Ephesians 6

1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.	1 Figlioli, obbedite ai vostri genitori nel Signore; ciò è giusto:
2 "Honor your father and mother" (this is the first commandment with a promise),	2 « Onora il tuo padre e la tua madre » è il primo comandamento accompagnato da promessa:
3 "that it may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth."	3 affinchè tu sia felice e viva lunga­mente sulla terra ».
4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.	4 E voi, padri, non irritate i vostri figlioli, ma allevateli nella disciplina e negli ammonimenti del Signore.
5 Slaves, be obedient to those who are your earthly masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of heart, as to Christ;	5 Servi, obbedite a quelli che secondo la carne vi sono padroni, con rispetto e timore, nella semplicità del vostro cuore, come a Cristo,
6 not in the way of eye-service, as men-pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,	6 servendo non all'occhio quasi per piacere agli uomini, ma come servi di Cristo, facendo di cuore la volontà di Dio,
7 rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to men,	7 e servendo con affezione, come se si trattasse del Signore e non di uomini,
8 knowing that whatever good any one does, he will receive the same again from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free.	8 ben sapendo che ciascuno, servo o libero che sia, riceverà dal Signore la ricompensa di ciò che avrà fatto di bene.
9 Masters, do the same to them, and forbear threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that there is no partiality with him.	9 É voi, o padroni, fate altrettanto riguardo ad essi, astenendovi dalle minacce, ben sapendo che il padrone loro e vostro è nei cieli e che davanti ad esso non ci sono preferenze personali.
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.	10 Del resto, o fratelli, diventate forti nel Signore e nella sua virtù potente.
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.	11 Rivestitevi del­l'armatura di Dio per poter re­sistere alle insidie del diavolo;
12 For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.	12 perchè non abbiamo da com­battere colla carne o col sangue, ma contro i principi e le potestà, contro i dominatori di questo mondo tenebroso, contro i mali­gni spiriti dell'aria.
13 Therefore take the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.	13 Prendete quindi l'armatura di Dio, per poter resistere nel giorno cattivo, e, in tutto perfetti, restar vittoriosi.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,	14 State dunque saldi, cingendo il vostro fianco colla verità, vestiti della corazza della giustizia,
15 and having shod your feet with the equipment of the gospel of peace;	15 avendo i piedi calzati in preparazione al Vangelo di pace.
16 besides all these, taking the shield of faith, with which you can quench all the flaming darts of the evil one.	16 Prendete sopra tutto lo scudo della fede, col quale possiate estinguere tutti gli infocati dardi del maligno.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.	17 Prendete ancora l'elmo della saldezza e la spada dello spirito, cioè la Parola di Dio.
18 Pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,	18 E pregate continuamente in spirito, con ogni sorta di preghiere e di suppliche, e nello stesso spirito vegliate pregando con incessante perseveranza per tutti i santi,
19 and also for me, that utterance may be given me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel,	19 ed anche per me, affinchè quando parlo mi sia data la parola per manifestare francamente il mistero del Vangelo,
20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.	20 del quale sono un ambasciatore in catena, affinchè ne parli col coraggio che è conve­niente.
21 Now that you also may know how I am and what I am doing, Tychicus the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord will tell you everything.	21 Ora, affinchè voi pure siate informati riguardo alle mie cose, a ciò che faccio, tutto vi notifi­cherà Tichico, carissimo fratello e ministro fedele nel Signore.
22 I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are, and that he may encourage your hearts.	22 Ve l'ho mandato appunto per farvi conoscere le mie cose e per­ chè egli consoli i vostri cuori.
23 Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.	23 Pace ai fratelli e carità e fede da Dio Padre e dal Signore Gesù Cristo.
24 Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with love undying.	24 La grazia sia con tutti quelli che, senza lasciarsi corrompere, amano il Signore nostro Gesù Cristo. Così sia.
