Joshua 18

1 Then the whole congregation of the people of Israel assembled at Shiloh, and set up the tent of meeting there; the land lay subdued before them.	1 La comunidad de los hijos de Israel en pleno se reunió en Siló, donde alzaron la Tienda del Encuentro. Todo el país les estaba sometido.
2 There remained among the people of Israel seven tribes whose inheritance had not yet been apportioned.	2 Pero quedaban aún entre los hijos de Israel siete tribus a las que no se les había asignado todavía heredad.
3 So Joshua said to the people of Israel, "How long will you be slack to go in and take possession of the land, which the LORD, the God of your fathers, has given you?	3 Dijo, pues, Josué a los hijos de Israel: «¿Hasta cuándo vais a estar con los brazos cruzados sin ir a tomar posesión de la tierra que os ha dado el Señor, Dios de vuestros padres?
4 Provide three men from each tribe, and I will send them out that they may set out and go up and down the land, writing a description of it with a view to their inheritances, and then come to me.	4 Escoged tres hombres por cada tribu; yo los enviaré para que vayan a recorrer el país, hagan una descripción del mismo por heredades; y después que me lo traigan.
5 They shall divide it into seven portions, Judah continuing in his territory on the south, and the house of Joseph in their territory on the north.	5 Dividirán el territorio en siete lotes. Judá se quedará en su territorio al sur y la casa de José se quedará en el suyo al norte.
6 And you shall describe the land in seven divisions and bring the description here to me; and I will cast lots for you here before the LORD our God.	6 Vosotros haced la descripción del país repartiéndolo en siete lotes y traédmelo para que lo eche aquí a suertes, en presencia del Señor nuestro Dios.
7 The Levites have no portion among you, for the priesthood of the LORD is their heritage; and Gad and Reuben and half the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan eastward, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave them."	7 Porque los levitas no tienen su parte entre vosotros, pues el ser sacerdotes del Señor es su heredad; y Gad, Rubén y media tribu de Manasés, han recibido ya en Transjordania la heredad que les asignó Moisés, siervo del Señor».
8 So the men started on their way; and Joshua charged those who went to write the description of the land, saying, "Go up and down and write a description of the land, and come again to me; and I will cast lots for you here before the LORD in Shiloh."	8 Los hombres se pusieron en camino. Josué dio esta orden a los que iban a hacer la descripción del país: «Id a recorrer el país y haced un descripción; cuando volváis, os sortearé el territorio aquí, delante del Señor, en Siló».
9 So the men went and passed up and down in the land and set down in a book a description of it by towns in seven divisions; then they came to Joshua in the camp at Shiloh,	9 Fueron los hombres, recorrieron la comarca e hicieron su descripción, ciudad por ciudad, en siete lotes, en un escrito que llevaron a Josué, al campamento de Siló.
10 and Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the LORD; and there Joshua apportioned the land to the people of Israel, to each his portion.	10 Josué se lo echó a suertes en Siló, delante del Señor, y repartió allí la tierra entre los hijos de Israel, por lotes.
11 The lot of the tribe of Benjamin according to its families came up, and the territory allotted to it fell between the tribe of Judah and the tribe of Joseph.	11 El primer lote tocó en suerte a la tribu de los hijos de Benjamín, por clanes. Los límites de su suerte estaban comprendidos entre los de los hijos de Judá y los de los hijos de José.
12 On the north side their boundary began at the Jordan; then the boundary goes up to the shoulder north of Jericho, then up through the hill country westward; and it ends at the wilderness of Beth-aven.	12 Su límite, por el lado norte, partía del Jordán, subía hacia el oeste por el flanco norte de Jericó, hasta alcanzar la montaña, y venía a salir al desierto de Bet Avén.
13 From there the boundary passes along southward in the direction of Luz, to the shoulder of Luz (the same is Bethel), then the boundary goes down to Ataroth-addar, upon the mountain that lies south of Lower Beth-horon.	13 De allí pasaba el límite hacia Luz, por el sur de Luz (o sea, Betel), y bajaba a Atarot Adar por el monte que hay al sur de Bet Jorón de Abajo.
14 Then the boundary goes in another direction, turning on the western side southward from the mountain that lies to the south, opposite Beth-horon, and it ends at Kiriath-baal (that is, Kiriath-jearim), a city belonging to the tribe of Judah. This forms the western side.	14 Torcía el límite y volvía por el oeste hacia el sur, desde el monte que está frente a Bet Jorón, para ir a salir hacia Quiriat Baal (o sea, Quiriat Yearín), ciudad que pertenecía a los hijos de Judá. Esa era la frontera por el lado oeste.
15 And the southern side begins at the outskirts of Kiriath-jearim; and the boundary goes from there to Ephron, to the spring of the Waters of Nephtoah;	15 Y por el lado sur: desde el extremo de Quiriat Yearín, el límite salía cerca de la fuente del arroyo de Neftóaj,
16 then the boundary goes down to the border of the mountain that overlooks the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is at the north end of the valley of Rephaim; and it then goes down the valley of Hinnom, south of the shoulder of the Jebusites, and downward to En-rogel;	16 luego bajaba por junto al monte que está frente al valle de Ben Hinnón, al norte del valle de Refaín, al valle de Hinnón por el flanco sur de los jebuseos y seguía bajando hasta En Roguel.
17 then it bends in a northerly direction going on to En-shemesh, and thence goes to Geliloth, which is opposite the ascent of Adummim; then it goes down to the Stone of Bohan the son of Reuben;	17 Doblaba luego al norte hacia En Semes para salir al círculo de piedras que hay frente a la cuesta de Adumín; bajaba a la Peña de Boján, hijo de Rubén;
18 and passing on to the north of the shoulder of Beth-arabah it goes down to the Arabah;	18 pasaba luego hacia la vertiente de Bet Arabá por el norte y bajaba hacia la Arabá;
19 then the boundary passes on to the north of the shoulder of Beth-hoglah; and the boundary ends at the northern bay of the Salt Sea, at the south end of the Jordan: this is the southern border.	19 pasaba por el norte de la pendiente de Bet Joglá, e iba a dar en la lengua septentrional del mar de la Sal, en la desembocadura del Jordán. Ese era el límite meridional.
20 The Jordan forms its boundary on the eastern side. This is the inheritance of the tribe of Benjamin, according to its families, boundary by boundary round about.	20 El Jordán era el límite por el este. Esa fue la heredad de los hijos de Benjamín, por clanes, y ese el trazado de sus fronteras.
21 Now the cities of the tribe of Benjamin according to their families were Jericho, Beth-hoglah, Emek-keziz,	21 Las ciudades de la tribu de los hijos de Benjamín, por clanes, fueron: Jericó, Bet Joglá, Émec Quesís;
22 Beth-arabah, Zemaraim, Bethel,	22 Bet Arabá, Semaráin, Betel;
23 Avvim, Parah, Ophrah,	23 Avín, Pará, Ofrá;
24 Chephar-ammoni, Ophni, Geba--twelve cities with their villages:	24 Quefar Amoní, Ofní, Gabá: doce ciudades con sus aldeas.
25 Gibeon, Ramah, Be-eroth,	25 Gabaón, Ramá, Berot,
26 Mizpeh, Chephirah, Mozah,	26 Mispé, Quefirá, Mosá;
27 Rekem, Irpeel, Taralah,	27 Requen, Yirpel, Taralá;
28 Zela, Ha-eleph, Jebus (that is, Jerusalem), Gibe-ah and Kiriath-jearim--fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the tribe of Benjamin according to its families.	28 Sela Alef, el Jebuseo (es decir, Jerusalén), Guibeá y Quiriat: catorce ciudades con sus aldeas. Esa fue la heredad de los hijos de Benjamín, por clanes.
