¹ Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same thought, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,	¹ Así pues, dado que Cristo sufrió según la carne, también vosotros armaos de la misma mentalidad, porque el que sufrió según la carne ha acabado con el pecado,
² so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer by human passions but by the will of God.	² para vivir el resto de su vida no según las pasiones humanas, sino según la voluntad de Dios.
³ Let the time that is past suffice for doing what the Gentiles like to do, living in licentiousness, passions, drunkenness, revels, carousing, and lawless idolatry.	³ Pues ya es bastante el tiempo transcurrido llevando una vida de gentiles, andando entre libertinajes, instintos, borracheras, comilonas, orgías e idolatrías nefastas.
⁴ They are surprised that you do not now join them in the same wild profligacy, and they abuse you;	⁴ Por eso se extrañan y os insultan cuando no acudís con ellos a ese derroche de inmoralidad.
⁵ but they will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.	⁵ Ellos darán cuenta ante aquel que está dispuesto para juzgar a vivos y muertos.
⁶ For this is why the gospel was preached even to the dead, that though judged in the flesh like men, they might live in the spirit like God.	⁶ Pues para esto se anunció el Evangelio también a los que ya están muertos, para que, condenados como todos los hombres en el cuerpo, vivan según Dios en el Espíritu.
⁷ The end of all things is at hand; therefore keep sane and sober for your prayers.	⁷ Además, el fin de todas las cosas está cercano. Así pues, sed sensatos y sobrios para la oración.
⁸ Above all hold unfailing your love for one another, since love covers a multitude of sins.	⁸ Ante todo, mantened un amor intenso entre vosotros, porque el amor tapa multitud de pecados.
⁹ Practice hospitality ungrudgingly to one another.	⁹ Sed hospitalarios unos con otros sin protestar.
¹⁰ As each has received a gift, employ it for one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:	¹⁰ Como buenos administradores de la multiforme gracia de Dios, poned al servicio de los demás el carisma que cada uno ha recibido.
¹¹ whoever speaks, as one who utters oracles of God; whoever renders service, as one who renders it by the strength which God supplies; in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.	¹¹ Si uno habla, que sean sus palabras como palabras de Dios; si uno presta servicio, que lo haga con la fuerza que Dios le concede, para que Dios sea glorificado en todo, por medio de Jesucristo, a quien corresponden la gloria y el poder por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.
¹² Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal which comes upon you to prove you, as though something strange were happening to you.	¹² Queridos míos, no os extrañéis del fuego que ha prendido en vosotros y sirve para probaros, como si ocurriera algo extraño.
¹³ But rejoice in so far as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.	¹³ Al contrario, estad alegres en la medida que compartís los sufrimientos de Cristo, de modo que, cuando se revele su gloria, gocéis de alegría desbordante.
¹⁴ If you are reproached for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.	¹⁴ Si os ultrajan por el nombre de Cristo, bienaventurados vosotros, porque el Espíritu de la gloria, que es el Espíritu de Dios, reposa sobre vosotros.
¹⁵ But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or a wrongdoer, or a mischief-maker;	¹⁵ Así pues, que ninguno de vosotros tenga que sufrir por ser asesino, ladrón, malhechor o entrometido,
¹⁶ yet if one suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but under that name let him glorify God.	¹⁶ pero si es por ser cristiano, que no se avergüence, sino que dé gloria a Dios por este nombre.
¹⁷ For the time has come for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?	¹⁷ Porque ha llegado el momento de que el juicio empiece por la casa de Dios; pero, si nosotros somos los primeros, ¿cuál será el final de los que desprecian el Evangelio de Dios?
¹⁸ And "If the righteous man is scarcely saved, where will the impious and sinner appear?"	¹⁸ Y si el justo a duras penas se salva, ¿qué será del impío y pecador?
¹⁹ Therefore let those who suffer according to God's will do right and entrust their souls to a faithful Creator.	¹⁹ Así pues, que los que sufren conforme a la voluntad de Dios, haciendo el bien, pongan también sus vidas en manos del Creador, que es fiel.
