1 And the people of Israel again did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, after Ehud died.	1 Os filhos de Israel tornaram a fazer o mal na presença do Senhor, depois da morte de Aod,
2 And the LORD sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor; the commander of his army was Sisera, who dwelt in Harosheth-ha-goiim.	2 e o Senhor entregou-os nas mãos de Jabin, rei de Canaan, que reinou em Asor; este teve por general do seu exército um chamado Sisara, o qual habitava em Haroset das gentes.
3 Then the people of Israel cried to the LORD for help; for he had nine hundred chariots of iron, and oppressed the people of Israel cruelly for twenty years.	3 Os filhos de Israel clamaram ao Senhor, porque Jabin tinha novecentos carros de ferro, e tinha-os oprimido com violência durante vinte anos.
4 Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel at that time.	4 Naquele tempo vivia Débora profetisa, mulher de Lapidot, a qual julgava o povo.
5 She used to sit under the palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim; and the people of Israel came up to her for judgment.	5 Sentava-se debaixo duma palmeira, que se chamava do seu nome, entre Rama e Betel, sobre o monte de Efraim, e os filhos de Israel iam ter com ela em todos os seus litígios.
6 She sent and summoned Barak the son of Abino-am from Kedesh in Naphtali, and said to him, "The LORD, the God of Israel, commands you, 'Go, gather your men at Mount Tabor, taking ten thousand from the tribe of Naphtali and the tribe of Zebulun.	6 Ela mandou chamar Barac, filho de Abinoem, (natural) de Cedes de Neftali, e disse-Ihe: O Senhor Deus de Israel ordena-te que vás e conduzas o exército ao monte Tabor, levando contigo dez mil combatentes dos filhos de Neftali e dos filhos de Zabulon.
7 And I will draw out Sisera, the general of Jabin's army, to meet you by the river Kishon with his chariots and his troops; and I will give him into your hand.'"	7 Estando tu no lugar da torrente de Cison, eu farei que venham à tua presença Sisara, general do exército de Jabin, os seus carros e toda a sua gente, e tos entregarei nas mãos.
8 Barak said to her, "If you will go with me, I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go."	8 Barac disse-lhe: Se vieres comigo, irei; se não quiseres vir comigo, não irei.
9 And she said, "I will surely go with you; nevertheless, the road on which you are going will not lead to your glory, for the LORD will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman." Then Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.	9 Ela respondeu-lhe: Está bem, eu irei contigo, mas desta vez não te será atribuída a vitória, porque Sisara será entregue nas mãos duma mulher. Levantou-se, pois, Débora e partiu com Barac para Cedes.
10 And Barak summoned Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and ten thousand men went up at his heels; and Deborah went up with him.	10 Ele, chamando os de Zabulon e Neftali, marchou com dez mil combatentes, tendo Débora em sua companhia.
11 Now Heber the Kenite had separated from the Kenites, the descendants of Hobab the father-in-law of Moses, and had pitched his tent as far away as the oak in Za-anannim, which is near Kedesh.	11 Ora Haber Cineu havia muito tempo que se tinha separado dos outros Cineus seus irmãos, filhos de Hobab, parente de Moisés, e tinha estendido as suas tendas até ao vale chamado Senim, e estava junto de Cedes.
12 When Sisera was told that Barak the son of Abino-am had gone up to Mount Tabor,	12 Foi anunciado a Sisara que Barac, filho de Abinoem, tinha avançado até ao monte Tabor.
13 Sisera called out all his chariots, nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the men who were with him, from Harosheth-ha-goiim to the river Kishon.	13 Sisara juntou novecentos carros de ferro, e fez marchar todo o exército desde Haroset das gentes até à torrente de Cison.
14 And Deborah said to Barak, "Up! For this is the day in which the LORD has given Sisera into your hand. Does not the LORD go out before you?" So Barak went down from Mount Tabor with ten thousand men following him.	14 Débora disse a Barac: Levanta-te, porque este é o dia em que o Senhor entregou Sisara nas tuas mãos; eis que ele mesmo é o teu guia. Desceu pois Barac do monte Tabor, com os dez mil combatentes.
15 And the LORD routed Sisera and all his chariots and all his army before Barak at the edge of the sword; and Sisera alighted from his chariot and fled away on foot.	15 O Senhor desbaratou Sisara, e todos seus carros, toda a sua gente, que caíram ao fio da espada, logo que Barac se deixou ver, de tal sorte que Sisara, saltando do seu carro, fugiu a pé.
16 And Barak pursued the chariots and the army to Harosheth-ha-goiim, and all the army of Sisera fell by the edge of the sword; not a man was left.	16 Barac foi seguindo os carros fugitivos e o exército até Haroset das gentes, e toda a multidão dos inimigos foi morta, sem escapar um só homem.
17 But Sisera fled away on foot to the tent of Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite; for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.	17 Entretanto Sisara fugindo chegou à tenda de Jael, mulher de Haber Cineu, porque havia paz entre Jabin, rei de Asor, e a casa de Haber Cineu.
18 And Jael came out to meet Sisera, and said to him, "Turn aside, my lord, turn aside to me; have no fear." So he turned aside to her into the tent, and she covered him with a rug.	18 Jael pois, saindo ao encontro de Sisara, disse-lhe: Entra, meu senhor; entra, não temas. Ele entrou na tenda e, coberto por ela com um manto,
19 And he said to her, "Pray, give me a little water to drink; for I am thirsty." So she opened a skin of milk and gave him a drink and covered him.	19 disse-lhe: Peço-te que me dês um pouco de água, porque tenho muita sede. Ela abriu um odre de leite, deu-lhe de beber e cobriu-o.
20 And he said to her, "Stand at the door of the tent, and if any man comes and asks you, 'Is any one here?' say, No."	20 Sisara disse-lhe: Põe-te à porta da tenda e, se alguém vier perguntar-te: Está aqui alguém? — responder-lhe-ás: Não está ninguém.
21 But Jael the wife of Heber took a tent peg, and took a hammer in her hand, and went softly to him and drove the peg into his temple, till it went down into the ground, as he was lying fast asleep from weariness. So he died.	21 Jael, pois, mulher de Haber, tomou um prego da lenda, tomando também um martelo, e, entrando sem ser vista nem ouvida, aplicou o prego à fonte da cabeça de Sisara, e, dando com o martelo, cravou-o no cérebro até entrar pela terra; ele, profundamente adormecido, desfaleceu e morreu.
22 And behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael went out to meet him, and said to him, "Come, and I will show you the man whom you are seeking." So he went in to her tent; and there lay Sisera dead, with the tent peg in his temple.	22 Quando chegou Barac em seguimento de Sisara, Jael, saindo-lhe ao encontro, disse-lhe: Vem, e eu te mostrarei o homem que procuras. Ele, entrando em casa dela, viu Sisara que jazia morto, e o prego encravado na sua fonte.
23 So on that day God subdued Jabin the king of Canaan before the people of Israel.24 And the hand of the people of Israel bore harder and harder on Jabin the king of Canaan, until they destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.	23 Naquele dia, pois, Deus humilhou Jabin, rei de Canaan, diante dos filhos de Israel,
	24 os quais cresciam cada dia, e com mão forte oprimiam Jabin, rei de Canaan, até que o destruíram.
