1 John 2

1 My little children, I am writing this to you so that you may not sin; but if any one does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;	1 Figliolini miei, vi scrivo queste cose perchè non pecchiate; ma se qualcuno ha peccato, abbiamo un avvocato presso il Padre, Gesù Cristo, il Giusto.
2 and he is the expiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.	2 Ed Egli stesso è (vittima di) propiziazione pei nostri peccati; e non soltanto pei nostri, ma anche per quelli di tutto il mondo.
3 And by this we may be sure that we know him, if we keep his commandments.	3 E da questo sappiamo che l'abbiamo conosciuto, se cioè osserviamo i suoi comandamenti.
4 He who says "I know him" but disobeys his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him;	4 Chi dice di conoscerlo e non osserva i suoi comandamenti è bugiardo, e la verità non è in lui;
5 but whoever keeps his word, in him truly love for God is perfected. By this we may be sure that we are in him:	5 ma chi osserva la parola di Dio, in lui veramente è perfetta la carità di Dio: e da questo sappiamo d'essere in lui.
6 he who says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.	6 Chi dice di stare in lui deve vivere come Gesù ha vissuto.
7 Beloved, I am writing you no new commandment, but an old commandment which you had from the beginning; the old commandment is the word which you have heard.	7 Carissimi, non è un comandamento nuovo quello che vi scrivo, ma un comandamento vecchio, quello che aveste fin da principio: il comandamento vecchio è la parola che udiste.
8 Yet I am writing you a new commandment, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.	8 Ma è anche un comandamento nuovo quello che vi scrivo, in quanto è vero in Gesù e in voi, giacché si dissipan le tenebre e splende la vera luce.
9 He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in the darkness still.	9 Chi dice d'esser nella luce ed odia il proprio fratello è tuttora nelle tenebre.
10 He who loves his brother abides in the light, and in it there is no cause for stumbling.	10 Chi ama il proprio fratello dimora nella luce e in lui non vi è scandalo.
11 But he who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.	11 Ma chi odia il proprio fratello è nelle tenebre, cammina nelle tenebre, e non sa dove vada, perchè le tenebre hanno accecati i suoi occhi.
12 I am writing to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven for his sake.	12 Scrivo a voi, figliolini, perchè pel nome di lui vi son rimessi i peccati;
13 I am writing to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I write to you, children, because you know the Father.	13 scrivo a voi, o padri, perchè avete conosciuto Colui che è da principio; scrivo a voi, o giovanetti, perchè avete vinto il maligno;
14 I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.	14 scrivo a voi, o fanciulli, perchè avete conosciuto il Padre; scrivo a voi, o giovani, perchè siete forti, e la parola di Dio dimora in voi ed avete vinto il maligno.
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If any one loves the world, love for the Father is not in him.	15 Non amate il mondo, nè le cose del mondo. Se uno ama il mondo, non è in lui la carità del Padre;
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world.	16 poiché tutto ciò che è nel mondo è concupiscenza della carne, concupiscenza degli occhi e superbia della vita, cose che non vengon dal Padre, ma dal mondo.
17 And the world passes away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides for ever.	17 E il mondo passa ed anche la sua concupiscenza; ma chi fa la volontà di Dio dura in eterno.
18 Children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come; therefore we know that it is the last hour.	18 Figliolini, è l'ultim'ora, e, come avete sentito, deve venire l'Anticristo; ma anche ora son già molti gli anticristi, dal che possiamo capire che è l'ultima ora.
19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out, that it might be plain that they all are not of us.	19 Sono usciti di mezzo a noi, ma non eran dei nostri, perchè, se fossero stati dei nostri, certamente sarebbero restati con noi; hanno così mostrato che non tutti son dei nostri.
20 But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you all know.	20 Voi però avete ricevuto l'unzione del Santo, e sapete ogni cosa.
21 I write to you, not because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and know that no lie is of the truth.	21 Non ho scritto a voi come a chi non conosce la verità, ma come a chi la conosce, e sa che nessuna menzogna può venire dalla verità.
22 Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son.	22 E chi è bugiardo, se non colui il quale nega che Gesù sia il Cristo? Costui è un anticristo che nega il Padre e il Figliolo.
23 No one who denies the Son has the Father. He who confesses the Son has the Father also.	23 Chi nega il Figlio, non ha neppure il Padre; chi confessa il Figlio, ha anche il Padre.
24 Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you will abide in the Son and in the Father.	24 Quello che udiste da principio dimori in voi; e se in voi dimora quello che udiste da principio, anche voi dimorerete nel Figliolo e nel Padre.
25 And this is what he has promised us, eternal life.	25 Or la promessa che Egli ci ha fatta è la vita eterna.
26 I write this to you about those who would deceive you;	26 Ecco quanto avevo da scrivervi riguardo a quelli che vi seducono.
27 but the anointing which you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that any one should teach you; as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie, just as it has taught you, abide in him.	27 In quanto a voi, dimori in voi l'unzione che avete da lui ricevuta, e così non avete bisogno che alcuno vi ammaestri, perchè l'unzione di lui v'insegna tutte le cose, ed è verace e non ha menzogna.
28 And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming.	28 Or dunque, fìgliolini, dimorate in lui, affinchè, quand'egli apparirà, si possa aver fiducia di non essere nella sua venuta, da lui svergognati.
29 If you know that he is righteous, you may be sure that every one who does right is born of him.	29 Se sapete che egli è giusto, sappiate ancora che chi mette in pratica la giustizia è nato da lui.
