Proverbi 9

LA SACRA BIBBIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 La sapienza ha costruito la sua casa, ha drizzato le sue sette colonne.	1 Wisdom has built herself a house, she has hewn her seven pil ars,
2 Ha ucciso i suoi animali, ha attinto il suo vino, ha imbandito la sua tavola.	2 she has slaughtered her beasts, drawn her wine, she has laid her table.
3 Ha inviato le sue ancelle a gridare sulle alture del villaggio:	3 She has despatched her maidservants and proclaimed from the heights above the city,
4 "Chi è ingenuo, corra!". Al povero di spirito ella dice:	4 'Who is simple? Let him come this way.' To the fool she says,
5 "Venite, mangiate il mio pane, bevete il vino che ho preparato.	5 'Come and eat my bread, drink the wine which I have drawn!
6 Abbandonate l'ingenuità e vivrete, camminate nella mia intelligenza!".	6 Leave foolishness behind and you wil live, go forwards in the ways of perception.'
7 Chi corregge il beffeggiatore ne riceve disprezzo, chi rimprovera l'empio, l'oltraggio.	7 Reprove a mocker and you attract contempt, rebuke the wicked and you attract dishonour.
8 Non rimproverare il beffardo, altrimenti ti odia! Tu rimproveri il saggio ed egli ti ama.	8 Do not rebuke the mocker, he wil hate you. Rebuke the wise and he wil love you for it.
9 Da' al saggio e diventerà ancora più saggio, istruisci il giusto e farà altro acquisto.	9 Be open with the wise, he grows wiser stil , teach the upright, he wil gain yet more.
10 L'inizio della sapienza è il timore del Signore, la scienza del Santo è intelligenza.	10 The first principle of wisdom is the fear of Yahweh, What God's holy ones know -- this isunderstanding.
11 Sì! Per merito mio si moltiplicheranno i tuoi giorni, aumenteranno gli anni della vita.	11 For by me your days wil be multiplied, and your years of life increased.
12 Se sei saggio, lo sei per bene tuo, se sei stolto, tu solo la sconti.	12 Are you wise? You are wise to your own good. A mocker? The burden is yours alone.
13 Donna stoltezza è tutta irrequieta, è sempliciotta e senza cervello.	13 A silly woman acts on impulse, is foolish and knows nothing.
14 Siede alla porta della sua casa, sopra un trono, sulle alture del villaggio,	14 She sits at the door of her house, on a throne high up in the city,
15 per chiamare chi passa per la via, chi va diritto per la sua strada:	15 cal ing to the passers-by, who are walking straight past on their way,
16 "Chi è ingenuo, corra qua!". E al povero di spirito ella dice:	16 'Who is simple? Turn aside, come over here.' To the fool she says,
17 "Le acque furtive sono dolci, il pane segreto è delizioso!".	17 'Stolen waters are sweet, and bread tastes better when eaten in secret.'
18 E lui non sa che là ci sono le ombre, che agli antri degli inferi scendono i suoi invitati.	18 But the fool does not know that this is where the Shades are and that her guests are already in thevales of Sheol.
