Hebrews 6

font
Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition Pattloch Bibel
Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,1 Lassen wir daher die Anfangsgründe der Lehre von Christus beiseite und wenden uns der Vollendung zu, um nicht nochmals den Grund zu legen mit: Abkehr von toten Werken und Glaube an Gott,
with instruction about ablutions, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.2 Belehrung über Taufen, Handauflegung, Auferstehung der Toten und ewiges Gericht.
And this we will do if God permits.3 Und dies wollen wir tun, sofern Gott es zuläßt.
For it is impossible to restore again to repentance those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit,4 Denn unmöglich ist es, daß Menschen, die einmal erleuchtet worden sind, die himmlische Gabe gekostet, die Mitteilung Heiligen Geistes empfangen,
and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come,5 das herrliche Gotteswort und die Kräfte der kommenden Welt verspürt haben
if they then commit apostasy, since they crucify the Son of God on their own account and hold him up to contempt.6 und dennoch abfielen, nochmals zu einer neuen Umkehr gebracht werden. Sie kreuzigen ja für sich abermals den Sohn Gottes und geben ihn dem Gespötte preis.
For land which has drunk the rain that often falls upon it, and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God.7 Denn das Land, das den häufig darübergehenden Regen getrunken hat und jenen, für die es bestellt wird, ein schönes Wachstum bringt, erhält Anteil am Segen von Gott.
But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed; its end is to be burned.8 Bringt es aber Dornen und Disteln hervor, so ist es unbrauchbar und dem Fluch verfallen, an dessen Ende die Verbrennung steht.
Though we speak thus, yet in your case, beloved, we feel sure of better things that belong to salvation.9 Wir sind aber, was euch betrifft, Geliebte, vom Besseren überzeugt, und zwar gerade hinsichtlich dessen, was zum Heile führt - auch wenn wir so reden.
For God is not so unjust as to overlook your work and the love which you showed for his sake in serving the saints, as you still do.10 Denn Gott ist nicht ungerecht, daß er vergessen sollte eures Wirkens und der Liebe, die ihr zu seinem Namen bewiesen habt, da ihr den Heiligen dientet und noch dient.
And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness in realizing the full assurance of hope until the end,11 Wir möchten aber, daß jeder von euch den gleichen Eifer zeige zur vollen Entfaltung der Hoffnung bis ans Ende.
so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.12 Werdet daher nicht schlaff, sondern seid Nachahmer derer, die durch Glauben und Geduld Erben der Verheißungen sind.
For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater by whom to swear, he swore by himself,13 Denn als Gott dem Abraham die Verheißung gab, schwor er, da er bei keinem Höheren schwören konnte, bei sich selbst
saying, "Surely I will bless you and multiply you."14 und sprach: "Wahrlich, ich will dich in Fülle segnen, und überreich will ich dich mehren" (1Mos 22,16f).
And thus Abraham, having patiently endured, obtained the promise.15 Und so wartete er geduldig und empfing das Verheißene.
Men indeed swear by a greater than themselves, and in all their disputes an oath is final for confirmation.16 Menschen schwören nämlich bei dem Höheren, und der Eid dient ihnen zur Bekräftigung und macht jedem Einwand ein Ende.
So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he interposed with an oath,17 Darum hat Gott, da er den Erben der Verheißung mit allem Nachdruck die Unwandelbarkeit seines Ratschlusses zeigen wollte, sich mit einem Eide verbürgt,
so that through two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible that God should prove false, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to seize the hope set before us.18 damit wir durch zwei unwandelbare Tatsachen, bei denen Gott unmöglich trügen konnte, eine starke Zuversicht hätten, um als Rettungssuchende nach der vor uns liegenden Hoffnung zu greifen.
We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner shrine behind the curtain,19 Wir halten sie fest als zuverlässigen und festen Anker der Seele, der "hinreicht bis ins Innere des Vorhangs" (3Mos 16,2, 3Mos 16,12).
where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.20 Dort hinein ist als Vorläufer für uns Jesus gegangen, der Hoherpriester geworden ist "nach der Ordnung des Melchisedech in Ewigkeit" (Ps 110,4).
