of six cubits.

The width of the passage was five cubits right round.
12 L'edificio dirimpetto allo spiazzo riservato, nel lato occidentale, era profondo settanta cubiti, più il muro dell'edificio, spesso cinque cubiti su tutti i lati; ed era lungo novanta cubiti.	12 The building on the west side of the court was seventy cubits wide, the wal of the building was fivecubits thick al round and its length was ninety cubits.
13 Egli misurò il santuario: lunghezza cento cubiti. Anche lo spiazzo riservato più l'edificio e le sue mura erano lunghi cento cubiti.	13 He measured the length of the Temple: a hundred cubits.

18 Vi erano raffigurati cherubini e palme: una palma e un cherubino alternati; i cherubini avevano due facce:	18 were carved great winged creatures and palm trees, one palm tree between two winged creatures;each winged creature had two faces:
19 la faccia d'uomo verso una palma e la faccia di leone verso l'altra palma. Erano raffigurati su tutto il santuario all'intorno.	19 a human face turned towards the palm tree on one side and the face of a lion towards the palm treeon the other side, throughout the Temple, al round.
20 Da terra fino all'altezza dell'ingresso erano raffigurati cherubini e palme.	20 Winged creatures and palm trees were carved on the wal from the floor to above the entrance.
21 La parete del santo aveva lo stipite della porta a forma quadrata. Davanti al santo dei santi vi era qualcosa come	21 The doorposts of the Temple were square. In front of the sanctuary there was something like
22 un altare di legno alto tre cubiti, lungo due e largo due; aveva gli angoli, la base e le pareti di legno. Its corners, base and sides were of wood.He said to me, 'This is the table in the presence of Yahweh.'
