1 Corinthians 2

1 When I came to you, brethren, I did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God in lofty words or wisdom.	1 Pour moi, quand je suis venu chez vous, frères, je ne suis pas venu vous annoncer le mystèrede Dieu avec le prestige de la parole ou de la sagesse.
2 For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.	2 Non, je n'ai rien voulu savoir parmi vous, sinon Jésus Christ, et Jésus Christ crucifié.
3 And I was with you in weakness and in much fear and trembling;	3 Moi-même, je me suis présenté à vous faible, craintif et tout tremblant,
4 and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,	4 et ma parole et mon message n'avaient rien des discours persuasifs de la sagesse; c'était unedémonstration d'Esprit et de puissance,
5 that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.	5 pour que votre foi reposât, non sur la sagesse des hommes, mais sur la puissance de Dieu.
6 Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away.	6 Pourtant, c'est bien de sagesse que nous parlons parmi les parfaits, mais non d'une sagesse dece monde ni des princes de ce monde, voués à la destruction.
7 But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glorification.	7 Ce dont nous parlons, au contraire, c'est d'une sagesse de Dieu, mystérieuse, demeurée cachée,celle que, dès avant les siècles, Dieu a par avance destinée pour notre gloire,
8 None of the rulers of this age understood this; for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.	8 celle qu'aucun des princes de ce monde n'a connue - s'ils l'avaient connue, en effet, ilsn'auraient pas crucifié le Seigneur de la Gloire --
9 But, as it is written, "What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man conceived, what God has prepared for those who love him,"	9 mais, selon qu'il est écrit, nous annonçons ce que l'oeil n'a pas vu, ce que l'oreille n'a pasentendu, ce qui n'est pas monté au coeur de l'homme, tout ce que Dieu a préparé pour ceux qui l'aiment.
10 God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.	10 Car c'est à nous que Dieu l'a révélé par l'Esprit; l'Esprit en effet sonde tout, jusqu'auxprofondeurs de Dieu.
11 For what person knows a man's thoughts except the spirit of the man which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.	11 Qui donc entre les hommes sait ce qui concerne l'homme, sinon l'esprit de l'homme qui est enlui? De même, nul ne connaît ce qui concerne Dieu, sinon l'Esprit de Dieu.
12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might understand the gifts bestowed on us by God.	12 Or, nous n'avons pas reçu, nous, l'esprit du monde, mais l'Esprit qui vient de Dieu, pourconnaître les dons gracieux que Dieu nous a faits.
13 And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who possess the Spirit.	13 Et nous en parlons non pas avec des discours enseignés par l'humaine sagesse, mais avecceux qu'enseigne l'Esprit, exprimant en termes spirituels des réalités spirituelles.
14 The unspiritual man does not receive the gifts of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.	14 L'homme psychique n'accueille pas ce qui est de l'Esprit de Dieu: c'est folie pour lui et il nepeut le connaître, car c'est spirituellement qu'on en juge.
15 The spiritual man judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one.	15 L'homme spirituel, au contraire, juge de tout, et lui-même n'est jugé par personne.
16 "For who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.	16 Qui en effet a connu la pensée du Seigneur, pour pouvoir l'instruire? Et nous l'avons, nous, lapensée du Christ.
