1 Quando le mura furono completate e io ebbi restaurate le porte, i portinai, i cantori e i leviti furono stabiliti nei loro uffici.	1 When the wall had been rebuilt, I had the doors set up, and the gatekeepers (and the singers and the Levites) were put in charge of them.
2 Posi al comando di Gerusalemme mio fratello Canàni e Anania al governo della cittadella, perché egli era un uomo fedele e timorato di Dio più di molti altri.	2 Over Jerusalem I placed Hanani, my brother, and Hananiah, the commander of the citadel, who was a more trustworthy and God-fearing man than most.

Appoint as watchmen the inhabitants of Jerusalem, some at their watch posts, and others before their own houses."

In esso trovai scritto:	5 When my God had put it into my mind to gather together the nobles, the magistrates, and the common people, and to examine their family records, I came upon the family list of those who had returned in the earliest period. There I found the following written:
6 "Questi sono gli abitanti della provincia che tornarono dall'esilio, coloro che Nabucodònosor, re di Babilonia, aveva esiliati e che erano tornati a Gerusalemme e in Giuda, ciascuno alla sua città.	6 These are the inhabitants of the province who returned from the captivity of the exiles whom Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, had carried away, and who came back to Jerusalem and Judah, each man to his own city
