2 Corinthians 4

1 Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart.	1 Por esto, misericordiosamente investidos de este ministerio, no desfallecemos.
2 We have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways; we refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God's word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.	2 Antes bien, hemos repudiado el silencio vergonzoso no procediendo con astucia, ni falseando la Palabra de Dios; al contrario, mediante la manifestación de la verdad nos recomendamos a nosotros mismos a toda conciencia humana delante de Dios.
3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing.	3 Y si todavía nuestro Evangelio está velado, lo está para los que se pierden,
4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the likeness of God.	4 para los incrédulos, cuyo entendimiento cegó el dios de este mundo para impedir que vean brillar el resplandor del Evangelio de la gloria de Cristo, que es imagen de Dios.
5 For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake.	5 No nos predicamos a nosotros mismos, sino a Cristo Jesús como Señor, y a nosotros como siervos vuestros por Jesús.
6 For it is the God who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.	6 Pues el mismo Dios que dijo: De las tinieblas brille la luz, ha hecho brillar la luz en nuestros corazones, para irradiar el conocimiento de la gloria de Dios que está en la faz de Cristo.
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, to show that the transcendent power belongs to God and not to us.	7 Pero llevamos este tesoro en recipientes de barro para que aparezca que una fuerza tan extraordinaria es de Dios y no de nosotros.
8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair;	8 Atribulados en todo, mas no aplastados; perplejos, mas no desesperados;
9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;	9 perseguidos, mas no abandonados; derribados, mas no aniquilados.
10 always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies.	10 Llevamos siempre en nuestros cuerpos por todas partes el morir de Jesús, a fin de que también la vida de Jesús se manifieste en nuestro cuerpo.
11 For while we live we are always being given up to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.	11 Pues, aunque vivimos, nos vemos continuamente entregados a la muerte por causa de Jesús, a fin de que también la vida de Jesús se manifieste en nuestra carne mortal.
12 So death is at work in us, but life in you.	12 De modo que la muerte actúa en nosotros, mas en vosotros la vida.
13 Since we have the same spirit of faith as he had who wrote, "I believed, and so I spoke," we too believe, and so we speak,	13 Pero teniendo aquel espíritu de fe conforme a lo que está escrito: Creí, por eso hablé, también nosotros creemos, y por eso hablamos,
14 knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence.	14 sabiendo que quien resucitó al Señor Jesús, también nos resucitará con Jesús y nos presentará ante él juntamente con vosotros.
15 For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.	15 Y todo esto, para vuestro bien a fin de que cuantos más reciban la gracia, mayor sea el agradecimiento, para gloria de Dios.
16 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed every day.	16 Por eso no desfallecemos. Aun cuando nuestro hombre exterior se va desmoronando, el hombre interior se va renovando de día en día.
17 For this slight momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,	17 En efecto, la leve tribulación de un momento nos produce, sobre toda medida, un pesado caudal de gloria eterna,
18 because we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.	18 a cuantos no ponemos nuestros ojos en las cosas visibles, sino en las invisibles; pues las cosas visibles son pasajeras, mas las invisibles son eternas.
