Philippians 3

1 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you is not irksome to me, and is safe for you.	1 Del resto, o fratelli miei, state allegri nel Signore. Non mi pesa scrivervi le stesse cose, essendo ciò necessario per voi.
2 Look out for the dogs, look out for the evil-workers, look out for those who mutilate the flesh.	2 Guardatevi dai cani, guardatevi dai cattivi operai, guardatevi dal taglio della carne.
3 For we are the true circumcision, who worship God in spirit, and glory in Christ Jesus, and put no confidence in the flesh.	3 I veri circoncisi siam noi che serviamo a Dio in spirito, ci gloriamo in Cristo Gesù e non confidiamo nella carne.
4 Though I myself have reason for confidence in the flesh also. If any other man thinks he has reason for confidence in the flesh, I have more:	4 Quanto a me potrei confidare anche nella carne. Se alcuno pensa di dover confidare nella carne, tanto più dovrei pensarlo io,
5 circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew born of Hebrews; as to the law a Pharisee,	5 circonciso l'ottavo giorno, del popolo d'Israele, della tribù di Beniamino, ebreo figlio di ebrei, quanto alla legge, fariseo,
6 as to zeal a persecutor of the church, as to righteousness under the law blameless.	6 quanto allo zelo, persecutore della Chiesa di Dio, quanto alla giustizia proveniente dalla legge, irreprensibile.
7 But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ.	7 Ma quelli che per me eran guadagni io li ho reputati perdita a causa di Cristo,
8 Indeed I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as refuse, in order that I may gain Christ	8 anzi stimo come perdita ogni cosa di fronte alla superna cognizione di Gesù Cristo mio Signore, per amor del quale mi sono privato di tutte le cose, e le ho stimate spazzatura, allo scopo di guadagnare Cristo,
9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, based on law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith;	9 e ritrovarmi in lui non colla mia giustizia che viene dalla legge, ma con quella che viene dalla fede di Cristo Gesù, che è da Dio ed è giustizia, basata sulla fede,
10 that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,	10 affin di conoscer Cristo, e la virtù della sua risurrezione, e la partecipazione dei suoi patimenti, di conformarmi alla sua morte,
11 that if possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.	11 per giungere in qualche modo alla risurrezione da morte.
12 Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect; but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.	12 Non che abbia già ricevuto il premio, o che sia già perfetto, ma continuo a correre per conquistare quello pel quale anch'io sono stato conquistato da Cristo Gesù.
13 Brethren, I do not consider that I have made it my own; but one thing I do, forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,	13 Però, fratelli, non credo d'averlo ancora conseguito, ma non fo altro che dimenticare quello che ho dietro le spalle e slanciarmi sempre in avanti;
14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.	14 per avvicinarmi alla mèta, al premio della superna vocazione di Dio in Cristo Gesù.
15 Let those of us who are mature be thus minded; and if in anything you are otherwise minded, God will reveal that also to you.	15 Chiunque di noi è perfetto dovrebbe avere questi sentimenti; e se in qualche cosa voi la pensate diversamente, Dio vi illuminerà riguardo a questo;
16 Only let us hold true to what we have attained.	16 però fino al punto in cui siamo arrivati dobbiamo avere gli stessi sentimenti e perseverare nella stessa regola.
17 Brethren, join in imitating me, and mark those who so live as you have an example in us.	17 Imitate me, o fratelli, e mirate coloro che si conducono secondo il modello che avete in noi.
18 For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, live as enemies of the cross of Christ.	18 Già ve l'ho detto tante volte, e ora ve lo dico piangendo: vi sono molti che vivono come nemici della croce di Cristo.
19 Their end is destruction, their god is the belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things.	19 La loro fine è la perdizione, il loro Dio è il ventre e la loro gloria la fanno consistere nella loro vergogna, e non pensano ad altro che alle cose della terra.
20 But our commonwealth is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,	20 Ma noi siamo cittadini del cielo, dal quale pure aspettiamo come Salvatore il Signore nostro Gesù Cristo,
21 who will change our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power which enables him even to subject all things to himself.	21 che, per la sua potenza di assoggettarsi ogni cosa, trasformerà il corpo della nostra umiliazione in modo da renderlo simile al corpo che egli ha nella gloria.
