Deuteronomy 33

1 This is the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.	1 Dies ist der Segen, den Mose, der Mann Gottes, über die Israeliten vor seinem Tode ausgesprochen hat.
2 He said, "The LORD came from Sinai, and dawned from Seir upon us; he shone forth from Mount Paran, he came from the ten thousands of holy ones, with flaming fire at his right hand.	2 Er sprach (damals): »Der HERR kam vom Sinai herund erschien seinem Volk von Seir her in strahlendem Glanz;er ließ sein Licht vom Gebirge Paran leuchtenund kam aus der Mitte heiliger Zehntausend-Scharen;zu seiner Rechten war loderndes Feuer für sie (?).
3 Yea, he loved his people; all those consecrated to him were in his hand; so they followed in thy steps, receiving direction from thee,	3 Ja, er umgab mit Liebe die Stämme;alle seine Heiligen (oder: Geweihten) sind in seiner Hand;sie waren gelagert längs deiner Bahn,so daß jeder etwas von deinen Aussprüchen empfing.
4 when Moses commanded us a law, as a possession for the assembly of Jacob.	4 Das Gesetz hat Mose uns verordnetals Erbbesitz der Gemeinde Jakobs.
5 Thus the LORD became king in Jeshurun, when the heads of the people were gathered, all the tribes of Israel together.	5 So ist er denn König in Jeschurun (vgl. 32,15) geworden,als die Häupter des Volks sich versammelten,die Stämme Israels allzumal.«
6 "Let Reuben live, and not die, nor let his men be few."	6 »Ruben lebe, er sterbe nicht,und seine Mannen seien eine Anzahl (= eine große Zahl)!«
7 And this he said of Judah: "Hear, O LORD, the voice of Judah, and bring him in to his people. With thy hands contend for him, and be a help against his adversaries."	7 Und dies ist der Segen für (oder: über) Juda, und zwar sagte er: »Erhöre, HERR, die Stimme Judasund bring ihn zurück zu seinem Volk - mit seinen Händen hat er ja für es gestritten (?) –und sei ihm Hilfe wider seine Feinde!«
8 And of Levi he said, "Give to Levi thy Thummim, and thy Urim to thy godly one, whom thou didst test at Massah, with whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah;	8 Und von (oder: für) Levi sagte er: »Dein Recht-Orakel und dein Licht-Orakel (vgl. 2.Mose 28,15.29-30)gehört den Männern deines Getreuen,den du bei Massa versucht hast,für den du an den Wassern von Meriba gestritten hast,
9 who said of his father and mother, 'I regard them not'; he disowned his brothers, and ignored his children. For they observed thy word, and kept thy covenant.	9 jenen Männern, die von Vater und Mutter sagten: ›Ich kenne sie nicht!‹ (vgl. 2.Mose 32,29)und die ihre Brüder nicht ansahn, von ihren Kindern nichts wissen wollten;denn sie bewahrten dein Gebot und hielten an deinem Bunde fest.
10 They shall teach Jacob thy ordinances, and Israel thy law; they shall put incense before thee, and whole burnt offering upon thy altar.	10 Sie sollen Jakob deine Verordnungen lehren und Israel dein Gesetz;sie sollen Weihrauchduft zum Einatmen vor dich bringenund Ganzopfer auf deinen Altar.
11 Bless, O LORD, his substance, and accept the work of his hands; crush the loins of his adversaries, of those that hate him, that they rise not again."	11 Segne, HERR, seine Kraft (oder: sein Heer, oder: seinen Wohlstand?)und laß dir das Tun seiner Hände gefallen!Zerschmettre seinen Gegnern die Hüftenund seinen Widersachern, daß sie nicht mehr aufstehn!«
12 Of Benjamin he said, "The beloved of the LORD, he dwells in safety by him; he encompasses him all the day long, and makes his dwelling between his shoulders."	12 Von (oder: für) Benjamin sagte er: »Als Liebling des HERRN wird er in Ruhe bei ihm wohnen;er beschirmt ihn allezeitund wohnt zwischen seinen Schultern (= Berghängen).«
13 And of Joseph he said, "Blessed by the LORD be his land, with the choicest gifts of heaven above, and of the deep that couches beneath,	13 Und von (oder: für) Joseph sagte er: »Gesegnet vom HERRN ist (oder: sei) sein Landmit der köstlichsten Himmelsgabe, mit Tau,und mit der Wasserflut, die drunten lagert;
14 with the choicest fruits of the sun, and the rich yield of the months,	14 mit dem Köstlichsten, was die Sonne hervorbringt,und dem Köstlichsten, was die Monde sprossen lassen;
15 with the finest produce of the ancient mountains, and the abundance of the everlasting hills,	15 mit dem Besten, was vom Gipfel der uralten Berge kommt,und dem Köstlichsten der ewigen Hügel;
16 with the best gifts of the earth and its fulness, and the favor of him that dwelt in the bush. Let these come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the crown of the head of him that is prince among his brothers.	16 mit dem Köstlichsten der Erde und ihrer Fülle!Und das Wohlgefallen dessen, der im Dornbusch wohnte (vgl. 2.Mose 3,2),das möge kommen auf das Haupt Josephsund auf den Scheitel des Geweihten unter seinen Brüdern!
17 His firstling bull has majesty, and his horns are the horns of a wild ox; with them he shall push the peoples, all of them, to the ends of the earth; such are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and such are the thousands of Manasseh."	17 Ein erstgeborener Stier ist er – etwas Herrliches,und seine Hörner sind die eines Wildochsen;mit ihnen stößt er Völker nieder,allesamt die Enden der Erde.So sind die Zehntausende Ephraims und so die Tausende Manasses.«
18 And of Zebulun he said, "Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going out; and Issachar, in your tents.	18 Und von (oder: für) Sebulon sagte er: »Freue dich, Sebulon, deiner Meerfahrtenund du, Issaschar, deiner Zelte!
19 They shall call peoples to their mountain; there they offer right sacrifices; for they suck the affluence of the seas and the hidden treasures of the sand."	19 Sie laden Völker ein auf den Berg,dort opfern sie rechte Opfer (eig. Opfer der Gerechtigkeit);denn den Reichtum der Meere saugen sie einund die verborgensten Schätze des Sandes (oder: Strandes).«
20 And of Gad he said, "Blessed be he who enlarges Gad! Gad couches like a lion, he tears the arm, and the crown of the head.	20 Und von (oder: für) Gad sagte er: »Gepriesen sei der HERR, der Gad weiten Raum schafft!Wie eine Löwin hat er sich gelagertund zerfleischt Arm und Schädel.
21 He chose the best of the land for himself, for there a commander's portion was reserved; and he came to the heads of the people, with Israel he executed the commands and just decrees of the LORD."	21 Er hat sich das Erstlingsgebiet ersehen;denn dort ward ihm sein Anteil vom Anführer bestimmt.Doch ist er zu den Häuptern des Volks gekommen,hat die Gerechtigkeit des HERRN vollstrecktund seine Strafgerichte gemeinsam mit Israel.«
22 And of Dan he said, "Dan is a lion's whelp, that leaps forth from Bashan."	22 Und von (oder: für) Dan sagte er: »Dan ist ein junger Löwe,der aus Basan hervorstürmt.«
23 And of Naphtali he said, "O Naphtali, satisfied with favor, and full of the blessing of the LORD, possess the lake and the south."	23 Und von (oder: für) Naphthali sagte er: »Naphthali ist gesättigt mit Glückund reichlich bedacht mit dem Segen des HERRN;Meer und Südland nimm in Besitz!«
24 And of Asher he said, "Blessed above sons be Asher; let him be the favorite of his brothers, and let him dip his foot in oil.	24 Und von (oder: für) Asser sagte er: »Der gesegnetste unter den Söhnen sei Asser!Er sei der Liebling seiner Brüderund tauche seinen Fuß in Öl!
25 Your bars shall be iron and bronze; and as your days, so shall your strength be.	25 Von Eisen und Erz seien deine Riegel,und solange du lebst, währe deine Ruhe (oder: Kraft?)!«
26 "There is none like God, O Jeshurun, who rides through the heavens to your help, and in his majesty through the skies.	26 »Keiner ist dem Gott Jeschuruns (vgl. 32,15) gleich,der über den Himmel dahinfährt als dein Helferund in seiner Hoheit auf den Wolken.
27 The eternal God is your dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms. And he thrust out the enemy before you, and said, Destroy.	27 Eine Zuflucht für dich ist der Gott der Urzeit,und unter dir sind ewige Arme ausgebreitet;er hat den Feind vor dir her vertriebenund dir geboten: ›Vertilge!‹
28 So Israel dwelt in safety, the fountain of Jacob alone, in a land of grain and wine; yea, his heavens drop down dew.	28 So wohnt denn Israel in Sicherheit,abgesondert für sich der Quell Jakobsin einem Land voll Korn und Wein,und sein Himmel träufelt Tau.
29 Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the LORD, the shield of your help, and the sword of your triumph! Your enemies shall come fawning to you; and you shall tread upon their high places."	29 Heil dir, Israel! Wer ist dir gleich? Ein Volk, gerettet durch den HERRN!Er ist der Schild, der dich schirmt,und das Schwert, das dir Ruhm (oder: Sieg) verschafft;deine Feinde müssen dir huldigen,du aber schreitest dahin auf ihren Höhen!«
